Re: Ponderbox
Pirelli have just announced their tyre compounds for the next three races on their Facebook page and I must say bringing the Softs and Hards to Silverstone sounds like a brave call as, chances are with the typical British weather and everything, one compound will simply not work. At all.

In which way won't they work? One compound will be very similar to the other or one compound will just be a complete fail with degredation?
And what are the other compounds for the races?

The latter, assuming that the Pirelli Hard tyres works like any normal hard tyre would when it comes to getting temperature into them. And assuming that they blister if the temperature's too cold.
For Canada, they're bringing the Supersofts and Softs while it's the Softs and Mediums for Valencia.

I am actually impressed with Team Lotus Enstone, they seem keen to press their actual teams history (have features on Toleman and Benetton) and of course naming the car the E20 with the stars to represent their 3 constructors titles. They are not claiming a fake history like a certain team on the grid tried too.
Danny Bahar just drags the team down, I hope he is paying them a pretty penny.

It's nice to see isn't it? My money is on another name change within the next year or two to something less controversial.

Perhaps to a different title sponsor if they can find one. Something distinctly French perhaps, like Équipe Caisse d'Epargne Mecachrome or BNP Paribas Renault F1!

I thought that the big problem with that deal was that Lotus hadn't delivered on its promises, leading to a significant restructuring of the relationship between the two sides (there was a report some time back in Autosport that the team are still using the Lotus name, but Group Lotus are no longer officially sponsoring the team - here's an old post from Adam Cooper that confirms the change in the relationship between the two sides http://adamcooperf1.com/2012/04/11/grou ... -lotus-f1/ ).
Logically, you have to assume that the team are looking for a replacement title sponsor for next year, and kostas22 has a point in that the team might seek to capitalise on the recent resurgence in interest within France in Formula 1 to pick up a major sponsor (Grosjean is now looking fairly competitive, and they have links with the French motor sport world via Boullier and Renault). If the French GP did make its way back onto the calendar - even if negotiations have stalled a bit in recent weeks - that might well boost the odds of a few French companies seeking to cash in on that success, and a major team with high profile drivers looking for new sponsorship would surely be a tempting target...

"The problem with Grosjean is that he want to take a look back at the corner he's just exited"

Orange are rumoured to have been looking to re-enter F1, I remember them beign linked to Mercedes before the Petronas deal went through. Genii have a scenario where they have a strong argument to persuade them to come onboard.
In France, Orange's foothold in the mobile phone market is being threatened by relative newcomer Free Mobile, and as a result they have launched a new brand called Sosh to try and compete. Perhaps by using both Orange and Sosh branding (perhaps the latter being focused on Grosjean's car), they can market two areas at once - direct head-to-head against Vodafone on a worldwide scale, and against Free Mobile in France.
If I were Eric Boullier I would be contacting Orange ASAP looking to get this deal done...

I think you shouldn't hold a grudge for that. That is the sign of times. I hadn't a cellphone until I was 18 and now they are practically born with them. Yes, Internet has its dangers, but hopefully his parents watch him and advise him about it. Which might also explain why he is absent from this forum...

I don't hold a grudge. I have no need to. Maybe it was a bit strong with me saying I hope he won't come back. I just don't like seeing kids as young as him (8 wasn't he?) spent too much time on the Internet or generally being indoors. I never spent much time outside as a young kid and I regret it now. Not to mention that 'playing' outside would probably break a few laws.
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
I too never spent much time outside specially after making 12/13 years old. It could have been different today, but I don't regret it. I was happy doing it at the time and so much so, that I didn't wanted otherwise. I had the freedom to chose between the two lives, luckily, so I leave it with the kids today. Its up to them to have that choice and then live with it afterwards.

I understand what you mean. Although I got berated today by a co-worker, who sent an email mind you, for and I quote "passing too much time on 'chats' and in the Internet because every time I go there you are writing on the browser". I was wondering when would that happen, actually... Guess I won't post so much from now on during the day.

Something to possibly discuss, but if HRT get rid of Karthikeyen and promote Clos, I'd reckon that'll be one of the best pairings in F1 this year. An experienced level-headed driver in PDLR with a talented hard-charging youngster in Clos. I reckon that would be a great thing for HRT.
