Just a few things for you guys to vote on for 99':

b) Tyre War? (Nominate a few manufacturers)
c) Maximum of 3 cars per team or 2?
d) Add a few new tracks? (16 in 1999, I'll allow a maximum of 19. Nominate a few tracks)

d) Laguna Seca, Dijon instead of Magny-Cours and Montjuic Park. That would make 18 races.

Unfortunately he has also advised us that he won't be driving for the team next year which means Moll will be driving for us full time next season.

Re: The 'F1 Challenge' Championship- Another Computer Series
Results:
a) Reynard beats Tyrrell 6-4, so the team will become Reynard next season.
b) Next season we'll have a tyre war between Pirelli (6 votes), Bridgestone and Michelin (5 votes each) and Goodyear (4 votes). (I will use a random draw to decide which tyre is best, and will edit the .tbc files accordingly. I obviously won't reveal the results of that, it's just your luck!)
c) A maximum of 3 cars per team remain for next year after a 6-4 victory in voting.
For D, we will have another vote commencing:
a) The United States GP at either Road America or Laguna Seca.
b) Bathurst to enter the calendar and replace Albert Park.
c) Bathurst to enter the calendar and NOT replace Albert Park.
Hermanos Rodriguez is now on the calendar for next season as the Mexican GP.
Note: For those who want all these tracks, and more for their F1C game, here's a link. You can use Wookey's site as well, but you gotta know how to edit SCN files, as these are programmed for F1 Seven.

He can say all he wants that I turned into him, but what the hell was I going to do? That's not a wide corner at all! If I didn't turn, I was onto the gravel! He really shouldn't have been there. And as regards the incident between Scott Menard and Damon Cannon, I know I was in the vicinity of the incident, but the whole incident happened right behind me - I was in the lead, Scott was second and Damon third. So I was aware that they were right behind me one moment, then the next, they weren't, but that's all I know. As for me, I later got a puncture from debris from a seperate incident and had to pit for a new tyre, and the car just didn't seem quite right afterwards. I'm just happy to have slightly closed the gap to Damon in the championship and may the best driver win!

Damon Cannon wrote:That bloody idiot Menard! He says he didn't turn into me. Did he arsing well do so! He'd just lapped Dave McFaste by stupidly lunging down the outside of him, meaning there was absolutely no way he was going to take the line through the corner, thus going right to the grass verge. I meanwhile also lap Dave, and take my normal line, thinking that I've just taken 2nd place, when he cuts across me to try take the racing line back. I've got no-where to go but into the rear of him. I don't know what the general driving style in CART is like, but I certainly never want to experience it if Menard is an indicator. He's been driving like an absolute prat since he started in F1CC. It was fortuante that Douglas picked up a puncture from our debris, as that keeps the title race close. Barii can still mathematically win as well.

I did a good start to find myself 7th and then with the Cannon-Menard-Douglas incident it was between me and Padraig for the podium. I pressured him enough, he did a small mistake and I took full advantage. After that I went faster than both him and Zimmer and built a small gap. I started to catch Phoenix since my tires were in good shape, but it was already too late for 2nd. Anyway it was a great effort from everybody in the team and a fair prize for it!

I just kept back out of the way, and raced hard in the latter stages of the race, maybe pressuring Douglas so he ran over something to punchure his tyres. As I was on an easy win, I took a leisurely drive for the last 15 laps, giving Phoenix false hope that I had a problem and that he could pass me. Williams are happy as my win and Manns fortunate 6th, means the constructors is sewn up by a point. There is no truth in the rumours that I had a button on my dash marked "Tacks" or that I gave Dave McFaste a bottle of 30 year old Whiskey.

Autosport wrote:Melrose to drive for McLaren in 1999
The 1997 F1 Challenge Champion Daniel Melrose has today signed a contract with the McLaren team for 1999. Melrose, who was at the Suzuka track on a pair of crutches, was unavailable for comment. Ron Dennis spoke with Autosport's Jonathan Noble about the signing. "Daniel is by far and away one of the best drivers on the grid today and a great character both on and off the track. We at McLaren and Mercedes are proud to have someone of his caliber on board and we hope that this is the beginning of the rebuilding process back to the front of the grid and championship glory."

Scott Menard wrote:Well, that was a pretty good qualifying session! Not once was I caught up in traffic, and I managed to keep out of the way of everybody else. With Padraig alongside me, this is looking to be a very strong race for Ferrari. Obviously there's talk of what might happen if Damon comes up behind me again. Well, to put it quite simply, I am still going to race him. He better not expect me to pull aside just because he's in the hunt for the title. If he's championship winning material, then he should know how to pass. That's not to say I will pull cut all over him. I mean, if he gets it right, I wont try and whack him out of the race. I talked to him on Thursday, and I can say we have resolved our differences. I'm also delighted to announce that I will be staying on at the Scuderia for 1999.

Thomas De Bock wrote:Well, it's been another disppointing qualifying session, capping off a disappointing season for the team. I've been matching Pippa's pace all season, but we never really looked like regularly getting points on merit. I'd like to announce that I'm still staying with Sauber for 1999, and I'm hoping for a better car this time.

Pippa Mann wrote:Well, Thomas summed it up well, it has been a disappointing season. Although I finished in the points twice this year, I only have two points whereas I actually scored a podium and 6 points last year in that flaming joke of a Lola. I am currently in negociations with Reynard for a seat for next year. After all, they have won their first race in every series they have so far entered...

Daniel Martins wrote:It was not what I expected from qualifying... Anyway, hopefully the car will work better in race conditions and that we can score a few more points and finish the season in a high! In relation to the championship calendar I would've liked to see a return to Estoril, Portugal and have a home race but that depends on the government and disappointingly they didn't went for it. It looks promising for next year since we have a fine calendar!

Damon Cannon wrote:Oh, cock. That's exactly what I didn't want to happen. The car is nearly a second off the Williams, both of which are championship contenders. If I want this title, I've got to race for it. As Scott Menard has already said, we've both made up our differences. My comments after the race at the Nurburgring were a result of me being frustrated and angry that a opportunity to wrap up the championship had been lost. It was a 50/50 racing accident, nothing more.
I'm also delighted to say that whatever the title outcome, I will be staying at Arrows for the 1999 season. Here's to a clean race and a hopeful title. Douglas, Barii and me, may the best man win.

I can just hope that Douglas retires somehow and I win with Damon have an arguement with a Ferrari.
