I've discovered a kind of sport during lockdown that I have tried to use to ween myself off of my habit of watching motor sports because I can't stand athletes dying in it, having witnessed that harrowing downside of the sport 3 times on live TV in roughly 30 years of following the sport as a spect...

Re: Biggest Downgrades in Motorsport history

After success in ChampCar, AJ Allmendinger left Team Forsythe for his sponsor Red Bull's new NASCAR Cup team. His career went through a major trough there. When he wins a race now, he is always celebrating exuberantly as he knows how special winning actually is. And when I get to watch him celebrate...

Re: The Alessandro Zanardi IndyCar Thread

The Toronto track seemed in worse shape than usual after the flooding that went on a week or so before the event: bumpier and dustier than usual.
Also, they had "the big one" multi-car accident in 2 successive events now, when really, it should be avoided.

Re: Have single-car teams been outlawed?

In IndyCar, single-car teams have been series regulars even in this decade. However, teams realize how much they can benefit from larger amounts of data available through multiple cars. So single-car teams tend to partner with multiple car teams. Like Meyer Shank Racing did when they ran only the #6...

ROTR must be "war in general". You shouldn't host a professional international sporting event in a war zone. If you do anyway, your event becomes a target inevitably. Why would you expose your guests to this kind of risk? If you do anyway, you're not being hospitable and you should not be ...

Witnessing over half the field of Formula E run out of energy on the final lap whilst watching the replay of the race was as bizarre a moment as the legendary 2005 USGP of F1 or the safety car literally picking up race leader Franz Engstler's car in WTTC at Pau some years back.
