Re: F3RWRS - Yet another feeder series
I'm getting ready to run the US round (yes, it's early, but it takes me a while to run these things so a headstart is always good ), so:
1. I'm assuming Brown will race for JLD, but I just want to be certain.
2. Tristan, is Zayas going to race for ZombieKart, or is he sacked?
3. This, I assume Lamberigts will return for Octan.

Zayas will be replaced by Hershall for the foreseeable future.

In that contract will be a clause allowing Nurmester to switch to Jones at any point during 2015 should Swerts fail to do any better and get sacked from the team, only if Nurmester wishes to of course. Secondly, pending a strong performance in 2016, Jones will look to promote Nurmester to the F2RWRS team for 2017, and as such would have first preference on whether they choose to do so, or end the contract in 2016. If you're happy with that, just say the word, and it's a done deal.
Aye, that sounds like a good contract. So Nurmester ended up at Jones after all the rumors that started in late 2015 (or February 2012 real time).

Are you perhaps an aspiring team owner, but have no-one to drive your cars? Or maybe you have drivers who are not performing in a way you'd expect in relation to their wages? Look no further, as former Formula One World Championship and F1 Rejects GP2 Championship driver Niko Nurminen is here to help! Our management office currently has a few drivers looking for race seats who have either been unjustifiably dumped by other teams or are still looking for their breakthrough into the world of Reject Motorsport. Currently the following drivers are available:
Nick Nurmester, 27: former JLD driver in F3RWRS, who was treated badly to make Daniel Melrose's brother Joel look better than what he truly is. Comes with sponsorship from Pioneer.
Stefan Kuntz, 27: German driver left out in the cold by the Scuderia Alitalia Giovanile Squdra despite promising results, including one win in the Rejects of LFS. Comes with sponsorship from Hella and Agfa.
Tommi Hämäläinen, 18: Promising Finn with wins from FRenault 2.0 Eurocup and a Formula Ford championship to boot. Comes with sponsorship from Amer Sports.
We will only take a very modest sum as the management fee.

I would give one of your guys a chance, but our engine is so rubbish it will probably wreck his career.

And of course, Nurmester is just about contracted to Jones Racing, and was only included in the advert to announce his sponsors.

In a shock announcement, Takagi Racing Enterprises has announced that it will replace the Suzuki-based TRE F315 with the new F315i (i standing for independent, i.e. zero Suzuki components). Hiroshi Takagi, manager of the team, has blamed the Suzuki-based F315 as the cause for the drivers from failing to score points. The car features a completely new aerodynamics and body. TRE's drivers Tetsuya Takagi and Hendra Naufal were spotted testing the new F315i in Motegi and says the new F315i "is sightly faster than old car [F315]". Let's hope their results will improve.

There are reports that TRE have bought the use of the Kamaha KMF31 chassis to replace the woeful Suzuki F315 chassis. As new Kamaha chassis has impressed many people by currently being 3rd in the constructors championship this would not be beyond the realms of truth. However another source have stated that the chassis is a new chassis, however we will wait for a responce from TRE enterprises.

2015 Round of the United States - Qualifying 1
While the F1RWRS teams were at Long Beach, the F3 teams were preparing for another weekend at Laguna Seca. And the weather wasn't kind, as it absolutely bucketed down for qualifying:
And Melrose makes it two poles in a row with a very good lap, while Souto Maior and Swerts have hit some form. Despite the weather, no one went off track, and no one was investigated for blocking. Two cars failed to set lap times, Leandro Moreira's gearbox breaking on his way down from the Corkscrew and Tetsuya Takagi's engine blowing up not far from the pit lane.

