Alright, now that Christopherson is leaving, that means someone really needs to take the Williams seatholder position. It is open to anyone on the forum, just as long as they confirm their drivers for next year. Also, James Davies and Giovanni Roda are still on the market (Roda to Williams, anyone?).

EDIT: I just learned that Pointrox owns Tramontani.

The unexpected decision of Jack Cristopherson to leave Williams and the championship as undefeated champion has now opened up new and sensational prospects for the 1995 season. As reported by the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello sport in fact, Giovanni Roda would be very close to sign a two-year deal for factory-based Groove team. Roda's manager has later confirmed the existence of the negotiations: "Giovanni and I are looking for a better location than the Pacific for next season. However I can not say much more for now."
This year Roda, 27, failed to qualify his Pacific for all 16 races he took part in.

Well, I do believe that there is a waiting list for Williams, beginning with Douglas Mann in pole position, closely followed in second by Rory McAllister...

This is why I wrote that negotiations are in progress, while waiting for a response from Tristan. ;) So Roda takes third place behind Mann and McAllister, it would be the first positive result for him...

Would Andrew Spokes have an outside chance? A couple of poor performances at the end of the season could be put down to contract negotiations and interest from other teams....

Minardi would happily let Andrew Spokes go to Williams, we give him our full support. If that helps him getting the drive

Season Wrap-up

Alright, I finally have some time to update this. Here is the season review for the year!

Season Review: (in my opinion)

Best Race : Japan
Best Driver: Jack Christopherson
Best Team: Jordan
Best Moment: The last ten laps of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Worst Race: Hungary
Worst Team: Pacific
Worst Moment: Tie between John Zimmer losing the race in Japan and Zimmer losing the race in Australia.
Funniest Moment: When Daniel Moreno crashed into Gio van Dycke (honorable mention: everyone running out of fuel in Japan)

Reject Podium:

3rd: Geroge Tramontani: George Tramontani did nothing all season. While Pippa Mann managed to take a point at Monaco, her teammate was the only non-Pacific driver to not qualify all year. With Pointrox not responding, I think Tramontani is now effectively out of a drive at Simtek.

2nd: Pacific: Um, they only qualified for one race all year. Need I say more?

1st: Sebastien Belo: Sebastien was constantly behind his teammate and was the slowest driver in the field for much of the year. He was battling with the Simteks and Larousses while his teammate was dicing with the Jordans, Saubers and McLarens. Belo's one good drive, the Japanese GP, was cut short after an idiotic accident when he decided to not pit for extra fuel. A deserved Reject of the Year in my opinion.

Silly Season:

Luca de Montmelo has decided to take the seatholder position at Ferrari and his first act was to confirm Tom Douglas and Padraig O'Connell for 1995. James Davies is still available so Pacific might want to take a look at him. Sebastien Belo is leaving for NASCAR so we won't be seeing him for a while (I don't think the user Benetton reads this thread anymore).

So all the cars are equalised? So this question does not really matter, but is Ben Fleet racing for Pacific (as he did for most of 1994), McLaren (as he did for the final race of 1994) or DAMS (as he will for 1995)?

I meant for this race in Nazareth only. She's off to DAMS for the 1995 season!!! As the team boss!!!

Alright, let's just get this season over with...

1994 Nazareth 200

Code: Select all

1. Daniel Moreno
2. Leonhard von Gottorp +22.6
3. Damon Cannon +1 Lap
4. Mikko Fakkinnen +1 Lap
5. Giovanni Roda +1 lap
6. Ben Fleet +1 lap
7. Pippa Mann +1 lap
8. Tom Douglas +2 laps
9. Pablo da Silva +2 laps
10. Jack Christopherson +2 laps
11. James Davies +2 laps
12. Masta Valsattis +3 laps
13. George Tramontani+3 laps
14. Sebastien Belo +3 laps
15. Kazuhiko Takagi +4 laps
16. Andrew Spokes +4 laps
17. Gio van Dycke +4 laps
18. Anton Kaliniczenko + 4 laps
DNF Padraig O'Connell crash
DNF Dennis Mignolet suspension
DNF John Zimmer handling
DNF Poppy Whitechapel engine
DNF Douglas Mann wheel
DNF Eadbhard O'Caoihmin flat tyre
DNF Pieter Kickert crash
DNF Max von Hegel gearbox
DNF Samael Meerwick crash
DNF Rory McAllister gearbox
DNF Kazuyoshi Hoshino crash

