1979 Canadian Grand PrixThis was the first race to be broadcast over a live chat, so there wont be a full report. Thanks to everyone who attended.
Qualifying

Race

The biggest crash of the year occured on the first lap, where Rene Arnoux put a wheel on the white line approaching turn 4 and spun through the corner into the outside wall, collecting McAllister and Takagi. Lauda, Prost and Lees were caught up in the incident, while Harvey Jones and Jan Lammers had to pit for a new rear wing and front wing respectively. Brancatelli, Rossler, and Patrese had a sepeate incident further back, and the resulting mess of both crashes brought out the safety car for the first time this year.
Scheckter still lead from Villeneuve, and when the safety car came in, he pulled away from Villeneuve and stayed there till the end of the race. Kevin found himself 15th after the restart, but put in 60 laps of determination and speed to finish 14th, while Alan Jones managed to get on the podium for the second time this year.