Re: F3RWRS - Yet another feeder series
Round of the United States - Race 1
That's the in-universe reason. The real reason is that in one race, the entire field pitted twice, on laps 10 and 12, for no apparent reason, but in the other race, no one did at all. To ensure a fair result, I took both results from the end of lap 9.
Anywho, I like the team-by-team review, so I'll stick with that for now.
Prospec
Not too much to say, Cameron spent the race stuck in the midfield doing nothing while Greenlaw took forever to pass Melrose, which allowed Jantscher to sneak away. Once he got ahead of the JLD, he didn't stay there for long as Souto Maior passed him.
Aeroracing
Once Souto Maior passed Greenlaw, he hunted down Jantscher and took the lead on lap 9, one of many passes at the Corkscrew. Perfect timing for the red flag. As for Batistuta, he was lucky to be 13th, after he drove into the back of Zimmer at the Corkscrew which sent him and Harmsky off the track. Penalty points are definitely heading his way.
Jones
Why Swerts is the one on the chopping block and not Dinella does not make any sense to me. The Belgian got unlucky in that he was stuck behind Melrose all race, and the one time he got past, he overcooked it slightly and let both Melrose and Melville through. He was 7th on lap 9, ahead of Melville but still behind Melrose. He did get lucky though, an altercation with Melville just before the red flag saw him drop way down the order. Dinella on the other hand was just plain crap, not even able to keep pace with the Hydooks.
West Cliff
See Prospec, except Davies wasn't quite able to match Greenlaw, and Port was much faster than Cameron.
Takagi
Takagi made decent progress from last place, finishing right behind Naufal, who was quite disappointing. The only incident of note was when Takagi got punted by Mondlane at the Corkscrew and ran wide, taking out Horford as well.
Octan
Not the greatest of races for either driver, Lamberigts had an embarassing spin on the main straight, simply losing it at the kink. Bainomugisha at least had a clean race.
Porto Wine
Mondlane was in the thick of it today. Lap 2, gets hit by Horford at the hairpin and punts Moreira off as a result. Lap 5, returns serve by tapping Takagi at the Corkscrew, which results in Horford off the track. In all this, Cabral got involved with Horford as well, cutting across her under brakes for the Corkscrew and sending both spinning.
Kingfisher
Van der Maeyede was very unlucky, or very stupid. On lap 3, he tried to cover Harmsky at the Corkscrew. Problem was, Harmsky was way too far back to even have a look down the inside. Van der Maeyede put a wheel on the gravel and spun off, managing to continue way down. He was later one of the cars that caused the red flag, a water leak putting him out at turn 3. Brooks was at least quiet, if not fast.
ZombieKart
Walsh was the other car that brought out the red flag, with a transmission forcing him to park at turn 10. This was about half a lap after he had a lazy spin at turn 5, after hitting a puddle. Richard Hershall managed a top 20 result, not bad in his first real race.
Parma Corse
Crescenzi would easily win ROTR here. Lap 5, having aleady been passed by Lucarelli, Crescenzi is doing everything possible to keep the JLD of Brown behind him. As they come to the Corkscrew, Crescenzi goes too far trying to defend the inside line, and puts two wheel into the gravel. Crescenzi spins and crosses the track. This alone would be fine if he hadn't hit another car. That happened to be his teammate. The sad part was the collision with Lucarelli sent Alessandro into the fence and thus the back of the field, while Lorenzo's car was righted as a result and he only lost one spot. It's a good thing Alasdair is in Long Beach...
ZimSport
From 1-2 at Monaco to half a point at Laguna Seca. Melville couldn't find a way past Swerts or Melrose, while Zimmer got screwed over by the collision with Batistuta and couldn't repass him. Melville will face some strife after a collision with Swerts on lap 10, where he tried to go up the inside at turn 6 but left no room at the exit.
Fusion
They will win a race this year. If the flag had come out one lap earlier, Jantscher would have won, but alas, it was not to be. Moreira could also have pulled out a top 20 easy, as he had the pace, but he got punted off at the hairpin on lap 2 and couldn't recover.
Gulf JCW
Both had clean races and stayed well away from trouble. The only noteworthy incident was Davidson getting mugged by Desai on the main straight, crossing the line a mere tenth behind. On what would turn out to be the last lap.
Best in the World
Horford's antics with the Porto Wine cars ensured that she was the last finisher, while McAllister continued his good form with another solid top 10 finish, staying well away from any trouble.
Good Call
A very good race from both drivers, with Piscine coming home just outside the points and Yorke almost taking a top 10.
Linton-Solindahl
Reatherson scored yet more points, but Travesen lost his chance early when he aquaplaned at turn 5 and spun trying to avoid other cars. Fortunately, he succeeded, and no one else was involved. He just failed to make any forward progress afterwards.
Dofasco
The usual, but with less crashing. Both were painfully slow, and lucky not to be last and second last.
Red Bull
A quiet race, with Taki in the top 15 and Hamilton just outside the top 20. A good race overall
Hydook
Not particularly impressive, or even noticeable. Finished up line astern, just inside the top 30.
JLD
Well... at least Melrose scored pole. He lost positions rapidly to most of the cars behind him, and it was only desperate defending that kept Swerts and Melville behind. Bown, meanwhile, made very good progress, finishing 17th.
Kamaha
A poor qualifying from Desai saw her have a clean race, but she made minimal progress, and despite a good pass on Davidson, couldn't crack the top 20. Sampson, on the other hand, was still fairly slow.
Shonan
Harmsky had a good race, and would have certainly been 13th, maybe even 12th had he not been caught up in Batistuta's mess. Sokolov also had a good day despite a poor qualifying, making it uo to 25th.
Results:
The stewards have taken the decision to red flag race 1 of the Round of the United States on lap 10 of the scheduled 14 laps. After the simultaneous retirements of Cars #18 and #14, and the increasingly dangerous wet conditions, in order to ensure the safety of marshalls recovering the cars, a red flag was deemed necessary. It was decided that as too much time was lost, the race was ended, and results were taken from the end of lap 9. Half points were awarded as the race had not reached 75% distance.
That's the in-universe reason. The real reason is that in one race, the entire field pitted twice, on laps 10 and 12, for no apparent reason, but in the other race, no one did at all. To ensure a fair result, I took both results from the end of lap 9.

