Sorry for the delays, I think I'll be able to post some results by tomorrow. Been rather busy lately...

Autosport wrote:Penrith Race to be 500 miles

The Race around the 1 mile oval at Penrith Speedway in Western Sydney is to be a 500 mile event. Dubbed "The Western 500", it'll be the first major race in well over a decade to be held at the track. "This is a great moment for the Penrith area and it's damn sure a great "Up Yours" to the council who wanted to tear down the track to expand that new suburb Jordan Springs. With this announcement, I feel the quest to find a title sponsor for the event will be made much easier" said track owner Sebastian Zimmer, father of both Frank and John and grandfather of Ryan.

The Generic Times wrote:John Zimmer to Big Car championship?

Former Indianapolis 500 winner and IndyCar champion John Zimmer is set to join son Ryan at the Walkinshaw-Prodrive team. Zimmer's age and schedule however will mean he'll only run in the oval races in the series. Walkinshaw Performance owner Ryan Walkinshaw and the Zimmers were unavailable for comment.

Finally, I propose that we add another oval to the schedule, probably one around 2 miles long just outside Hanoi

Why are you messing with the Zimmers?

Although maybe John can race the ovals. He can have a car sponsored by Holden, Ryan can drive the Ford (he's not really right in the head that way, you see).

And Melrose. I object to a 500 mile race. Penrith is in Australia. I don't care who dumb we all are out here, we still use kilometres

And it's Jack, not Sebastian.

500 miles sounds much cooler than 500km. Besides, would you rather have a race with 500 laps or 311 laps.

As to the Zimmer name, I stand corrected. Besides, messing with the Zimmers was the only idea I had that could revive this without resorting to entering a third car for MRT

800km works. But 500 miles just sounds cooler even though they're basically the same thing

Fine then. If you want the bogans to come after you, that's your problem
(Actually, they won't be bothered because it's not V8 Supercars, but still.)

If it's a case of sounding impressive, why not just call it the 800,000,000 mm race? Or the 31,680,000 inch race?

Because that would send us on a slippery slope which would lead to things like the 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 zm of Monza. That's why.

Translation: I'm going to spend 2 of MRT's points on improving the power of the engine and 2 on car reliability

I have emailed Jeroen asking for the data files he had in place for the championship. I already have xkoranate installed on my PC, so assuming I can get the existing data, I can pick up the responsibility of running the championship.

If this is not successful, I will consider starting again from scratch. But I can hardly understand the program so far :?

I wouldn't be too hasty to state that this series is dead. Depends if Kostas can get the data from Jeroen but yeah, it doesn't look good. :(

Nah, he never replied to my messages. If I can find the time & figure out how the hell to work the program I might resurrect the series, but that will be at least a month from now.

I heard that TMLW also has the program (but I probably heard him wrong for all I know  ) so maybe he can help can try to figure out how the hell it works and send his findings over to you.

Then again, he's probably busy enough as it is trying to learn the inner workings of GP4.

No, you heard right. All I've figured out though is you put names in, give them some stats and then watch as the results proceed to make no sense whatsoever.
