Round of the United Kingdom - Qualifying 2
44 cars. 15 minutes. 1 lap. 2 kilometres. If you think that could possibly end well, something is seriously wrong with you![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Well, apart from a few cases of blocking (I assume, since I was struggling to keep up with who was on flyers let alone who was blocking who), and Mondlane going off at Graham Hill, it was a fairly clean session. Melville salvaged something from the weekend for John Zimmer, while Greenlaw was again outqualified by Cameron. Performance of the session was easily Peter Port, with a second row start.

Suffice it to say that in race 1, Peter to demonstrate that it is possible to make progress through the field from the back.

Again, a good job from Marko.
Not a great qualifying from Moreira; after contact with Mr. Nurminen we will be putting Stefan Kuntz in the car in place of Leandro for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we can have two cars up the top end of the grid.

Or it could be the case that Jantscher is outdriving the car, as was the case at Kingfisher with van der Maeyede

Well, I guess I'll find out...
I definitely think Jantscher is a talent, and I definitely think he deserves a top F2 drive next season...

Nah, he's got 7 years as the upper age limit is 35. The point still stands though as he's not going anywhere in a hurry.

Re: F3RWRS - Yet another feeder series
Round of the United Kingdom - Race 2
Prospec
Someone didn't get the message that pitting was a bad idea. Nathanael Cameron should have easily taken the double this weekend as he got a brilliant start and capitalised on mistakes up front, until he stopped on lap 13. In the end, he managed 4th, while Greenlaw spent the race going backwards, eventually retiring two laps from home with a transmission failure.
Aeroracing
Souto Maior was quick, it was just that too many cars were quicker. For the team as a whole it was a quiet race, apart from when Batistuta parked on the back straight with a puncture, not far from the end, costing him a top 12 result.
Jones
You cannot come closer to a victory! A mere 3 tenths of a second separated Swerts from Jantscher at the end, which was directly caused by Branko Ristic being a moron at the final corner, blocking Swerts and preventing him having a good run out of Clark Curve. He could also trace it back to lap 3, where he had a collision with Daniel Melville at Druids that cost both of them a few spots. Roberto Dinella went backwards a bit, but that was because of an altercation with Stephanie Brown late in the race that saw him spear off at Graham Hill but fortunately rejoin safely, having skilfully controlled his slide through the grass.
West Cliff
Remember what happened yesterday? Reverse it. It was Port that spun away from a good result, although he at least finished, while Davies had the spirited fightback to 9th. No luck from West Cliff today.
Takagi
Naufal qualified very well by the teams usual standards. He only finished 30th after a lap 4 spin at Paddock Hill that saw him put Pitea into retirement. Takagi retired in chaos on lap 9 at Graham Hill Bend. Dale Hamilton had spun, and rejoined the track. Takagi lost control when the gearbox seized, and had nowhere to go but to hit Hamilton and put both out of the race.
Octan
The Geelys were surprsingly quick this weekend and Lamberigts proved it by scoring a few points. Bainomugisha was slow by comparison, including a spin at Graham Hill on the final lap.
Porto Wine
Soares finished 5 laps down. This was because of a big spin at Graham Hill that took him ages to recover from because of the traffic. Mondlane made the top 20 after a poor qualifying, and on the lead lap as an added bonus.
Kingfisher
Scott Davidson did a solid job, right up until the moment his engine blew up. Brooks lost a few spots thanks to a lazy spin at Clark Curve. Not a brilliant day for the team.
ZombieKart
After qualifying it was expected that Hershall would do a good job, but in reality it took 3 laps for that to be proven wrong. But Walsh did a very good job to hold off Davies for 8th, scoring another point for ZombieKart.
Parma Corse
It took Soares 4 laps to get out of the runoff at Graham Hill. It took Hannesson 10 laps. Points were possible, probably not a podium, but that's what happens at a very short track. As for Lucarelli, he got punted off by Melrose on lap 5, and never really recovered.
ZimSport
At least Melville got a podium. Zimmer was one of the pitters, but only because of an electrical problem early on. Melville was involved in another collision with Swerts, that cost Swerts the win and Melville second.
Fusion
I was right, Fusion would win a race! Jantscher wasn't really the quickest car, but he dealt with traffic well, and managed to hold off Swerts until the end of the race. Just. Moreira, meanwhile, picked up more penalty points when he punted off Buckley at Druids, but at least was on the lead lap.
Gulf JCW
Buckley never recovered from being punted off, finishing 2 laps down. Davidson was also lapped after going off at Graham Hill near the end of the race.
Best In The World
The other team who didn't learn from yesterday. Verbeeck was on track for points again, until he followed Cameron into the pits. Unlike Cameron, he didn't fight back, spinning off at Graham Hill and losing 5 laps. McAllister wasn't as strong as yesterday, only managing 10th.
Good Call
Neither Yorke nor Piscine were particularly quick today, but they matched each other well, to the point where they were separated by just a tenth of a second at the end of the race.
Linton-Solindahl
Qualifying troubles have at least been translating into race pace, with Reatherson in the points with a quiet race, but Travesen got stuck in traffic and couldn't make much forward progress.
Dofasco
The plus side to Naufal's spin was that it meant only one Dofasco would troll around the back of the field, with Pitea the first DNF of the race. Maylander managed to stay out of everyone's way until a 31st placed finish, 2 laps down.
Red Bull
A double DNF, and neither because of reliability problems. Hamilton's spin at Graham Hill that took out Takagi also took out a marshall that was waving yellows for Soares' stationary car. A lap later, Taki spun off at exactly the same place, but rather than wait for a gap in the traffic, he just decided to give up and left his car.
Hydook
Apart from Ristic being a muppet at the end of the race plus his spin at Graham Hill costing him a few laps, both cars were anonymous all race.
JLD
Melrose's muppetry ruined Lucarelli's race and Brown's ruined Dinella's. Not a good day out for the team, especially after qualifying. At least they were on the lead lap...
Kamaha
Horford picked up a penalty for causing a deliberate collision, despite being nowhere near the track when it happened. She spun off late at Graham Hill, joining her replacement in the grass. She recovered quickly, and then decided the fastest way to the track was through Verbeeck's car, which spin the BITWM around and undid his work in getting free. As for Desai, she only made it up to 15th, at least without hitting anyone.
Shonan
Harmsky wasn't as quick today, dropping out of the top 10, while Sokolov fought up to 19th in another strong race. They should hopefully score some points this year, if things go their way.

