I am aware of that, but since ADx_Wales redoes the database as he said he was, he could change him into a player-coach, therefore not taking him out of active competition.

To be old enough to achieve that, it still puts the player at a very high risk of being automatically retired very quickly. So it's not really a sensible option...

How depressing all this chat is. I'm 40 this year guys, have a heart! As if that wasn't bad enough, Cambridge United?! Dear oh dear.

I'll gladly have my age reduced if it means my doddery old legs have a few runouts before I retire....

Ok, the following players are those in the Vanuatu National Squad/Roster/Rotisserie that were picked up by Club sides on the database, all you have to do is either Agree to play for the club from the start of the game or remain a free agent and hope the team that picked you the first time, dont.

Goalkeepers:

Jean Denis Alcatraz - Chesterfield (English League 2, the 4th tier of the English Game, dont ask why its called league 2) 12 starts in the 07-08 season, 22 goals conceded at club level, average rating of 6.17 out of 10
Ashley Watkinson - Oxford United (Blue Square Premier, the 5th tier of the English Game, again dont ask why) 14 starts 19 conceded, average rating of 6.21
Kay lon is still a free agent

Defenders

Asher Ormken - Wellington Phoenix (Australian Hyundai A-League, the only professional league in australia) 8 starts, 1 goal (doesnt say how many conceded) ave: 6.13 (Bear in mind these are your CLUB average ratings, not your Vanuatu match ratings)
Axeman Einarsson, Ed Kevin and David Kozco are still free agents.

Midfielders

David McFaste- Accrington Stanley (I'll just leave this one as it is.... :P no need to explain)
Jack Christoperson - Cardiff City (Coca Cola Championship, the GP2 of English football) Currently stuck in the Reserves , have not been picked for any first team matches.
Ashley Lilly - Preston North End (Coca Cola Championship) Currently in the reserves, but 1 first team match and one on as a substitute.
Alasdair Lindsay - Gretna (Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League), apparently they dont exist.
Ron Mignolet - La Louviere (Belgian Third Division A) 7 games for first team, Ave: 6.29

Daniel Martins and Thomas De Bock are still free agents

Attackers

Barry Morrison - Partick Thistle (Indy Lights/Nationwide Cup Series of Scottish Football) 14 games and 8 goals , Ave: 7.14
Joe Emberton - HKFC, yes thats right, HONG KONG FC, one of 10 teams from the nation of Hong Kong, there is no league in the game for this team, however, 3 games and 2 assists, ave: 7.00

Johannes Rydzek is a free agent

Chris Dagnall is already a Rochdale player, no need to free agent him, anyway, he's our Just Fontaine.

I think the problem lies in the fact that I made him a Player/Coach in the database anyway, if i simply remove his coaching abilities, it stops him from retiring sooner.

considering the first one is renamed FC Charleroi, it's probably the second, i hope so, because RAAL has a lot of mafia-related history, and by that i don't mean gambling, but investors actually being called in murder cases...

yes then it's RAAL, at that point they were in huge financial trouble (mind you that this is a team that played in Uefa cup some years before) Oh just great...

(by the way, i'm okay with that team, ending up with one of the most questionable teams ever in Belgium is pure rejectfulness)

4-5-1 is the reason we are not in the Premier League, only manager I know that uses it is that Scottish twat Alex McLeish. Since he was a player, I may have to add him to the list of my least favourite players.

-Do I call your player "Fox", "Fox McClean" or "Jeremy McLean"?

-200cm is VERY tall, I have enough GKs, The only feasible options would be for you to either be a tall striker, ideal for heading in set-piece goals, or the opposite, a tall defender, heading clear any attacks from set pieces. I have enough Strikers, you will be Defensive, I hope you wont mind that.

Least favourite player: Owen Hargreaves

- Really? Would have thought Canada's finest soccer palyer would be in your good books, or is it that he decided to be part of the England setup, or was it the switch from red to light blue? Or Both? It was both wasn't it? OK no issue here, Welcome to the team.

What's wrong with a player being 6'6?

He does not mind being a defense man, he's actually a very brilliant one. The only things he can't do with his height is kick long distance (i.e. go from one side of the field to another, he can only go to mid-field) and his accuracy is WAY off.

The Fox (To be called "Fox" on the jerseys) would like to reserve the #69 Jersey, if possible.

The main reason he does not like Hargreaves is that he spends his days in the locker room and not on the field! He also doesn't like the fact that he crossed from being a Canadian to a Englishman (The Fox has German decent, you see)

I now realize that it's called a goalkeeper, not a goaltender :S

Does he need to sign for a team? If so, he's trying to get into the reserve squad for the Chicago Fire S.C.

You'll be a free agent, a club from ANYWHERE in the world will eventually sign you up, the jersey number will only occur in certain leagues in this game; Premier League, MLS, Serie A etc. It is unlikely that you will be given the number 69, its a rare sight in soccer.

The world cup is different, because the rules state you can only have 23 players available for selection in the world cup finals, thus the only numbers available on the back of jerseys are the numbers 1 to 23.

World cup Qualifiers and "Friendlies" are different again, the traditional numbers of 1 to 11 at the start of each matchup, the #1 is ALWAYS the Goalkeeper, traditionally the numbers 2-6 are used for defensive players, the numbers 7-11 for attackers, but that can be manipulated for strategic purposes. Replacements will have numbers 12 to 20 depending on how many replacements that are allowed to be on the "bench" during the game.
