Or probably because there isn't any obvious ROTR candidates yet. (Will Caterham finally get the award they deserve? Stay tuned...)

Based upon quali results, yes, Caterham is a close candidate for that.

I nominate Kai Ebel from RTL as ROTR, for his abysmal singing of "Happy Birthday" to Bernie Ecclestone. Seriously, sucking up AND horrible singing is pretty rejectful.

I'll go on a hunch and say the probability of tyres being punctured on front-wing endplates, which narrows down to half-half for endplates and punctures

Pirelli for being ultra conservative (when was the last time there was a one-stop race? I'm willing to bet in 2010)
STR's front wing endplates - did someone replace them with a knife?
RBR's KERS - Why can Red Bull design everything on the car to be perfect except for Vettel's alternators and Webber's KERS?

easy to blame the circuit when tyres don't degrade like at the start of the ssn --> nowhere that much action. It's been the same whole season, when noone has a tyre advantage.
Therefore I would award this to whoever designes these rules so that cars can't follow each other close enough (although that might be more of a ROTY worthy nomination); seriously, get rid of the aero, it can't be hard - even IndyCar has managed to create a car that can achieve that. Really, do it Now.
honourable nomination to Sauber drivers .... duh.

1. Pirelli - Conservative. Boring. Way too durable. One stop strategy should not be the norm. Hembry really should've known better.
2. Raikkonen - Turned up. Drove. Stuck behind Massa for 60 laps. Didn't do anything about it. Went home.

I presume that you are ignoring Monaco and Hungary due to the exceptional nature of those circuits - anyway, there were a few one stop races in 2011 IIRC (wasn't the Brazilian GP one such race?) towards the end of the season as the teams got to understand the tyres more thoroughly.

Pirelli - for having sidewalls with the thickness of a Rizla. Rubbish.

Actually, is a 2-in-1 RotR here:
Buddh International Circuit take the main cake for being more boring than this year's Monaco. I swear that I was asleep, seeing the Red Bull mountain climb, and then, the race end![Surprised :o](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
Which gives us Hermann Tilke for his lack of sense about how a race track for motorsports should be. Sack him, for Christ's Sake!

This Race: Really any time I leave before the halfway point of the race it is not a good sign.
Re: where is the 2012 Indian GP reject of the race thread???
3rd: Sauber F1 - At one point it looked like Pérez could save the team from another disappointing performance, but ultimately that didn't happen... and Kobayashi was anonymous.
2nd: Mercedes AMG - The silver arrows get the silver award. Their performance gets more and more disappointing with each race.
1st: Pirelli tires - Whatever effectiveness the double DRS had in promoting passing (not much IMO) was negated by the super durability of the compounds chosen for this round (less pit stops). That track induces a low wear rate, and (I think) a Super Soft/Medium combo would be more suitable than the Soft/Hard combo chosen. Add to that the exceptional number of burst tires (though this might be more down to the drivers...)

Re: where is the 2012 Indian GP reject of the race thread???
I'm quite glad the BBC actually only had highlights for this race because I don't think I could have sat through the whole thing! The Monaco F1RWRS race was much better, and that was just text!
I actually think the circuit itself is quite good, I just think Pirelli were too conservative, and the DRS zone was a little bit too long. If it was just a bit shorter it would have made most of the passes a lot more interesting.
As for an actual ROTR nomination, I don't really have one. No-one was particularly rubbish, it was all just rather dull really.

Re: where is the 2012 Indian GP reject of the race thread???
1. The Race: I didn't even bother watching it, because I knew with the qualifying how everything would turn out.
2. Pirelli: Way to conservative. Imagine how much more exciting the racer would have been with less durable tires. I miss the tire wars.

Weirdkerr for overreacting.
But seriously
The Indian Grand Prix - Dreadfully dull, the only interest being when a driver got a puncture. Which leads to our ROTR, which is...
Pirelli! - Have they hired a load of ex-Bridgestone workers or something? Why are the tyres practically made out of stone? And puncture so easily. Paul Hembrey, I am disappoint in you.

I agree that those tyres shouldn't be puncturing that easily so would vote for those.
In terms of drivers, the only one that springs to mind is Maldonado, for being thrashed by Senna for most of the weekend.

Oh, and HRT in general. They *really* need to sort out those brakes or someone may get hurt - somewhere like Brazil is not the place to have a major brake failure.

Although the race wasn't the finest of the year
I don't really think the track is to blame: of all the Tilke abominations, this is one of the best IMO, and also the drivers like it (not the fans though judging by the empty seats..)
My ROTR is Kovalainen, for being all over the place most of the weekend, and finishing comfortably behind Petrov, and uncomfortably close to Pic..

Front wing endplates. This whole "designed to not puncture tyres" thing they're supposed to have isn't really working.

Really? Because I heard on the Sky commentary that the regulations were changed to make them rounder or something like that. Maybe I'm just misremembering.

I'd imagine that rule was brought in for 2007 after Schumacher got his rear tyre punctured by Fisichella's front wing at the Brazilian GP the year before.
