Niko Nurminen, the team principal of Nurminen Racing Engineering, has expressed interest in racing his team in F1RWRS in the future. This rumour originated from an insider source, reportedly "very close" to Nurminen, and it was later confirmed by himself. "Yes, there's been talks among our board of directors about a possible plan to enter F1RWRS in the future. But at the moment everything is still very uncertain, largely due to not having a lot of secured funds at the moment, but also because there's currently no room in the series and the applicant list for any future team spots is already considerably large. And bear in mind that this would be a huge jump for us, as our only current operation is in the REECS."
The Finnish Nurminen Racing Engineering originated as a privateer entry for Nurminen in the mid-90s, and their first series as an actual team was RTCC in 1998. Since then, they've been around various small series, often supporting Nurminen's cousin Nick Nurmester on his career. Their latest outing has been in REECS, where they've prepared a Lada for Nurminen's old RTCC driver Nikolai Nurmovitsch.

For the second time in only a few weeks, Scuderia Alitalia have announced a reshuffle of their test driver selection for 2015, following Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen's unsuccessful application for a Reject License.
Taking his place as the second 'young driver' tester is Icelandic racer Ólafur Ragnar Hannesson, who already has a Reject License in place thanks to his results in this year's Rejects of LFS series.
"I'm sorry for Bastiaan, but I have to thank the team for giving me this opportunity in his place," said Hannesson. "It shows the team has faith in me. I had a tough few years where I thought my racing career was over, when my drive in the IRDU Rejects Cup [in 2011] disappeared, but at the start of this year I got a call from Alasdair [Lindsay, team principal], giving me a chance to drive for his new team. I know second chances are extremely rare so I made sure to make the most of it. So this new role in the F1RWRS is a great sign for my future in racing."

Ok, I've updated the 2015 entry list to reflect what I think is the constructors championship after Japan (Prospec and ARC may need to be swapped around but I think that's about it). I'll also make a comprehensive list on who qualifies for a superlicense and under what criteria over the course of the evening

Aaaah, good times... For those that were present in the live chat, you know I've announced that McAllister would retire at the end of 2015, right? Well, actually...
PHOENIX MCALLISTER TO RETIRE FROM MOTOR RACING WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT
Renowned racing car driver Phoenix McAllister, from Spain, has announced in a shock turn of events that he was quitting motor racing completely to focus on the management of his team, Aeroracing Engineering.
"I just felt I wasn't as fast as before, and I thought to myself: Why should I be wasting time hogging a seat that could be filled with someone more fresh when I could be doing a better job taking care of things from the inside?"
McAllister, who began his racing career at the top level of motorsport back in 1997, has declared he would like someone with some experience to guide the team alongisde The Stig. The likes of Sebastian Groves, Daniel Melrose, Nathanael Spencer and even former champion Pippa Mann are being considered.
Yes, I want to focus all my credit spending on improving the car or else we don't stand a chance.
Daniel Melrose wrote:The car felt good today and points were a just reward for all the effort Jones Racing has put in this year. Whilst Sunshine is the seat that I'm hoping to get next year, I will consider offers from all teams. Except from Foxdale, because the Manns couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery let alone an F1RWRS team if their lives depended on it.

Speedline.com wrote:James Davies to ARC? It has been reported that veteran British driver James Davies has signed for ARC for the upcoming season. The former F1RWRS race winner, who was highly frustrated at being stuck in pre-qualifying with the uncompetitive Mecha team in 2014, is reportedly looking forward to the oppurtunity to race for a team that won't consistently fail to pre-qualify. Neither the driver or the team were available for comment.
Dofasco in financial trouble? Anonymous sources tell us that the Dofasco F1RWRS team is experiencing considerable financial strife and may have to withdraw from the 2015 F1RWRS season. The team has struggled in prequalifying for the whole season, only managing to pass and make a race start twice. Adding fuel to the fire of these rumours is the fact that the team were selling off various tools and equipment, apparently as a desperate attempt to try and make money.
Pacchia engine tested! We have been informed that a modified version of the engine that the Pacchia team uses from 2010-2012 has been tested in the back of the 2013 HRT chassis. The car was driven be former F1RWRS driver T Hemo Goblin and the car was prepared by experienced British team Worldsport, who are not believed to be planning to enter F1RWRS in the near future. The results of the test were not released to the public, but they were said to be highly promising. Pacchia plan to enter F1RWRS as an engine supplier in 2015.

We can solve this very quickly; My vote is NO. I´ve just been checking Damon Cannon past results and a best finish of 8th doesn´t make the cut.
Be fair, the only teams he's driven for are CR and SOTL. I personally think he showed enough competence that he's deserving of at least a test session to prove he can drive at competitive speeds.

Yes, that is a good idea, and also if he isn't given a superlicense he won't be able to ever get one as he has run too many F1RWRS races to go back in to the F2RWRS and get a superlicense that way.

This situation just shows up how overly strict the superlicense rules are for former drivers. It's not as if Cannon did anything to suggest he's undeserving of a place in F1RWRS and it's not his fault he ended up at SOTL in 2013 with zero hope of getting past PreQ. He was never outperformed by any of his team-mates (except at the 2012 Bavarian Grand Prix and we all know that doesn't count ) and never did anything uber-rejectful so I think it would be pretty outrageous to stop him driving in 2015.

Besides, if Groves gets the Phoenix drive, there will be a free spot on Hydook. But I'll wait until nobody is interested before going that far to replace McAllister. Phoenix might also hire Johnson, Prost, Hannesson or Buyvolov since they finished in the Top 5 (since ARC hired Battani), or the number of people who have won a feature race (that I'm not going to bother to check).

As Olafur Ragnar Hannesson's agent, I can officially rule out him moving to F1RWRS next season. My five driver quota has already been used up. He will be a ZimSport driver in 2015, end of story.

Damon Cannon is most displeased at the superlicence rules. However, he is willing to take part in a test session at a track of the F1RTA's choosing to earn his superlicence.
If this fails, I'll have to somehow shoehorn Richie White back in to F1RWRS action.
