I thought the same, but he said earlier on that the points he said he'd use for race 1 are actually used for race 2 (which makes sense, because it's a reverse-grid race), and vice-versa.

Sorry kostas, Wizzie might be flexible with his driver rules, but I'm not. McCracken competed in all 16 PQ sessions in the F1RWRS last year, which makes him ineligible.

I agree with that, F3RWRS should only be available to young drivers.

After David Neuberg has been promoted to the main team to help with financing, academy graduate Harry Austin has been promoted to the second Junior seat with immediate effect. Team boss Mr.Alexander was full of praise for the youngster, "Harry began with the team on work experience. He has shown a maturity beyond his years, an excellent attitude and is not scared to get his hands dirty when he needs to." With Neuberg competing with the main team for four races, he will no longer be eligible to race in F3 again. "This effectively gives Harry a decent chance to show us what he is capable of."

Maybe just as well, he was f***ing rubbish in F2RWRS, finished 2 laps down - I'm already considering firing his sorry ass

Once again supporting the main series, here at Brands Hatch, and it's Jack Christopherson Jr impressing in front of his home crowd, edging out the young Joel Melrose on his debut. It wasn't a clean session for the Aussie though, with both him and teammate Eric Swerts under investigation for blocking Alessandro Lucarelli on their in-laps. Lucarelli only managed 26th as a result, although teammate Gianluigi Pazzini managed 8th, and fellow debutant Harry Austin, driving for MA-Junior, was 11th. Championship leader Michael Cameron was solid in fifth, although he was outqualified again by Kazama. Jason Hamilton though had a shocker, completely unable to get his car working around here. Although it might not matter much, as he looks increasingly likely to be promoted to the F2RWRS.

Sammy Jones wrote:I'm delighted with qualifying, and very happy for Joel, who's really got down to work this weekend. As for the claims of blocking, there was nothing intentional about either incident, the boys are young, quick drivers who haven't yet fully developed into mature racing drivers. Situations like this are bound to occur in a junior series like the F3RWRS. I hope both Joel and Eric go well over the remainder of the weekend.
Autosport wrote:Scuderia Alitalia team principal Alasdair Lindsay fined for outburst After a mixed qualifying session, where debutants Gigi Pazzini and Alessandro Lucarelli qualified 8th and 26th respectively, their team principal Alasdair Lindsay was seen storming down to the Jones Racing garage in a fit of rage, clearly looking to lynch both their drivers for blocking Lucarelli's flying lap, which had consigned him to such a low qualifying position. After failing to find either driver or rival team principal, he instead decided to vent his anger on the equipment in the Jones Racing garage, destroying several thousands of pounds worth of gear, while loudly shouting an expletive-filled rant in every direction.
He was called to the stewards for his actions, and was awarded a $10,000 fine plus the total amount of damages to Jones Racing's equipment.

The pace was starting to come to me, but just when I was on my ultimate lap, Swerts and, I think it must have been his team-mate Melrose, became a rolling roadblock in front of me and ruined the lap. It's quite disgraceful neither were penalised when there is such concrete evidence of cheating. If they don't teach Joel fair play, he will just end up like his father unfortunately.

Kazama made a brilliant start, passing Katayama and Melrose at Paddock Hill, and Christopherson and Druids. And that was that as far as the race went. Katayama got Melrose at Druids on lap 1 as well, and Christopherson on lap 3, but the disappointment of the race was Melrose, after a brilliant qualifying he spent the entire time doing his best to hold up the field. He was good at it too, Zimmer, Cameron and Pazzini only got past when he made a mistake 2 laps from home. That just shows how slow he was though, since they pulled 10 seconds ahead in those two laps. As for the retirements, Torbani lost a sport to Soares off the start, and divebombed him at Druids to get it back. It didn't work, and he took them both out. Torbani, collecting Moyenmoutier at the same time, retired on the spot, while Soares made it to the pit lane, but the team couldn't fix the damage. Hillary King also got caught up, and managed two laps before having to come in and retire. The other major cause of failure was Dingle Dell. These cars tended to catch some air through here, and if they didn't land square on the road, they'd hit the outside kerb and trash the suspension. This happened to Passonen, Ezerioha, Cavalcanti and Jimenez. Harmsky's DNF was a tad more embarassing - he spun off at the last corner of the last lap. He only lost the one spot though, because he was at the very end of the Melrose Train.
Alessandro Lucarelli wrote:Well, there was not much I was going to be able to do from 26th. At least we made some progress up the field, I will hope for a clean qualifying in Germany next round and to score points there. This weekend has been a learning experience for sure, but unfortunately there was not much in terms of result for me. And I'm not sure how much more I can do here this weekend...
Gigi Pazzini wrote:This has been a great debut race for me, I couldn't have hoped for more! Qualifying went well for me, and that set me up for my result. It was my first race, so I decided it was better to drive a little cautiously rather than go for broke and potentially ruin my good run so far this weekend...so I got stuck in the middle of the Melrose Train. But, in the end I secured some good points for the team. I hope I can continue my progress up the standings in the next race.