Mr Verbeeck was at fault too as he clearly took up far too much of the road so poor Anita had to come back on the road. So we are requesting that the incident be relooked at.

I'm still not too far behind in the championship though, so we'll do better next time!

Jake Legge wrote:An absolutely top race for Marko. He's had a great weekend here, and as such he's one point off the top of the drivers' championship. Swerts kept him honest all race, and he dealt with the pressure admirably. If we can keep the momentum going, then he could have a real chance. It's probably right for both parties that Leandro is leaving the team; he just hasn't impressed in the way that he should have. I've had encouraging talks with Stefan Kuntz, and hopefully he'll be more of a match for Marko due to his experience within the leagues. Many team bosses write him off, but I'm sure he'll do a good job for us.
We're now assessing options for 2016, as I'm trying to negotiate a move for Marko to F2RWRS. We're not just seeing Stefan as a stopgap but as a potential driver for next season as we also look at drivers in F1RDS. There is definitely a seat open for other team managers to bring their drivers in to our team, as we also consider Jari Lappalainen. He's got a bit of improving to do though if he wants to move up.

And as for Brown costing Roberto a good race, I'm gutted because he was looking great all race and he's starting to find his feet and gain confidence in the car. I'm sure his first points aren't very far away. Still, our performance on the whole this weekend has be excellent, and exactly what I've been expecting all year. We need to maintain this form for the rest of the season and try and recover some places in both championships, because our poor early form has given everyone else a huge head start.

No problem, though Jones reserve the right to request Nurmester drive for Jones Racing at any point should the need arise.

Of course, of course. Jones Racing remains as Nurmester's main priority and he'll only race for other teams to gather experience when Jones Racing has no immediate need of his services.

I believe that is quite possibly a deal, then.

Re: F3RWRS - Yet another feeder series
With one round to go before the Spa SuperPrix, I am now opening the entry list. If every team who ran third cars (and NRE) at Monaco does so again, as well as Restov and Tassie, then there will only be one spot left. Priority will got to teams who ran extra cars at Monaco, but they do no need to run them at Spa. Remember the rules, drivers with up to 15 F2RWRS race are allowed, and there will be no date clashes as all series apart from the RoLFS will be at Spa that weekend.

JLD will again run a third car for James Douglas at Spa, running the same number and livery that was used at Monaco.

Well, as Octan confirmed Vergne for the Spa Superprix, he can get in a race earlier, and in fact, he can drive the following races too if he wants, Dorien Lamberigts will focus on her studies instead. Driving cars hasnt worked out for Wouter's little sister. Perhaps she might return to RoLFS, where there's less pressure on her.
The third car for the Spa Superprix is now open.
