sadly i can't, i only speak dutch with a heavy limburgish accent (i actually saw people thinking 'what bathplugging language is that?' when i was in germany ) but i do understand it good enough because of grandparents speaking local dialects (there is no real 'standard-limburgish'). Basically it's just a mixture between dutch and german with now and then a french or brabantic word. So despite that i don't really speak Limburgish, i pretty much sound Limburgish (except when i speak english, then for some unknown reason i sound slightly irish, must be the beer )

None at all. I'm fluent in both French and English and I'm learning Dutch and German at school.
Every Monday evening, there's a radio show entirely in Walloon, and I try my best to understand a few words. So no, I can't speak Walloon, apart from some very well-known phrases, and certainly no Platdiets (I had no idea that even existed). My dad's parents are from Brussels and my mum's parents are from the Herve plateau and Normandy.

well i don't know how platdiets is called in french, but it's a dialect they speak somewhere between the east cantons and the rest of liège/luik/lütich (whatever you prefer), and it's a mixture between limburgish and ripuaric.
almost nobody knows that it exists, but i do, it is officially accepted as a language of its own in wallonia! Well according to wikipedia at least. I do however have no idea how these languages actually sound, whenever i'm in wallonia, i have conversations in a combination of french, dutch, english and franglais. But walloon people only talk to about reforming the prince-bisphoric of liege and stuff. (crazy - and mostly drunk- people, then again, wallonia is a literal translation of wales, which explains a lot)
I don't know what i want and i want it now!
Re: F1RWRS - A computerised F1Reject series
I prefer to call it Liège, after all, that's where I go to school. After checking, I had never heard of Thiois, which is the French term for Platdiets.
But that's the first time I hear of people who want the old Prince-Bishopric back. The Principåté d'Lîdje (how it's called in Walloon - no wonder I can't understand or write much) has been gone for over 200 years. And I don't see a country ruled by a clergyman a very good idea, TBH.

yeah they don't really want a prince-bishop to rule the country. It's just what makes limburg and liege different from the rest of belgium. But yeah, most of the walloons i meet are at the dour festival, which is the most chaotic and vague place in western europe. My idea of walloons being nice but drunk crazy people is probably wrong?
This however leads me to an idea, can someone make a A1GP-like-mod for 'nations that ceased to exist'?

This, however, is a brilliant idea. I wonder what countries we could use...
P.S. I love how a thread about an offline racing league turns into a regionalistic/linguistic/historic discussion between two guys coming from the country with the most bathplugged up politics. Don't believe me? It's been a little over a year since we voted, and still no government. well eh, everywhere i am, things go off-topic into subjects that no normal person would be interested in and usually people are getting bored, but also wonder why the hell i would want to know such things while i have practically no knowlegde of usefull things
but whenever someone says 'go back on topic' i will do that, don't worry
however what makes this forum better than others, nobody is making a fight, on many forums this would have turned out into a political and racist discussion, here we are just summing up random facts Then again, belgium's main export product is randomness.
and then to think it all started with my press release
well back on the idea i had: well that could go from coutries like neutral moresnet to the DDR to the aztec empire, as long as it doesn't exist anymore and has existed. I however propose we use a 'famous person from the nation' as a driver (doesn't matter why he was famous)

MRT team boss and Arrowtech driver Daniel Melrose is to lodge a complaint to the F1RWRS Council in Madrid later today over the conduct of current drivers Phoenix McAllister, Sammy Jones and Barry Mori. "The public sledging in the press I can tolerate even if it does nothing good for any of the parties, which is a particular shame for Sammy Jones after coming so close to a World Championship a few years ago, but the court cases are going too far and people have come up to me, especially from various companies who will not be named, saying that they're considering leaving the series as they feel the reputation of the series is being dragged through the dirt. If they want to sort out their differences they should do it outside of the limelight" said Melrose. "It's just an absolute disgrace that this could drag on for so long for such a well known series and it simply has to stop right now."

There's absolutely no need to go back through something which has already been resolved, and I suggest that if McAllister is still unsatisfied with the punishment that was dealt to me, then he can go and complain to the F1RWRS Council about me. F1RWRS Council send a warning to big mouths
The F1RWRS council has been called into an urgency meeting regarding the press coverage bonanza some team owners are getting lately by discrediting some of their rivals. "Of course there must be rivalry, and team owners are, by nature, going to disagree with their colleagues, but we´ve noticed some of them going too far with their words lately. The council has decided not to take any action this time, but we want to send a warning; we won´t tollerate any personal ofences from now on, and we´re going to award penalties where it hurts the most: Credits (race bans for drivers). Any disrespectful and ofensive language will be penalised with anything from 50 to 500 credits, with no exceptions. We remind the team owners that this is a sport, and that the regulations everyone signed already foresee this, in particular Article 15.4, section C: "Penalties can be awarded to any team, driver or any other team member if they consistently fail to show commitment for the good of the sport. Penalties can also be provided if a team, team owner or any other team member, including drivers, bring the sport to disrespectful practices or damage the global image of the sport""

MRT will give him plenty of time in our state of the art simulator at Munich as well as allow him to do testing at most of the test sessions" said MRT team owner Daniel Melrose.
In addition to Kekkonen, former Grand Prix winner Jack Christopherson has been signed on in MRT's driver mentor. Kamaha are unhappy with the performances and attitude of Kay Lon at the start of the season before being fired and quickly employed by Jones Racing where he raced a lot better, Kamaha say they have evidence to show that Kay Lon was just driving badly and they are seeking to obtain the lost credits they spent on Kay Lon at least. No parties were available to comment.
There are strong rumours that Nissan may end the technical tie up that Kamaha and Sunshine Infiniti have at the moment, Orange may pull out of sponsorship of Kamaha and Oreo may do the same with Jones Racing.

We will continue to sponsor the team for the remainder of this season, but from that point the contract will cease to exist. We'd like to thank Jones Racing for their co-operation and goodwill in this matter."

"Naturally we're very disappointed that Oreo have decided to end the contract we have with them early, but we fully understand their situation and accept it. There is absolutely no question over Castrol's commitment as our main sponsor, and we look forward to many more fruitful seasons in a strong partnership with them.
