Re: New York GP in Jersey City
The particulars of the pre-straight corners are equally important. Part of the problem in Barcelona, say, is that awful chicane + high downforce turn combination right before the straight, which makes it tough for trailing cars to get a good run. So you need some slow, mechanical grip corners just b...

Re: New York GP in Jersey City
Consequently, the circuits of yesteryear that still appear on the calender like Silverstone and Spa aren't that conducive to overtaking and have quite wrongly taken criticism from some corners that they produce dull races. I have to take exception to that. Spa tends to produce some of the most over...

2010 Drivers Championship
Based upon what we know now, who wins next year? 1. Hamilton -- quickest driver in the best car. 2. Alonso -- close second in a much improved Ferrari. 3. Button -- not quite as quick as Lewis but still fast. 4. Massa -- average driver in a great car. 5. Rosberg -- only an above-average driver in a c...

Re: Hypotheticals: President YOU
Simply ban the double-deck diffusers. Early in the season, cars could easily follow cars without them through fast corners. With the Brawn, Williams, and, I think, Toyota, it was an entirely different story. Without all that extra turbulence I think the new wings do a fine job. Hell, restrict aero e...

Re: Reject of the Race - Italy
I can't quite understand people's disdain for Lewis Hamilton. He comes into F1 with the arguably best driver in the world at the time as his teammate in a car that was probably second quickest to the Ferrari. He keeps up with everyone, leads the championship, and in my opinion establishes himself as...

Re: Replacing Massa
If Ferrari really care about 3rd in the constructor's, they'll want someone capable like Schum or Alonso scoring points by the next race. Perhaps they're waiting for more information on Felipe? They have four weeks. If he'll be back next year convince Schumacher to come back. If he's done for good f...

Re: FOTA chose breakaway series!!
This is nothing like the IRL/CART split, it's so different it's almost incomparable. American open-wheeled racing was already becoming secondary to NASCAR when the split happened, and it was already second-tier behind F1. And, neither the IRL or CART immediately had the upper hand. With this split, ...

Re: FOTA chose breakaway series!!
Why would a FOTA series have to be a bad thing? The manufacturers have all the real power, they have the real money. A FOTA series would make the FIA series look second-rate immediately. FOTA would simply become F1. They'd probably be a lot easier to deal with than Bernie and Max, who seem to care a...

Re: Kimi And Massa Not Good For Ferrari
Massa is not world championship material. He only looks quick because he's always in the best car. Vettel, Kubica, or Alonso would have easily won last year's WC in the Ferrari.

Re: Still the Oz incident: McLaren summoned by the WMSC
It's sad that the FIA has to resort to interrogating self-interested drivers and teams just to figure out the correct race order. It's absurd that they can't just decide who should have been third and who fourth. They should never be asking drivers.
