Your guess is absolutely right. I'm not a member of the mentioned Forums, though, but I'll have a look at it in the near future, thanks for the tip. Actually, apart from this precious forum, I'm only member of a couple Hungarian forums there - main topic at one of them is Italian football. :)

Oh, that's right, he spent a little time in Birmingham City a few years ago. Well, he hasn't had the best of season this year, but unfortunately that's true for the whole Inter-squad. He's only on loan from Lazio, and I doubt we'll keep/buy him based on this year. I feel h could've been much better, but Ranieri never trusted him.

I hope the last sentence was sarcasm. He was a bathplugging disgrace at Lazio and has been very mediocre here at Inter. His permanent signing clause is £12M I think, that's crazy high for such an average player.

On that note, before things came good for Red Bull I believe his position was sometimes called into question, a lack of experience etc. I wonder if a bad season at RBR could put him under pressure? Certainly when strong driver management has been required he has seemed a bit weak. Criticising Webber then re-wording his comments in the aftermath for example. In the same way Vettel is fantastic when everythings going right, I wonder if a long period of difficulty would see something of a power struggle between Horner and Marko? Markos role often appears a little undefined and the overlap with Horners could cause friction.

At least thats what Im hoping....

What has been annoying me is Everyone who is saying Force India have slipped back and are having a bad season. They have scored more points after 3 rounds then they did after 3 rounds last year. The best start to a season Force India have ever had is 2010. Can people please either A)remember correctly or B) look up the facts before complaining about something.

I guess that it stems from a slight sense of frustration in a way, given that at the end of last year the team finished a mere handful of points behind Renault and were quick enough on track to pressurise Mercedes (although to what extent that was down to the rise of Force India, and how much was down to Mercedes backing off development of the W02, is something that can be debated).
Added to that, in pre-season testing the VJM-05 looked like a quite competitive package at times - if you then consider that Ferrari were, and still are, struggling for competitiveness, Williams went with a line up many considered to be inexperienced, concerns over the financial stability of the Lotus branded team and Mercedes seemingly chewing through their tyres as badly as last year (which was generally considered to still be the case up until China), and most observers would probably have thought that Force India could have built upon their success from the end of 2011 and started out just as strongly this year, rather than having to go through the same cycle of starting out slowly and gradually clawing their way back.

I guess the problem is not necessarily that Force India has slipped, but that their rivals have surged forwards, such that it makes it look as if Force India have slipped back. One other aspect was that the team themselves had partially played up expectations - although they were playing down some of the wilder predictions, their comments indicated that they expected to be at the head of the midfield, or at the very least ahead of Sauber and Williams rather than behind them.

Sauber, who were struggling for competitiveness because Ferrari couldn't match the off throttle engine maps that Mercedes and Renault developed, have turned their performance around with some quite innovative design features. Over at Ferrari, Alonso has thrashed the F2012 to its limits and beyond - Massa might be criticised for his performance, but as others have said, the F2012 would probably destroy the career of just about any driver on the grid - and really flattered to deceive in slightly abnormal conditions. If there were two
A bit further back in the WCC, Williams, having gone through hell, seem to be coming out the other side of their troubles and finally accepting that reforms need to be made, whilst their drivers seem to be doing a better job than most would have expected. As for Mercedes, well, up until Rosberg's victory in China, it looked like a repeat of last years tyre troubles, with Force India seemingly at least having the hand over them in race trim - although that now seems to have changed sharply. Lotus have seemingly shrugged off their problems much more easily than expected, with Grosjean finally beginning to reign in his over-enthusiasm whilst Kimi seems as quick as ever - so, all in all, Force India seem to be much where they normally start a season when perhaps they were expected to step up their performance.

I'm tired of people shitting on the Deltawing. Naysayers, are you really all so stiff an bland? Can't you cast aside your pragmatism for one minute? Enjoy it for what it is, as a child would; "Hey, that thing looks pretty cool, I want to see it go really fast. Let see how fast it goes compared to something not as cool." I don't care what you think the 56th grid slot is "supposed" to be used for. It's a spectacular and unique looking machine, and they really built it, and it works. Shut up and watch it go fast.

