On the F1RWRS wiki page

Nope, that´s the official name of the Brasilia track

It's just that the name typed into Wikipedia linked me to Jacarepagua. Either way, can we go back to Interlagos?

So is the calendar almost confirmed? I know that there's a debate on what track should be placed in Brazil, but there is definitely a Brazilian GP, right?

(If so I suggest you put it near the end of the season, but not the last race, maybe second last)

The calendar is confirmed, and Brazil will be Round 3 in Brasilia. It´s a great track, plus I want to divert a little bit from F1 :)

If you hadn't already complained about having too many fast tracks, I'd ask you to take the outer circuit, because the inner circuit looks quite Mickey Mouse-ish.

Hahaha, it does! But I´ve tried to do a couple of quick races there and there seems to be loads of overtaking. I think Fuji it´s going to be loads of fun as well.

Just for general knowledge; Brazilian GP Sunday (I´m talking about Real F1) I´m leaving for two weeks to record an album. My aim is to run the Pre-Season tests over this weekend and run the Tasman GP before I leave, then the Australian GP should happen when I come back (around Dec 15th).

It´s Indie-Electronica, it will be available around March or so and it´s been planned since January!

It´s just different. But not random. Fast cars will still be fast cars, but drivers abilities will vary from dry races.

PRE-SEASON TEST #2 - ESTORIL (Wet)

The first day the track was very wet which meant teams could only get limited running in the afternoon. The 2nd day the teams were able to use inters with the track drying towards the end of the session.

1. Shinobu Katayama (Sunshine) -- 1.31.101
2. Nicolas Steele (Kamaha) -- 1.31.130
3. Thomas de Bock (Gillet) -- 1.31.295
4. Phillippe Nicolas (MRT) -- 1.31.951
5. Mirko Bosevic (Arrowtech) -- 1.32.334
6. Mark Dagnall (DGNgineering) -- 1.32.447

8. Phoenix McAllister (Phoenix) -- 1.32.610
9. Nathanael Spencer (MRT) -- 1.32.651
10. Barii Mori (Kamaha) -- 1.32.755
11. Jesus Plaza (ARC) -- 1.32.882
12. Douglas Mann (Foxdale) -- 1.33.147
13. Ashley Watkinson (HRT) -- 1.33.187
14. Nathan Scott (DGNgineering) -- 1.33.381
15. Frank Zimmer (GRM) -- 1.33.530
16. Ron Mignolet (Acuri) -- 1.33.538
17. Colin Pratchett (ARC) -- 1.33.572
18. Kay Lon (Sunshine) -- 1.33.615
19. Aurelian Moll (Gillet) -- 1.33.650
20. Daniel Martins (Arrowtech) -- 1.33.660
21. Giovanni Roda (Trueba) -- 1.33.998
22. The Stig (Phoenix) -- 1.34.114
23. Rhus Davies (HRT) -- 1.34.307
24. Gary Cameron (Prospec) -- 1.34.577
25. Hagane Shizuka (Shonan) -- 1.34.768
26. Yu Hiang Hao (Dofasco) -- 1.34.934
27. Matthias Valsattis (Mitie) -- 1.34.967
28. Sammy Jones (Jones) -- 1.35.113
29. Dave Simpson (Prospec) -- 1.35.305
30. Tomislaw Tajner (Dofasco) -- 1.35.350
31. Poppy Whitechapel (GRM) -- 1.35.508
32. Jack Christopherson (Foxdale) -- 1.36.017
33. Francois Albertini (Shonan) -- 1.36.119
34. Miko Fakkinen (Tropico) -- 1.36.354

36. Saeed Al Faisal (Mecha) -- 1.36.502
37. James Davies (Mecha) -- 1.36.550
38. Fredo Mestolio (Trueba) -- 1.37.200
39. Alexey Pchelintsev (Mitie) -- 1.37.235
40. Darren Older Jr (Tropico) -- 1.39.097

By the way; I´ve tried one thing with no hope of it working but... it bloody works!!! We can now run sessions in different conditions over the same weekend. For example; Q1 could be Wet, Q2 Inter and Race Dry... :D Rain to Dry carsets can´t be swapped within a weekend, but the main rule is that, if one of the sessions is wet or inter, then the carset will be the Rain carset for the whole weekend, except if it only rains for PreQ, which will be Wet carset for PreQ and Dry for the weekend.

Don't worry. I'm pretty sure everyone (including myself) is in the same boat*

*Unless it starts pouring with rain at Interlagos like it tends to do from time to time. That being said, the medium range forecast is saying it's going to be ridiculously cold for a Brazilian GP weekend with temperatures only just getting above 20c.

Onto MRT now and I must admit even I'm amazed by the pace of the car, particularly in Phillippe's hands. It's almost as if having the rocketship that is the MRT M5 at his disposal has unlocked a whole new level in his driving that we knew he had from his junior category results. Needless to say we're now focused on the championship and we will throw everything MRT has to offer at the car to make that a reality.

No, it will keep the same performance files which started the weekend. Somehow, I didn´t expect the track grip (which is what allow rain to be simulated) to be changed, but it worked :) By the way, in one of the race I had a massive accident in turn 1, with half of the cars spinning or going off track, but nobody retiring

I'ld imagine that GP2 would have at least some capability to simulate a track "rubbering up" over the course of a weekend which could act as a rudimentary system to represent the track drying up if Geoff Crammond's work is anything to go by.

Some great liveries there!

Pippa Mann, Foxdale team boss wrote:Well, I can't claim to be impressed with the team's performance, particularly with how our teams have performed over the past two seasons (overall championships followed by highly competitive but unreliable). I would rather be fast and DNF than slow and finish (unless everybody else in as unreliable as we were last year and we win anyway. ;) ). Hopefully, we can improve on this over the season and score better than last year... And I am hoping than Jack's engineers have a jolly decent expalnation for why he was so slow! That consistantly far off Douglas's pace, and a P45 might have to be found...

It seems that I've misjudged the top edge of the sidepods for both the Jones and Shonan liveries as you can see a small white line at the top of the sidepod. Apart from that it both look brilliant, though obviously I'm inclined to admit that the Jones car looks better! ;)

I had the bad idea to put large numbers on the rear wing endplates, and a different number on the A and B spots...with different backgrounds.

Qucik question. Is it possible that you could email me the performance files for this series? I've found this pretty cool program which can calulate the relative performance values in a performace file and translate them into a theoretical race result but the calculations needed for GP2 might be different to the ones GP4 would use.
