That was a massive hit for Tander.

Safety car deployed and I'm under the impression that almost everyone is fueled to the finish with 42 or so laps left

Tander will start on pole ahead of Lowndes and Winterbottom. I just get the feeling after seeing the times that Kelly Racing must be in a bit of money trouble, because that can be the only reason Tony Ricciardello is driving a V8.

The Britcar weekend (not to be confused with the BTCC weekend) will incorporate a one-make V8 based saloon car series. Vauxhall VXR8s , with the intention of racing 650hp versions in 2012!!!

All that's missing now is some TV exposure and some v8 Fords, which dont really get made in Britain.

The VXR8 was a Commodore wasn't it? The Monaro was called the Monaro.

I'm going to fix this, because the VXR8 has no link whatsoever to either Commodoore or Monaro, But I can see where you got the Commodoore link though, The VX was a Commodore, however since 2003, vauxhall's racing arm has been called VX-Racing, which has shrunk down to VXR and seem to be making modified Vauxhalls rather than racing them, but that's set to change when the Insignia gets into the BTCC (I think)

Bad news, Jason Richards (driver) has cancer:
Brad Jones Racing released a statement today (Thursday) stating driver Jason Richards has withdrawn from the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship after being diagnosed with a tumor.

The statement said hospital tests performed this week have revealed Richards has a tumor in his abdomen.

“A team of specialists is planning the best course of action and the tumor is expected to be removed early next week,” it said.

“As a result Jason will not be competing in the final two rounds of the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series.

“Andrew Jones will drive the Team BOC BJR Commodore in his place.”

Messages of support can be sent via the comments section below, the Jason Richards Fan Page on Facebook or snail mail.

The team’s mailing address is 4/838 Hope Court, Albury, New South Wales, 2640.

BigPond, who is a sponsor of Jason, wishes him all the best.

Because Paul Dumbrell can be a tool at times (I will admit though that he has been on fine form this season)

Short of a meteorite taking out Greg Murphy (come on, if any driver deserves to be wiped out like that, it's Greg Murphy), it was always going to be difficult to top yesterday's race.

Which makes it funny when the other two Kelly Racing cars qualified in the top 10 (on pole for Murphy, in fact.)

Besides, Lowndes and Skaife are gonna win. It's a forgone conclusion.

And for those who are unaware, the picture doesn't show the changes to the #17, #18 and #61's liveries.

Kind of a shame about that 17 year old kid putting the car into the wall, but who is really surprised?

Here's a question for more astute fans of the series (read: Aussies): what are your opinions of the 'Car of The Future"?

No more spools? Independent rear suspension? Is this a change for the better? I was a bit disappointed when they switched to sequential gearboxes, even if may have helped the teams keep from racking up powertrain troubles.
