ALSO: when are Chevy going to reveal their new nascar design? i recall someone saying before the end of the season, but so far all we have is Tony Stewart's new livery on the current template. it would be funny if they found a loophole in the new "win on sunday, buy on monday" rules and came up with another "Aerocoupe" body like back in the 80's. that thing in buick and chevy form was unstoppable.

one last thing.... any word on Dodge? or are they still leaving?

TThe new chevy is that black and white monstrosity in the testing pictures. Its going to be the "Chevy SS" which will be a rebadged Holden (because you know that crappy GTO remake sold so well  ). No details on its looks as GM hasn't revealed what the actual Holden will look like yet. As for Dodge they annouced a few months back they were done after both RPM and Furniture Row spurned them. Conpiracy theorists (of which NASCAR seems to have many more than any other sport) are howling that this is the "only way" BK is leading the championship and that "its rigged" that he will win to convince Dodge to stay, or least send them out on top. Because, clearly that makes sense......

i knew the chevy was going to start next season as it's seen in tests, but the Aerocoupe didn't rear it's head until mid '85 season or so, might get some production based nascar upgrades to use on the race design

Take those with a grain of salt, but basically its going to be a V8 Malibu. Yawn.

It'll be based on the new VF Commodore that Holden are desperately trying to keep hidden until February but which Chevy are trying to ruin
But knowing what the Americans do to Aussie cars (I still can't believe Pontiac got away with ruining the front end of the Monaro and the VE), it'll be ridiculously ugly.

Which would be one of the daftest decisions I've ever seen considering that the V8 COTF is already being tested by both Ford and Holden.

yes, the chassis and other trivial bits like suspension, but i'm sure the actual body design of the car will change.

Not at all. Look at SBR, they recently tested their first COTF. What was it? An Falcon, not an E63. It's only aero testing that VF panels are needed for, which is conducted by V8 Supercars, not the teams.

Won and took the points lead by two over Kez. I honestly think Johnson will have it, unless they have a rare engine failure or Kez and Paul Wolfe pull some more magic outta their hats.

I have a question for somebody who knows a lot about NASCAR regulations. If a new manufacturer were to enter NASCAR, would they have to enter all three major series (Cup, Nationwide, and Trucks)? Or can you, for example, enter just the Cup?

I'm not an expert, but Toyota entered Trucks first in 2005 (?) before moving up the ladder.

I think it may have been earlier, maybe 2003 or so. I think you can enter Cup and Nationwide? only, considering Dodge left Trucks officially a year or two back, and it could be the same for Ford. Most of the trucks these days are Chevrolets and Toyota. But I really don't know for sure. And NASCAR doesn't publish its rulebook, so it's very difficult for the average fan to know every single rule, though I could be wrong.

That moment when good (not clean) racing between Clint Boyer and Jeff Gordon implodes.

And when Jimmie Johnson crashes.

Saying how the final 5 laps of the race turned out was unnecessary would be the understatement of the decade in Nascar. So much stupid, in terms of the drivers and the Nascar Officials. A lot of people will need to look themselves in the mirror before they go to Homestead.

They also have to have a plant in the United States, which actually turned someone (I think Volvo) away.

Also, we saw the Jeff Gordon of 1997 again. What a whiny sack of shite... Brian Barnhart and Randy Bernard must have been in race control, because that last stretch pileup was the stupidest thing I've EVER seen.

Wow. And fans wonder why people don't take NASCAR very seriously. The entire field is chock full of egomaniacal whiners who wreck and fight each other to preserve their enormous egos. Good on Keselowski for finally pointing out the ridiculousness of the situation and the double-standard that he and others are held to (although he could have shaved off a few f-bombs). What the hell was everyone thinking?

That was a fun race to watch hammered at my batchelor party, let me tell you! First off, NASCAR screwed up by not parking Jeffy for new weekend. They parked Kyle last year, and the similarities are there. Kyle wrecked Hornaday last year when he was out of the hunt, ending Ron-Ron's title bid. Jeffy ended Boywers on Sunday. Bowyer did nothing wrong here IMO (although I'm biased, I've sprinted down the pits after people myself, and I one reason I'm not welcome at Island Dragway anymore  ) but I find it funny how on NASCAR boards many people are defending Gordon. The best line I heard was "Gordon was blackflgged and clearly pitting, why would Clint try to pass a pitting car on the outside?" Nearly all these Gordon defenders then slam Toyota in there post, so obvious troll is obvious. I love irony though, these people are the ones ten years ago bashing Gordon as "that California pretty boy driving them funny open-wheeled forgien cars!"