Oh, it certainly works at the moment - given that it now has manufacturer backing from Nissan, plus the fact that it is a showcase for the ACO, I rather cynically doubt that it would be allowed to fail given that there is too much money and pride invested in this project.

It may be very striking, and perhaps open up talk about the currently accepted design of sports cars, but at the same time there is the other aspect of "What next?" Once the novelty factor starts wearing off - arguably, that is already beginning to happen - is this sort of concept likely to be successful in the longer term? Is there any significant scope for development?

Yeah, I think Force India have had a pretty good start to the season. The only problem is, other teams like Sauber and Williams have also had good starts, which means that Force India haven't made as much of an impact as they could've.

Points wise, it's fair to say that Force India are doing well, however, I don't think that they enjoy a speed advantage over their midfield rivals like they did at the start of 2011, or 2010. Not only that, I don't feel like they will steadily improve this season like they did in 2011, it just looks like they are going to stay put somewhere between Williams and Torro Rosso.

Their driver lineup just doesn't seem like the one that can work together to bring them back up on speed. di Resta still has a lot to learn, and is evidently struggling a bit, and Hulkenberg is back from a year away and is still inexperienced with the Pirellis. Neither of them I believe can lead the team the way Sutil used to.

I'd say Fisichella was better than Sutil in 2009, pretty even in 2008.

And who's not beaten him? Pedro Lamy, Ralf Schumacher, Jenson Button, Takuma Sato, Ralph Firman, HWNSNBM and Felipe Massa.

Pedro Lamy was passed it
Ralf Schumacher was too crash prone in his first year
Jenson Button was too young to help with a terrible Benetton
Debut year for Sato, too crash prone
Same for Firman, too many mechanical retirements
HWNSNBM only had two races to prove himself
Massa was making a comeback after a year out

So yeah, he may have beaten these people, but he didn't destroy them.

I am getting irritated with Sky commentary about "terrible" Massa and "briliant" Alonso, especially from Croft.

"Will Massa need to burn off a set of soft tires in Q1 again?" (Ignoring that Alonso used Softs in Q1 in China also)
"Alonso is going straight out on Soft's a great tactical move from him." (Actually it was not, he so very nearly goofed in Q1!)
MB:There you can see Ferrari struggling in the low speed corners. DC:It is mainly Massa struggling with the car. (Massa then goes P3)

There were more examples and this was just in Q1.

Then Ferrari have Massa in the pits during the last 3 minutes of the session, where the track is at its best. Then the commentators slate Massa for being knocked out in the session. Alonso, who was behind Massa with 3 minutes to go, got in another lap and got in to Q3.

Raikkonen goes out of the session "Tactical error from Lotus"
Massa goes out. "Once again Massa failed to make it through."

The bias is infuriating me and it isn't limited to Sky. Yes Melbourne and Malaysia were Awful for Massa, but it is just lazy to use his previous form to describe his current form.

This is my first post in a LONG time, but the more I get involved in kart racing, this question keeps popping up in my mind:

Why do the drivers drive up on the kerbs/curbs on the exit of any given corner? Driving on them on the apex makes sense, but on the exit? They're not made of the same substance the track is, so wouldn't the drivers be losing grip and speed by driving up on them? IIRC, the kerbs/curbs are built out of concrete, aren't they?
...in bed.

They're not made of the same substance the track is, so wouldn't the drivers be losing grip and speed by driving up on them? IIRC, the kerbs/curbs are built out of concrete, aren't they?

It opens up the exit of the corner which means a driver can put the power down earlier

Getting on the kerb on the exit of T10 at Bahrain? Bad idea. No grip, as you said. But at Eau Rouge using the exit kerb on left helps straighten the line through the corner thus causing less loss of speed.

Passed it? Like... over the top? Getting too old? He was only 24 years at the time.

It might as well be a good thing in karts. But it all depends on the corner(s) and karts :)

Passed his peak. He was never going to be a superstar.

It's not impossible. In football, Antonio Candreva peaked at about 21 years old

And Lamy proved he was talented by having a fine sports car career.