What a dull race. Moreno took the lead after Mann retired and basically lapped everybody. There were some crashes, but none were very spectacular. A not-so-fitting end to the season.

I'm really happy with that. Douglas Mann qualifying in 3rd place, then Ben Fleet and Pippa Mann ending up in 6th and 7th, improving on their qualifying positions. They all enjoyed the end-of-season party atmosphere of the race and are now going on the lash, drinking plenty of Manx Spirit and stuff... 8-)

I would like to finalize the entry list for 1995 by Sunday. Williams needs to confirm a driver now. Douglas Mann is at the top of the waiting list and I believe Rory McAllister and Giovanni Roda are behind him. However, it does not really matter who said they wanted the seat first; that should be decided by the seatholder of Williams (a spot that is still open). It is also possible to be the seatholder for two teams (as I am now the seatholder of Ferrari and Footwork) so do not hesitate to take the last remaining spots.

Mild Seven Benetton Renault
Seatholder: John Zimmer
1. John Zimmer
2. Kazuhiko Takagi

Nokia Tyrrell Yamaha
Seatholder: Poppy Whitechapel (East Londoner)
3. Poppy Whitechapel
4. Gio van Dycke

Rothmans Williams Renault
Seatholder: Prince Walik
5. Douglas Mann
6. Daniel Moreno

Marlboro McLaren Mercedes
Seatholder: Don Rennis (Wizzie)
7. Rory McAllister
8. James Davies

Footwork Ford
Seatholder: Max von Hegel (tristan1117)
9. Kazuyoshi Hoshino
10. Samael Meerwick

MTV Simtek Ford
Seatholder: Christopher Monaldo (JeremyMcClean)
11. George Tramontani
12. Jorg Scrattenheim

Total Jordan Peugot
Seatholder: Leonhard von Gottorp (Klon)
14. Leonhard von Gottorp
15. Damon Cannon

Pacific Grand Prix-Ford
Seatholder: Petr Chaddheev (The Lukas)
16. Anton Kaliniczenko
17. Artiom Zielenkovski

DAMS
Seatholder: Pippa Mann (dr_baker)
19. Pippa Mann
20. Ben Fleet

Parmalat Forti-Ford
Seatholder: Francois Albertini (Pointrox)
21. Masta Valsattis
22. Sebastian Gazurek

Minardi Scuderia Italia-Ford
Seatholder: Masta Valsattis
23. Andrew Spokes
24. Mikko Fakkinnen (TBC)

Ligier Gitanes Blondes-Mugen-Honda
Seatholder: Dennis Mignolet
25. Reiko Megumi
26. Dennis Mignolet

Scuderia Ferrari
Seatholder: Luca de Montmelo (tristan1117)
27. Padraig O Connell
28. Tom Douglas

Red Bull Sauber Mercedes
Seatholder: Chris Forbes
29. Pablo da Silva
30. Pieter Kickert

Giovanni Roda
Sebastien Belo

Retiring:
Max von Hegel
Eadbhard O'Caoihmin
Jack Christopherson

OK, I need another name and who Williams will choose for next year. You can pick anyone off the free agents list and anyone who isn't confirmed yet.

OK, I guess your driver options are limited to:

1. James Davies
2. Giovanni Roda
3. A driver you make up.

Everyone else is under contract.

Don Rennis has decided to sign James Davies for the upcoming season. For the record, McAllister will have car 7 and Davies car 8