I can't take this anymore. Lorenzo Crescenzi is sacked with immediate effect and will be replaced by Olafur Ragnar Hannesson.

RoLFS Commission would like to inquire whether or not this has an effect on ZimSport's driver choices for the Westhill round.

Well, considering there's absolutely no clashes on the calender, I don't see any problem that won't allow him to compete in both categories

Indeed there isn't, and I won't see a problem if he, for example, competes in the Westhill RoLFS round and then in the F3RWRS Round of the United Kingdom, considering that both rounds are in the same country. However, a cross-Atlantic jump from the US to the UK might cause some jet lag...
Besides, considering how many people want to be involved in the RWRS world, it would be fair towards others not to have the same driver competing in more than one category at a time.

A poor qualifying from Desai saw her have a clean race, but she made minimal progress, and despite a good pass on Davidson, couldn't crack the top 20. Sampson, on the other hand, was still fairly slow.

Can I register a mid season entry, or do I have to wait until the close season?

For a full time entry, you'd have to wait for next year, but you can enter for the tw remaining SuperPrix races this season.

Right then, Restov Racing will enter a Dallara for Edward Restov Jr. (GBR) #46 for the Superprix, in preparation for a full campaign in 2013

Apart from the number, this is accepted. You can't use #46 because it's already taken and one-off entries must use a number between 100 and 199. Although I don't think #146 was taken.

And might I suggest using a Lancia engine? Two wins and two second places this season, currently used by the reigning F3RWRS champions!

Earlier this week we confirmed that the team's drivers for 2016 will be Dinella and Nurmester, everyone at the team, Eric included, feel that the maximum both parties could get out of each other was two seasons. Wherever he finds himself next year, we all wish him well. For the remainder of 2015 however we will continue to push for good results, clearly the BMW engines are down on power but that doesn't mean we can't achieve podiums and race wins.

I would otherwise suggest to you our great Geely Engines. 100 % copied from the Lancia-engines, and 100% legal according to the chinese law. An extensive investigation showed that the Geely-logo does not resemble the Lancia-logo. And they are cheap.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

And I'd like to remind Mr Jones that the BMW engines are running quite fine, especially considering West Cliff's James Davies is currently leading the championship with essentially the same engine and that the engine has scored three pole positions in the hands of Davies and Melrose. Which is starting to lead me to believe that the Jones Chassis we're using isn't all that it's cracked up to be in race trim...
