Sauber Chairman Mr Gerald Pereria would like to cast his vote on replacing Mexico with Kylami, stating about the point that the whole of Africa needs a race for itself to truly make it a world championship.
My friend's USB drive spoiled, spilled tea on her laptop and had a bird poo in her hand.

What did she do in her past life to deserve this?

We second this, and would also like to see Argentina back on the calendar.

The Mexico Circuit will be removed from the calender due to safety concerns. The following four circuits have placed their bid as the potential replacement.

Sepang, Malaysia- A brand new purpose built race circuit not far away from the capital Kuala Lumpar, the circuit is built with full modern pit complex and state of the art facilities and is largely financed by petrol/oil company Petronas. The main purpose of the race is to attract a larger Asian market to Formula One and to place Malaysia on the map as a tourist destination. This is seen as the preferred option by the FIA chief, Chris Forbes.

Indianapolis, USA- Based at the legendary Indianapolis circuit, the road course is constructed in the infield of the famous 2.5 mile oval, with the large banking making up part of the circuit, naturally facilities are top notch and used to handling upwards of 50 cars, so F1 is not a problem there. USA has always divided opinion, with many manufactures keen to impress an often not too keen American public.

Kyalami-South Africa- Kyalami paid host to two grand prixs in the earlier on in the decade to showcase a post Apartheid country to the world, also the circuit is an attractive proposition as the race would include the African Continent and make the series "Truly global." Question marks do remain over circuits capabillity to host a grand prix considering the tight spaces and lack of runoff, though the circuit is popular for fan and driver.

Buenos Aires- Argentina- Having narrowly missed out on a spot on last years calender, the Argentinean's have once again placed a bid for their circuit, Argentina offers a Grand Prix on a proven circuit where facilities are ok and there is a reasonable fan base in the beautiful Buenos Aires area. The organisers promise a tourist haven.

So these are the four options to vote for, many of you have already announced which circuit they prefer, but the time for official voting is now. There is also the option to abstain.

Sepang:
Indianapolis: 9 (Minardi, Honda, Champions, Gauthier,Nissan, Ferrari,Chevrolet, Jordan, Al Melling)
Kyalami: 8 (Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, Sauber, BMW, Lola, Arrows, Benetton, Yameha,)
Buenos Aires:
Abstain:

Minardi would like to thank Arrows for the offer of Sebastian Bourdais, but will politely decline as other drivers are currently being assessed.

We also would like to vote for Indianapolis as the track to replace Mexico City.

The Champion's Council has always said that it consideres a race in the United States extremely important which is why we vote for Indianapolis as new F1 venue.

The IRL is a complete joke, they'll probably die off completely in 3 or 4 years with or without our money. And I think now that Chevrolet and Jeff Gordon have joined F1, we have a very real chance of making sizable inroads into the American market.

Says Chevrolet, who are backing the IRL through their sister brand Oldsmobile themselves. Wouldn't make me wonder if Chevrolet was even using a downsized IRL engine for F1.

OoC: If I wasn't running an Indy-style series already, I'd call for our own version of the Indy Racing League. I mean, modestly rich but fat team owners, who spend money to race on ovals all year long, yet just happened to hijack the biggest open-wheel race in the United States. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Lola would like to stress the fact that the tire degregation on the Indianapolis course - at least the oval, anyway - is very high, meaning frequent tire changes with the current tires supplied by the teams, or the development in what is basically bulletproof tires - which I would think the tyre manufacturers would not want to spend extra money on. Therefore, we will transfer our vote to Kyalami in an effort to not have Indianapolis on the calendar - and we ask all those who agree with us to do the same.

Having consulted our drivers, Arrows vote for Kylami. We would also like to confirm Mark Webber as our test driver for 1998, and if no team wishes to give Sebastian Bourdais a drive, he will also be a test driver.

Williams (also not 100% on their drivers) Jordan, Yameha and Al Melling. I will end the voting in a few days.

I did email the save game to Nuppiz for engine adjustments. I think that is the next step. Then I will run testing. The pace will pick back up soon don't worry.

Yeah, got the results here right now:

Yamaha: None specified!
Chevrolet: desired 7kg, got 7kg 100% SUCCESS
Ferrari: desired 15 hp, got 15 hp 100% SUCCESS
Alfa Romeo: desired 15 hp, got 15 hp 100% SUCCESS
Mercedes: desired 20 hp, got nothing COMPLETE FAILURE
Nissan: desired 10 hp, got 9 hp 90% SUCCESS
Al Melling: desired 20 hp, got 20 hp 100% SUCCESS
Honda: desired 10 kg, got 10 kg 100% SUCCESS

If Yamaha want to upgrade their engines, then do so by Tuesday 4th September, 12:00 CET. After that I'll send the savegame back to Shadaza and you won't have a chance to upgrade until the next season.

Al Melling votes for Buenos Aires, not only to be difficult, but also, because we don't have a supply deal in place for next year, we don't want to influence the result yet don't wish to abstain either.

Plus we wish to seek to get a 50 bhp upgrade on our engines (not that it's going to help us get a contract at this point of the (off-)season...).

So I don't really rate the chances of him coming back to this.

So I don't see any problem with you taking over the team. Welcome Chairman AndreaModa.
You are taking over the team that came 2nd to last, double DNQ on the last race of the season and have no drivers nor an engine contract. See it as a fresh slate :D.

I had IRL issues around the end of May, so sadly hobbies and things like this went off the boil (including my poor blog). Sorry about dropping off, I checked in every now and again to make sure the team was still chugging along, but I couldn't join in. AndreaModa, you have my blessing to take over Minardi, but remember that the team's independent status is core to their identity - and despite his sponsorship, Ukyo Katayama is a very naughty boy.
