Consider it coincidence then. And I don't see 49 at all in the picture.

You can see the word "Seven". Twice. And what is seven to the power of two? Exactly.

Apparently Colin Kolles was trying to buy the team before it went bust. Maybe he still could - he could definitely run an F1 team.

C'mon Kolles Grand Prix!

I think the combination of Karthikeyan and Qing-Hua would actually be realistic. But this is Kolles we're talking about, he could just as well go for Albers-Liuzzi

What about Karthikeyan in the first car and and Ma Qing-Hua in the second one? With one of them being replaced mid-season by Yamamoto, as Kolles alway does?

Kolles did try to sign Jose Maria Lopez when his contract got terminated @ USF1 - he is still wanting to get into F1 again..

Yup, Valsecchi and Razia are both well-funded. Or, if he doesn't get a seat at Caterham, Giedo van der Garde is well-funded.

It'd also require some substantial rule bending by the FIA itself to permit the team to take part in the 2013 season, seeing that the payment deadline expired more than a month ago. If it was one of the larger teams, I could see either them or Bernie being able to exert some leverage on the FIA to permit them to participate - but even if Kolles did return, it is hard to see what leverage he has.
Moreover, there is the issue that HRT might now be in a position where FOM could refuse to pay them for the revenue they earned in 2012 (having failed to submit their original entry in time, they'd be in breach of contract and therefore be treated as a new entrant rather than an existing team), whilst the current moves to cut the Tier 3 payments for teams means that, even if the team survived until the end of 2013, it would only receive any money from FOM if it finished in 10th in the WCC.

Well, even if Kolles buys HRT: He needs time to get the whole operation back to work again. Then, construction works on the F113 tube are on ice since now almost a month at Carbotech.
So, that means the scheduled outing of the F113 at the first test would be postponed by 4 weeks, and with some work overtime maybe still be two weeks?

And then, what's the point anyway? They would be at the same position like last year: Still no base (I consider the Caja Magica just an updated Kolles-barnshed, they have a workshop but no construction/building office, and no design office), no stability and a car manufactured to the minimum needed to compete at the back again and yet another season they will need to close the gap.
And I honestly think that next season Marussia will be in a far better position so the gap is gonna be huge for HRT (just look how Marussia closed the gap after introducing windtunnel tested parts; imaging to whole car is designed using a windtunnel).
And yes, HRT said that the F113 will be a big step forward to compete with Marussia and Catherham. But, they said the same last year about the F112. And we know what happend.

They were able to reduce their distance to the front and able to fight with Marussia occasionally before Thesan Capital's unwilligness to support the team caused the obvious consequences?

The only way HRT ever figured to reduce the distance to the front was to ignore the lines on the starting grid.

All this year achievements was to consolidate and that backfired, LPS and Pedro etc knew that due how late Thesan took over then all they could do was reduce the 7s gap the F111 had to roughly 4.5-5s and before the limited money stopped in September to get close to Marussia.

HRT had just brought in a design team, ex Toyota and BMW Designers from Germany and people from Marussia and McLaren GT and they had been in Madrid for about 2 weeks before Thesan announced they would sell!

2013 was always going to be better, Thesan had orginally planned to increase their budget to enable the team to fight the 2 above very close, but decided to withdraw and in my opinion they did it 6 months too late, they should have been planning to sell in the summer break to enable the team to continue under HRT name.

If Kolles does buy the "team" and i use the word team very lightly he needs to chase a partnership with a big team as Marussia have benefited a lot from it, plus didnt Kolles say he would be in F1 again as he thought HRT wouldnt continue with out him?

Hi everybody! I'm an italian 22 years old guy that loves F1. :D
I've read that maybe also Zoran Stefanovic could be interessed to HRT F1 team.
News about Chery Automobile? I've searched a lot, but seems that they aren't interested now. Can anyone confirm these two things?
I hope that HRT will be saved by someone, lose a F1 team make me sad as F1 lover :(

Welcome to the forum! :)

And oh boy, if Zoran Stefanovich of all people ends up buying HRT, it really would be the completion of the circle, considering the rumours that Stefan GP tried to dick over Campos by trying to buy the 2010 Dallara chassis back in the day...

exactly! He tried to make a collage of USF1, Campos and his Stefan GP at one stage!
I think that the possibility to save the HRT F1 Team are not so much..but the positive side of the question is that HRT have not confirm yet his death, even if Perez Sala have told that he'll say something when the things will be adjusted and the telephone of Caja Magica are off

Personally i think that what will really happen is less spectacular: Thesan will sell the F112 or the F113 to Pirelli, who need a recent test car.

HRT's development is up shite creek without a paddle. Essentially, buying them out would be like resuscitating a month-old corpse.

Didn't Formtech also acquire some assets from Super Aguri? If Wurz, Formtech, SOOPA AGURI!, HRT, Stefanovic, Campos, Kolles and Kamui Kobayashi could all unite to form one team, it would be the greatest reject team of all time.

Super Aguri ran a four year old Arrows in 2006, and because of the little rule changes, it would be possible to run an F112B for the first oversea races, and wait for the F113 to be completed.

Formtech accuse HRT of misleading them.

Article claims that Thesan - who apparently were controlled by a "Luxembourgian Fund" - started liquidating HRT's assets in mid-November.

Also,
Expressing their intention to "investigate further into the true shareholder ship of HRT and Thesan Capital SL", Formtech added: "It has come to our knowledge that [HRT] owe a substantial amount of money to other suppliers in the motorsports industry."

When contacted by Sky Sports on Monday, a spokesperson for Thesan Capital could only confirm that the company is currently holding meetings with various suppliers.

Well, it seems HRT declared bankruptcy on the 12th of november. Thesan tried to sell a company standing in liquidation. :o
Suppliers were told by Thesan, that they are going to get their money. Thesan kept quiet about the fact that HRT is bankrupt and won't pay a dime.
So, according to HRT staff (including Cuquerella) it is now time to say bye-bye to HRT!
