I guess it's because Autodynamics has Red Bull ties through them being their main sponsor.

But that wouldn't make them related though. Can you say Red Bull Racing and Citroen World Rally Team are related just because the paint scheme looks similar?

Autodynamics own 25% of RBWRT, 50% is owned by Red Bull themsleves and the rest is owned by some invesors. RBWRT was created in 2012 as a Red Bull young driver program and Autodynamics has existed since 1980

I'll try and get the wiki updated before my Manufacturing Tech lecture tomorrow, but here are the Reject(s) of the Race(s)...

Race One: Bjorn Ekdal - Something of a dreadful performance compared to Adelaide; had a piss-poor race which was a hangover from a disappointing qualifying.
Race Two: Tuomas Shukinen - Needlessly ploughed into De Boer on the first lap which stopped the American's race (and it was a race he had the potential to do rather well in). A penalty will have to be considered for this.

If the other team owners agree, I could put the qualifying performance up by 2bhp and reduce the failure rate a little.

Right, so that's 5 teams in favour (one would assume the 3 Toyota-powered teams would agree to a slight increase in Quali performance).

If we get a majority, then it will be implemented in time for Monaco.

DMR will also be voting against the proposal, as it is rather unfair on smaller teams like us that don't run Toyota engines.

I guess this might be a no-go then...sometimes I think I'm a little too democratic but that's the way it is.

Toyota users - I'll allow you to take the plunge to take a VW engine if you wish. Otherwise, I'm afraid it stays the way it is for the moment.

Oh, and I almost forgot - Tuomas Shukinen will receive a suspended 25-point performance deduction for his part in the collision with Jerry de Boer. If he performs another action that could be seen to be dangerous then this penalty will be applied.

I'd like to hear some good reasons why people were against it, rather than to be assholes or because they can. Only one person actually came up with a good one.

And I think I can only count four against and one neutral, compared to the five for it.

I know, and I'm still waiting for a few votes. I was just anticipating what might be to come...this will be so much easier when it's a spec-series.

Anyway, here's a thing, I hope you enjoy it...

Not being a douche, but since my team is using Mecachrome engines, I believe we would be one of the teams to lose the most from this initiative. That's how politics work, get used to that.

Exactly. I agree that the Toyota-engined teams have a bit of a bum deal in all of this, and were I a team owner in this I'd oppose the idea unless the Volkswagen teams got their race specs boosted, because currently neither my driver nor AdrianSutil's, both of whom are in the same team, stand a hope in hell of winning a race when the engines lack so much. I guess there's two ways to get round it all, firstly to leave everything alone until next season, or alternatively bring all the engines up to parity now. As I'm not a team owner, I'm not fussed either way however.

As I might have said before, I'm leaving it as is for the rest of the season as I'm sure some interesting things will happen. There's a few races that might play into the hands of different engine users; if you remember the Toyotas were quite handy around Fuji so there's more potential circuits that they might do well on; on the other hand there's probably a few circuits that will play more into the hands of the VW cars. The potential for a wide spread of results is why I'm reluctant to suddenly drop everything and change it.

However, it will be a spec series from 2016 onwards, with some kind of upgrade system or something implemented to ensure that there's some player interaction.

Once again, I can only apologise for aspects that aren't flawless; I just did what I thought would work.

I'd be fine with letting the VWs gain extra race power, in the interests of fairness.
And Phoenix, that's all I needed was a decent reason. Although the Opel teams would probably have more to lose considering they have, what, 4 of the top 5 teams? And take away RBWRT's win and Roter Baron's 2nd, how many points do Mechachrome and Toyota have?

Oh and ah, Monaco will have video coverage as the person in the room next to me in my halls is away for the weekend. This means I can commentate freely without feeling too conspicuous...

Hopefully it will be enjoyable for all of you; it will be in the style of a highlights package (and if I can work them out, an appearance of late 80's style grid graphics...).

Yeah...the race was very un-videoworthy because it wasn't exactly littered with excitement.

I'll spare you all the pictures this time unless requested; I didn't take screenshots but I can go through the race again and take some if you want. If nobody really cares, I'll just slap the results down this week.

Anyway, the quali results for Monaco:

Race Results:

I guess nobody really cares for pictures; and again I apologise for the lack of a video. I was editing it, and realised that there was very little good material that would actually interest people.

The only noteworthy things were the retirements; Silva had a transmission failure and ploughed into the wall, and Mestach's car suffered a puncture coming out of the tunnel stopping at the chicane.

Pacer had a good start though, rocketing off the line past Shukinen and producing quite a strong lead. Rosenforth will also be pleased with their afternoon as they got a strong result on a track that was thought to suit the VW cars more. De Boer also got his first points of the season after a spell of horrendous luck.

ROTR is Stan Frankham, who managed to not only qualify poorly but slipped to 21st. Rather poor on a track where overtaking is usually at a premium.

Anyway, back to the race - Gary drove well and deserved that win, but lest us not forget that Alexis also put in a stunning drive to finish in the points. Well done to both of our drivers and to everyone in the team - fantastic work guys keep it up! I think what this shows most of all is that Plus One can find talent, and we can mix it with established teams and put up a decent performance.

Foster's is all the rubbish stuff that we send over to those naive Poms over in the Motherland. We keep all the good stuff for ourselves
