To be extremely honest I'm surprised that no one has gone for the obvious solution yet.

The pits are located on Tiger Brennan Drive, parallel to the start/finish line. The only road that would need to be built is the pit exit.

Pits would be on the Stuart Highway, parrallel to the race track and First Avenue, alongside the two-kilometre marker.

Got bored and made an extention to Laguna Seca.

Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
Sullivangate, this is a track designing competition,so your track idea can be moved over to the "Reject rack design" thread in the Eric van de Poele Forum.
Anyway,Here is my track:http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5564221.Start-finish is on intersection of Stuart Highway and Hidden Valley road.Pits goes from beginning of straight to the intersection after Hidden Valley Road.
Also,JeremyMcClean,BaconLettuceNinja, eurobrun and Wizzie each have to post where is their pit lane as that is part of the rules of the circuit brief.
Anybody else who wants to design a circuit on the Northern Teritorry to enter only has 4 hours-ish remaining.

Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
The chicane on Rothdale Road (at the point where the two consecutive markers are) goes up to the start-finish straight. Hence, the pitlane is accessed by going straight on instead of the chicane. The exit filters out just before Boyle St.

Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
Okay, the next round!
1) The circuit must be in Africa.
2) It should be in a country that could reasonably afford a Grand Prix (so South Africa, Egypt and Morocco are probably your best choices).
3) The circuit must contain a Suzuka-style flyover.
4) The circuit should be between 5.0km and 6.5km in length.
5) You may build additional roads, but you may not destroy any existing buildings when you do so.
6) Additional roads must be kept to a minimum.
Go!

Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
48 laps of racing fun await the fans at the first Ethiopian Grand Prix, enter the...
Mek'ele International Street Circuit.
A track of 6.348 km length on the beautiful streets of this city in the northern part of Ethopia. After starting the race with two (nearly) 90° turns, a fluid set of corners lead to Turn 8. Turn 8 is something very special since is on a purpose-built flyover that can be removed and built up within the space of 72 hours. For races where a longer track is not needed or may be considered undesirable, the bridge and the part that follows it can be left out, turning the track into the Mek'ele National Street Circuit, a quite fast street circuit with a distinct likeness to Surfer's Paradise despite having no water in sight. Anyhow, the International Circuit now enters a vicious part which goes against the nature of the major part of the track with slow corners (a number of which are 90° turns), challenging both the driver himself and his setup skills. Dashing underneath the bridge, cars can win a lot or lose a lot in Turn 24. After the following chicane, a possible DRS zone opens up on the straight between Turns 26 and 27. Should that make overtaking too easy, the following straight leading to Turn 28 is another option. Heading into Turn 29, the cars brake one last time before going all-out to the checkered flag, Turns 30 and 31 being just de facto turns which can be taken at full throttle.

The Ghana Grand Prix in Accra: http://i.imgbox.com/adhfeFAR.png
Circuit begins over the bridge, and goes up to the 90-degree left-hander.
The first part of the track is a test of cornering and low-speed downforce, the second part a test of speed and navigation of the fast corners.

It's too long, I'm afraid. The circuit must be between 5.0km and 6.5km. Yours is 6.23 miles, which is about 10km.

Exactly the same loophole crossed my mind! Thus, Gran Canaria:

With 2, yes TWO!, crossovers at each of the dual-carriageway intersections.

This doesn't seem to be working, but I'll describe the track before making an other attempt at making it visible. It features two flyovers, both of them being bridge entries. The first part of the circuit is fast and flowing, with only long straights and quick corners. Both flyovers, actually 270 degree curves, are also included in this part. After leaving the second bridge, the circuit hits the smaller roads in the center of the city, with many 90 degree corners that will confuse the drivers and engineers before heading back onto the Ring Road and the start-finish straight.
Oh, and it's in Lagos, Nigeria.
