You better win the title for Hinchtown, Mayor. Failing that, at least beat the two Target cars.

Speaking of the Target cars, what the hell has happened to Dixon this year?

I didn't even realise there was an indycar race this weekend, happening on a Saturday on Le Mans weekend really took me by surprise.

I've got to admit, going against the 24 Hours of Le Mans was a stupid idea... who is the idiot who planned these races? Sadly it gets worse as they've put the Mid-Ohio race during the Olympics... :|

I'd rather watch IndyCars than Le Mans, or the Olympics. And I'm one of the few British people that's half-interested in the Olympics. Sadly, my TV package doesn't include IndyCars...

I watched almost the entire Milwaukee race and felt very lazy when it came to seeking out for a streaming to watch Le Mans.

Sorry, LM24, but I do really like single-seaters, hehehe

EJ Viso, what the hell was that all about? Going on like a pork chop was bad enough, the fact you caused the accident to begin with makes it inexcusable.

Believe it or not, Will Power was the one who apologized to Viso. Normally it would be Viso's fault.

He had nothing to apologize for. You can't chop someone off on an oval track at the last second like that. Period.

Where did it say that? Maybe I'm just sleepy, but I can't see where it said Lotus couldn't use it...

...also, Bourdais's top 10 finish in the Lotus comes from him being one of the 5 best IndyCar drivers in the past 10 years.

I believe that Lotus had already received permission to make some modifications to their engines under the current regulations - Autosport reported back on the 23rd June that the governing body has considered and approved their proposed changes. Given that, I guess that Lotus's planned modifications were already taken into account whilst the proposed new push to pass system was being drawn up. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/100657

He qualified pretty low in his Lotus in Barber, so there's definitely some credibility there.

(crossing in from the NASCAR thread)Now that Andretti has bought the Dodge NASCAR engine deal thingy, could a Fiat-Chrysler transition into IndyCar be possible?
maybe the return of Alfa?
Image
or influence from Chrysler at all?

Any Alfa that comes to America will be badged as a Dodge. The Dart is coming back to American buyers in 2013 and it's essentially an Alfa Romeo. That being said, I'd love to see a Dodge IndyCar. There were talks that Dodge would pair with Cosworth... just imagine that, a Dodgeworth. :D

Anyway, IndyCar put this out, and I think it's worth a look... Where Engines Stack Up

Shadaza wrote:Seriously that top 10 finish has got to be up there as one of the drives of the motor sport year.

Bourdais is really that good. In 2006 he would regularly go a second and a half quicker than the rest of the field and be saving fuel. He did the same thing in 2007 when it was a spec series (only year Champ Car was truly a spec series) too...

Thinking about it now, I'm not sure I do either. I'm not sure the series needs them, or that the racing would benefit either. I might be more interested in a second tire manufacturer, but I don't see that happening. Ultimately, it's most important that Lotus be helped to survive, or that they are replaced with someone more capable.

I saw them on Google images, so wether they are genuine or not is a bit questionable.

Not as hard as Lotus (although they seem to have gotten their act together and are on the pace for a change) and Ed Carpenter, because Marco's at least been fast in some of the races this year, but overall he's been getting destroyed by Hinch and Ryan Hunter-Reay.

Top 4 on the grid;

Franchitti
Power
Wilson
Bourdais

My body is not ready.

If Bourdais wins, it will be a serious kick in the balls to Paul Tracy, because they're tied on the all-time win list at 31... and this would have been Tracy's home race. Will be pulling for SeaBass and Dale Coyne as usual though.

The Chevy engine is being built by Ilmor. That's the connection. The Dodge would be a Cosworth... err... Dodgeworth

If you are talking about the accident with Bourdais, I'd say it was a racing accident. Interesting to see that with all the restart chaos, Sato wasn't involved in any of it. Even with that spin in the last lap, Barrichello takes a good 11th place after the rather questionable performance in practice and qualifying.

I'd say maybe, but the penalty given to Kanaan was BS. Other than those two incidents, I thought the marshals did OK. How does Hunter-Reay win ah-gain? Power will have a resurgence, he always seems to do sod-all in Toronto.

A late stop for fuel hurted barrichello's race. He was running in 5th in final laps.

Also, talking about KV, why didn't Tony defend your position in last laps?
