I will to some degree, but since he´s new to F1RWRS it should fall to the higher side.

I thought the same thing at various points whilst writing what I did last night. It could be perceived as just us guys near the front throwing our toys out of the pram. I'm all for this greater involvement in the series, but it must come with an opportunity for us to make our views heard.

This is something that has happened, and it's good to see it's been done in a civil and and respectful manner. I'd like to thank all those that have contributed over the past day or so in the discussion, because it seems we've made some real progress.

I'm not convinced about the pre-qualifying cup though. TMLW ran the Aguri Suzuki Cup during the old incarnation and it died a slow death after about 5 races. With the credits as an incentive that probably won't happen this time, but unless someone is prepared to run it properly then it's not worth it. I think it may be better to keep it more simple by having credits awarded through one system, in-house, and overseen by Aerond.

But what AdrianSutil has proposed is not a new series or something as the Aguri Suzuki cup was. It´s just to award points to Prequalifiers depending on their PreQualifying positions, regardless they actually passed Prequalify of not (as we see often drivers from top 6 in Prequalify failing to pass it). Then at the end of the championship we count the points and award credits to the best teams in PreQualify. I only suggested to do it in a separate thread not to overflood this one. I think is good for the series to have this as it will create more opportunities with back of the field teams to catch up.

I have also though of another formula to equalise the money. I´m not very good with maths so I hope somebody can help me out with this. What about if we make a pot with all the TV Money (4000 credits, for 20 teams) and we reversely give it depending on the number of points the teams got, with the champion getting none and 0 points scorers getting the most, or taking completely out of the equation non-scorers (which would still get 200 credits) and doing the pot among scorers?

That sounds like quite a good idea. It means we wouldn't need any additional credits or systems to balance things at the end of the year. We already have the 'TV money' system, so why not change it? I'm not sure about whether it should be just point scorers or everyone though. I'll wait and see what other people have to say about it,

Did a CART front-runner ever fail to Pre-Qualify in F1 though?! It's not really the same thing as you are suggesting...Bourdais IMO is given a hard time for his stint in F1 and Zanardi still had Top 10 finishes but just retired rather often in '99.

Reading Phoenix news I would like to remind that, if Phoenix closes his team, then DanielPT will have preference over the entry and must start a new team. If Phoenix decides to "sell" then DanielPT must be the first one to decide if he takes the team or waits for an entry to open up.

The idea of a pre-qualifying cup seems to be getting a decent amount of positive response so I'll be running it in a seperate thread. A few things I'd like to clear up first before I do:

* Im assuming the F2RWRS point system is for the top 6 so we will run that, if it's top 8 we will do that too.
* All teams, no matter how good or bad they are, are eligible for points.
* Prize money will be distributed like this:
Winner - 150 credits
2nd - 100 credits
3rd - 75 credits
4th - 50 credits
5th - 30 credits
6th - 20 credits
every other team - 10 credits

I think this is okay, as even those that finish near the back will still collect a few hundred credits for overall prize money and TV appearances.

DGNgineering boss Chris Dagnall has announced today that he´s going to send Nathan Scott home. "I don´t know for how long, but we need to improve our reliability very urgently so from the US GP onwards a pay driver is going to take the second seat. Who? There´s plentiful of choices, anyone would want to sit in a winning car. Those Scuderia Alitalia guys are doing good business, maybe one of their guys. We have three days to make a choice." The 1991 F1 Champion also had words for Nathan Scott. "I feel terribly sorry for Nathan. He´s a great racer, but we can´t afford it if we want to fight for the drivers championship. We need to keep our cars on track and putting money into reliability is the only way around it. If I can help him to find another seat in the meanwhile I´ll happily do so."

SAY HELLO TO AERORACING ENGINEERING

That's the name the new racing team formed from a consortium between racing driver Phoenix McAllister, entrepreneur Evgeny Romanov and engineer Philip Neumann will take. We have details, too, about the operation:
-The base will be set near Coventry, UK.
-Phoenix McAllister will drive one of the entries, while the other car could be driven by a young charger.
-Sponsorship will come from Spanish petroleum company Repsol and energy drink makers Dark Dog.
-Philip Neumann will be the chief engineer, the other staff being made up from young graduates from Coventry University and the Imperial College.

McAllister said: "It's fantastic. We have almost everything set up, we just don't know our engine supplier yet. The second car could be driven by the best performer from the F2RWRS entry next year. We're looking forward to it."

As for the rumours about him going to drive for Scuderia Alitalia next year, as well as said team taking over their operation, he said: "We're discussing that, yes, but we haven't reached an agreement yet. We're assesing other options too".

PS1: Can someone design a logo for the team? Thanks in advance!

PS2: If someone buys my entry, can a fixed sum (500 credits, for example) be added to the future total of starting money Aeroracing will have?

This loophole needs to be closed whereby struggling teams can shut down, then the team owner can return with a new team and get 1000 credits straight off the bat. It isn't fair for those of us who try to keep teams going on a shoestring with no chance of ever being able to afford a chassis and engine that are actually competitive.
