EDIT: This is starting to sound like another Perry McCarthy Memorial Forum championship possibility, with people entering only drivers who are related to F1 champions/rejects/etc.
That's given me another idea of another alternative championship - ban everyone who's had other relations in F1 (but not motorsport in general as that would be way too difficult to do). Which means the mid 90s will be especially good with no Schumacher, Hill or Villeneuve, and the late 80s with no Piquet or Senna.
And no Hill or Stewart in the '60s or '70s!
Doesn't that mean total Prost domination then?

Unless Nicolas Prost somehow finds a way into F1 from whereever he is currently (sportscars?)...

At the 1991 Japanese Grand Prix, there were 9 Italian drivers in the race that weekend (11 if you count the 2 that DNQ'd.) Is that a record for most of a single nationality in an F1 race?
There were 9 British Drivers in the race at Silverstone in 1973 also, also 9 in 1967 (10 if you count the 1 DNS).
Are there any races featuring 10 or more?

My guess is that the record must be in the 50's (not counting Indy). But I will let our 50's specialist, tommykl, answer that.

Faustus? I remember him talking about the teams demise and how good the Cosworth engine was. Shame he doesn't seem to post anymore..

1) redbulljack's avatar is epic 2) The link in dr-baker's signature makes me realise how much this forum misses coops' contributions.
And I'm honoured that somebody has quoted me in their signature - you're the only person to have done so I believe!

I saw Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol today, and while I was very disappointed by it, I did crack a smile at the way one of the characters (played by Anil Kapoor) is an Indian tycoon with a goatee, a wide collection of art and questionable business practices. Sound like any team principals we know?

Oh, it was clearly based on Mallya - admittedly a slicker, sleazier and younger version of him, but certainly Mallya. The similarities were just too numerous for it to be conincidence.
I don't want to go into too much detail lest I spoil the film for someone. Not that it is worth spoiling.

I missed you too. I took a year out for a couple of reasons. Firstly, as perhaps the oldest member of the forum mixing it with the children seemed a little inappropriate. I saw a commercial about men like that. Scared the bejesus out of me. Secondly, I never took a year out when I was of a studenty age, I thought Id give it a go. S'alright.

Eagleash? A child? I'm sure he'll take it as a compliment... And DanielPT and I are in our late 20's. So welcome back!

Hey Coops, we've all got a year older, but some of those pesky kids are even younger nowadays (I could ~nearly~ be wmetcalf68's grandfather) ....

Who cares about others' age if the discussion is entertaining and interesting? Even accounting for some of the antics we spring up from time to time, I have to say the level of maturity of this forum's users is staggering regardless of the age.

Nowhere near being the oldest member of this forum. There are some things you are but that isn't one of them.

Apart from Don-Tirri's Schumacher remark after Singapore, that's it I think. At least in the time I've been here. I'm sure there's been others.

Oh, yes, that one. However, that was a mere drop in the ocean compared to some attitudes I've seen elsewhere, but if I was to mention what those attitudes were, even though I'm quoting someone else, I'd probably get thrown to the wolves. Unless, of course, some of you really want to know and promise that any reaction will be resolutely wolf-free.

Snoozey reappeared as PWNSNBM & was advised he'd been rumbled & went away. He could still be here for all we know. Guest are unidentified & plenty of people are registered but don't post.

Yeah, the crude and offensive comments he posted about Thailand when a rumour of a race taking part there started to flow. A shame really, he had some good info about reject teams, but his attitude towards rule changes and new races really got on my nerves.
