What a fantastic finish, if Hamilton had not pit Grosjean would of won.....
I was also shouting at Vettel when he pit thinking it was stupid but he proved me wrong, sharp from Red Bull.

How did Grosjean and Perez do that?

Very entertaining race indeed - amazing how Lotus and Sauber could make the one-stop strategy work when Red Bull and Ferrari couldn't. Very impressed by Grosjean - it would not surprise me in the least to see him take a win before the season's out, with a bit of good fortune on his side.

Home advantage will mean that it is HRT's race.

Grosjean wasn't exactly too far from doing just that - he was only 2.5s behind Hamilton at the finish (although Hamilton probably did back off a bit once he'd passed Vettel and Alonso). If Grosjean and Lotus can keep their current form up in warmer conditions, I wouldn't be surprised if he can sneak a win...
I half wonder whether Ferrari and Red Bull were gambling on a one stopper based on the radio chatter between Hamilton and the pits - he was regularly asking about the times that Vettel and Alonso were setting, and asking his engineers if it looked like Alonso and Vettel were trying to do a one stop. Add to that a slightly sluggish second stop for Hamilton, and I half wonder whether Ferrari and Red Bull were gambling that Hamilton would be too far back and that the slow reduction in track temperature would stop the tyres breaking down too quickly.

In all honesty, the streak will be broken next race. But if we go 8 for 8, I'd definitely put money on Perez.

I'm not sure if I would pick Kimi over Grosjean to win a race to be honest, based on recent races!

He probably would have won without that second stop by Hamilton, as it is hard to see how he could have made his tyres last any longer than either Vettel or Alonso did. As to the standing, no, at the moment Kimi is marginally ahead of Grosjean (Kimi is on 55 points, Grosjean on 53), but Grosjean probably will be ahead of Kimi in the not too distant future if he keeps up this sort of form.

Very interesting race, although slightly differently, than it's usual in Montreal.

I was happy to see some tactical gambling, even (or even more :P ) if it didn't pay off. Perez did a brilliant job - still, I can't feel sorry enough for Kobayashi; they seemed to have the same pace, but the Mexican had the best strategy, and now it's 2:0 for Checo in terms of big results which will elevate someone up to a top team.

For a few laps, Massa was in the race.

Also, what IS Button doing recently?

I always wonder why the people at the front never try something different and just copy their strategies. Surely it's worth to take a gamble once in a while?

Well, today they took the gamble and it backfired spectacularly. I've got to acknowledge that I would have done exactly what Ferrari did. Kudos to Red Bull - they gambled, started to lose and then managed to back off and save something! It took some guts to do what they did, as he was swapping 3rd for 5th on the hope of making it back to Alonso in just seven laps - over 15 seconds! The easy thing would have been to stay out.

BTW, championship update in my alternative, old money, 10-7-6-5-4-3-2-1'5-1-0'5 point system:

Hamilton 35
Alonso 34
Vettel 34
Webber 32
Rosberg 26
Räikkönen 21'5
Grosjean 21
Button 18

You can see how close it is. And how poorly is Button doing at the moment.

It is certainly decreasing for me. I think he needs a little more consistency to elevate him further away from Maldonado but the ability is certainly there. That was a very cool podium today.

Vettel would actually be the one with 35 points, not Hamilton (who would have 34).

Just saw the BBC Highlights.

All I can say is...ImageVive le GrosjeanImage

First race win is hopefully just round the corner. Perez also excellent, di Montezemelo needs to remove his head from his ass and give the lad a Ferrari drive next season.

Grosjean is clearly just a liability when it comes to early laps of racing and close-quarters battles, but quite pacey over a timed-lap.

Raikkonen has been stunningly conservative with his race strategy and attitude on the track and it's starting to cost him over his teammate. I assume he thinks he can just play the Heidfeld and end the season on more points due to finishing more races.

I noticed that he was weighed while still carrying the flag. Thank goodness he was not DSQed for that! Although, either way, we would still have had our 7th winner in as many races this year...

Or maybe they were worried about another "Is it because I'm black" rant if they DSQ'd him for it.

Seriously though, Im delighted for him. He's looked really sharp this year and the McLaren seems to be suiting his style. Top of the Championship is well deserved.

So Hamilton makes it seven different race winners in seven races so far this season...time for 8 out of 8 with a Romain Grosjean victory in Valencia

It is been bad for almost half a season, so it is conceivable that it can last the whole year. :P
