How do I know I'm not posting nearly as much as I was a few months ago?

Because the thread where I've posted the most is still trivia question

That doesn't mean much. The thread were I posted more was the one-word thread II, which is long gone. I tend to spread my love for many threads, so that stat is barely relevant in my case.

Sorry, but that is not being retro any more. That is being more like ancient. You will never say that someone who dresses like a peasant (or a noble for that matter) in medieval times is retro! :lol:

You're looking in the wrong place. Click on User Control Panel in the top left and all will be revealed

It's indeed weird that with Dr. Baker, the info that others have is lacking...
for example i've just checked your profile, and on yours i can see more information. So either Dr. Baker has a lot things to hide from us, or either it's a conspiracy against him.

You're right - I've just checked myself and, just as you described it, all I can see is the total number of posts that dr baker has written. He isn't the only poster for whom that is the case - I clicked on Wizzie's profile link as a comparison, and he too only has the total number of posts he was written without the extra details on which thread he has been most active in.

Therefore, I would like to put forward a hypothesis that members who break the 5000 post count no longer have acccess to custom posting statistics, simply because they've posted so much and the forum software doesn't waste bandwidth parsing everything they've ever posted to gather the data

Maybe. I broke through the 5000-post barrier only recently (only realised at the 5100+ point... :oops:

) and I was able to check the stats over the Christmas break when I was sub-5000...

You are talking about two very different things there. ARPANET was the first communication network to exist and despite not using TCP/IP (A communication protocol) in the first decade it eventually embraced that protocol joining other small networks that came after and were already using it (1983). This originated the NFSNET project and backbone which became important in the development of these connected networks. When access commercialization occurred it implied the migration of these networks to better networking technology effectively ending the NFSNET backbone. This commercialization, which originated the widespread of the Internet, rendered both the NFSNET project (which its goal was to develop research and education networking) and the backbone useless. I believe that the invention of the Internet is probably going to be considered in the longer future as another of the human landmarks joining cars, press, paper, wheel, fire, amongst others. Many of you guys don't know the world without Internet and how things worked. It was a great revolution. At least that is what I believe... But enough of this!

The internet was a foreign concept to me pre-A-levels, and the only websites I remember visiting pre-university (1st time round) were Autosport and... F1 Rejects! Uni life 2001-2005 marked the time when I went from internet philistine to internet addict. And I was 19 when I started uni in 2001...

I've been more or less knowledgeable about the Internet since 1995 when my dad bought himself a new computer and a modem. Oh, I still remember the sounds it made when connecting!

But I haven't properly been on the Internet myself before 2006, when I finally got a computer of my own that also had Internet access.

I've had the Internet for nearly 7 years. Interestingly enough, F1 Rejects was among the first websites I used to visit frequently. It's probably the only one from that time that I still visit, all the others probably being various game sites.

I got the Internet with my first computer when I was about 11, so around 1998. I remember the dial-up being really good back then, but these days would be so ancient you wouldn't bother :lol:

It's just occurred to me that ever since I overtook Phoenix, I've basically been bolting from the rest of the field as I'm now miles ahead of everyone else. I'll probably need the gap though to fight off any possible challenge from Eurobrun :lol:
