I'd be more worried that your boy has the most powerful engine in the field at the ultimate power circuit and yet still could only muster up 17th on the grid

Nah, remember the engine equalisation under damp conditions... not worried at all More worried of a possible start crash than anything else.

BATHPLUG! 27th and 28th again... the only time that the team gets out of Pre-Qualifying both cars end up in the DNQ positions.

Renault to not power ArrowTech in 2016
News is coming out of the French engine manufacturer that ArrowTech-Acuri Autosport will not renew their contract to use their engines for the 2016 season. This comes due to the fact that the team was only 7th so far in the championship, when the team was aiming for 5th or higher in the constructors'. No further details were given as to why the team will use different engines in 2016.
The Fox "disappointed" in Monza race
The Fox managed to somehow convince everyone at Revolution DMS to extend Shinobu Katayama's loan to a fourth race at Monza, but it turned into an unmitigated disaster for the team. Katayama qualified 25th and was nowhere in sight until her engine expired very early in the race. "Obviously, we expected much more out of this race, but we can't put fault on (Shinobu) since the engine cooked up very quickly." The Fox did remind Shinobu, though, that her offer still stood for 2016.

Sammy Jones wrote:This is incredible, by far the best weekend since I started Jones Racing back in late 2010. I'm so happy for Rosco that he could win at his home race in what has been a truly fantastic year for the kid. He's blown everyone away, myself included, with his ability and talent. He definitely has a bright future ahead of him that much is clear. And for me, in my 80th entry and 70th race start, to make the podium alongside Rosco, sharing the top two steps, is like a dream. We knew we didn't have the overall pace to match MRT or DGN, that's been obvious since the start of 2014, but we've targeted our reliability right from back then, and over time we've developed what has to be one of the best all-round packages on the grid. It leaves us in a supreme position in both championships, but whether we can get ahead of MRT and Dagnall and then stay there remains to be seen. There's only 4 races to go so we're in with a shout but there's still plenty of points available, and any one of ourselves, MRT, DGN or Aeroracing could conceivably come away with the glory. But for me, this marks the end of what has been an incredible adventure over many years on the race track. I've had such a fantastic time and I've been privileged to drive for so many brilliant teams both in F1 and F1RWRS. And now to have established my own, and see it do so well, it's just amazing, and quite emotional. Now I shall move to the pit wall full-time and concentrate on moulding Castrol Jones Racing into the best team it can be for many years to come.
Autosport wrote:Davies jumps ship as Jones signs off after dream weekend
Following a sensational performance at Monza, where Sammy Jones followed teammate Rosco Vantini home to seal his team's first ever 1-2, the Castrol Jones Racing team owner has announced his retirement from racing with immediate effect. In his place will come Rhys Davies, the MRT driver who has been hampered by poor reliability this year. Davies had already signed a two year deal to join Jones in 2016, but moves across four races early in a bid to rescue his title ambitions.
Born in Banbury in 1978 to former F1 driver Harvey Jones and his wife Sarah, Sammy was always destined to follow the path that his father had trodden, and by the mid 1980s began to progress through the karting ranks. Two years in Formula Ford in 1994 and 95 was followed by a dominant year in Formula Vauxhall in 1996 where Sammy came away with the title. An immediate promotion to British F3 came next, and whilst only 14th overall in 1997, at his second attempt he emerged runner-up to Mario Haberfeld in the championship. Catching the eye of the Arrows F1 Team, Sammy was handed a test alongside fellow hopefuls Pedro De La Rosa and Tora Takagi. Some impressive times earnt Jones the drive alongside De La Rosa for 1999.
After a trying debut season, with two fourth places and having outclassed De La Rosa, the new Jaguar team hired Sammy to partner Eddie Irvine in an all-British line-up. The following two seasons brought some impressive results, Jones scored a handful of podiums and began to establish himself within the paddock. A stint at Jordan replacing the ousted Frentzen mid-way through 2001 brought more of the same, but Jones moved to BAR in 2004 as Jordan began to decline in form. A successful 2004 and further podiums confirmed Jones as a solid midfield driver but that maiden victory eluded him, just as it had done for his father, for quite some time.
All that changed in 2007 however when Sammy was handed a chance at McLaren, and for the first time in his F1 career he had at his disposal a front-running car. A string of podiums and finishing every race in the points ensured Jones came away runner-up in the championship in 2007, and along with it he won his first race at the Chinese GP. From there, the floodgates opened, with 5 more wins in 2008, but only 4th overall with poor races in Monaco and Japan and retirements in Turkey and France costing him dearly. The under-performing 2009 McLaren then made sure that Sammy didn't see the podium at all that year, and having become disillusioned with the team, he left to join Renault whilst also signing for West Cliff Racing in the newly-formed F1RWRS.
Dovetailing the two championships proved tough on Sammy, though he took his final win in F1 at the same place where his first had been, in China, and other podiums in both series confirmed he still had the talent, despite his advancing years. For 2011 he left F1 entirely to focus on the F1RWRS, and established his own team, Jones Racing in which he drove for five consecutive years. Whilst his initial results were disappointing as he struggled to balance both the driving duties and managerial aspects of being a team owner, gradually he steered Jones Racing into becoming a household name in the series, as it's popularity sky-rocketed, replacing Formula 1 as the world's premier motorsport series. Jones won races every year from 2012 to 14, whilst his teammates, illustrious drivers such as Chris Dagnall, Kay Lon, Daniel Melrose and now sensational rookie Rosco Vantini, all enjoyed great success.
Nevertheless, Jones made a name for himself as a controversial and outspoken member of the paddock, in both his F1 and F1RWRS days. Jones Racing was never far away from the headlines, with incidents such as the 2012 British GP fracas which saw his nose broken by Phoenix McAllister and Jones banned from the following two races, the departure and then return to the series in the wake of the new rules brought in for 2013, and then the scandal surrounding Kay Lon at the 2013 Chinese GP, resulting in the German's dismissal from the team.
This at times adversarial approach within the paddock brought Jones some enemies, and to this day he remains at odds with both Phoenix McAllister and Barii Mori, in a feud dating back almost four years. Similarly Jones recently announced he'd never speak to Scuderia Alitalia boss Alisdair Lindsay again after the two continued to come to blows over their differing opinions on a number of matters.
In all, Sammy Jones has had a profound effect on the motorsport world both as a driver and team owner, and now following his retirement from the cockpit at the age of 36, he can put his full focus into leading his team forward for many years to come in the F1RWRS. Sammy Jones, we salute you!

Several tracks launch bids to host F1RWRS in 2016
Several track owners and race promoters have launched bids to try host F1RWRS in 2016. According to the reports, interest in F1RWRS has outgrown that of F1 because the costs involved are significantly inferior, while keeping a very high return in revenue. Also, F1RWRS requirements are way less tight than those of F1 as far as track features go, so promoters around are willing to invest in bringing the sport to their tracks. So far we've heard rumours about a number of tracks to be willing to feature a race:
-- Phoenix could be bidding to host a race in the very same track that was used for the 1991 Formula 1 Grand Prix
-- Road Atlanta is interested in hosting a race in the east of the US
-- Road America has been proposed as another venue for that "US East" race
-- Brno could snap its place from the Mediterranean GP
-- Another brazilian track could be interested in hosting the Brazilian race, but it could be scrapped altogether, even if the commission having stated its interest in having a race in South America
-- Sweden is believed to be interested in having a nordic round of the championship, but Anderstorp has denied is hosting a race
-- Indonesia would be interested in using Sentul if an Indonesian driver makes it to the series, although Singapore could be used as an alternative

MRT would like to make a formal offer to Ron Mignolet to drive the second car for the last four races. Failing that, we'll go with any pay driver that has a Reject Superlicense, it actually good, and is not Benoit Voeckler

As far as I'm concerned Mignolet will go to Arrowtech; what I'm effectively doing is just swap Shioya test driver spot and keep Mignolet as a test driver and sending Mignolet on loan to Arrowtech. Jeremy expressed his interest in Mignolet ages ago anyway.
As for good superlicensed pay drivers, I'm afraid there's nothing to chose from; you could try your luck with an experienced driver like Dean O'Lauchlan however. Anyway, why'd you want to run a Pay driver when you're probably going to hit the credit cap?

Now, would This prefer his driver to be in a team that's just been kicked back down to Pre-Qualifying who're obviously hiring him for the money, or the WCC leaders who are obviously hiring him for the money?
Seriously though, we'd like to request that we loan David Neuberg from Kingfisher again, as he's done more than 50% of the races for that team, which means they get his prizemoney regardless on what happens in the last four races and they're actually better off if he gets some monster results for MRT. In exchange, we'll give you the choice of either El Presidente or Jason Hamilton if he's willing to drive for them. Failing that, it'll be a straight coin-toss between El Presidente and Hamilton for the second seat for the final four races.

Saeed Al Faisal who has scored 5 points in his career would love to go out on a high and drive for MRT. He has a bag of cash too
Nicolas Steele would probably be the best unattached driver in the paddock at the moment too. I am sure he would love to give two fingers to Kamaha too.

I know that by doing this I've given up hope on the title, as I would expect Sammy to ask me to help Rosco take down Dagnall and I'd be all too happy to help him. But for next season, if the boys design anything half decent and reliable, I reckon we'll both be up there.
Autosport wrote:HRT to apply for exceptional circumstances in Brazil
John Zimmer today confirmed that his team, the Holden Racing Team, will apply to the F1RWRS Commission to run a fifth driver this season to replace Frank Zimmer at the Brazilian Grand Prix in October. Zimmer has not been allowed to enter Brazil since 2008, and has had to be replaced every season since 2013 when the F1RWRS first visited the country. "I have approached the Commission regarding the issue of Frank's status with Brazilian authorities, and what we can do to replace him for the race," John Zimmer said today. The team has already reached their 4-driver limit for the year, after John replaced Daniel Melrose halfway through the year, who in turn was a replacement for Poppy Whitechapel. It is understood that if the team is allowed to run a fifth driver, Young Lions driver Carter Simpson, cousin of Jones Racing driver Rhys Davies, would be given the oppurtunity to race, and the Young Lions team would field a replacement driver at the corresponding F2RWRS race at Road America.
"We don't have many options if the Commission say no," Zimmer also said. "We're running short on money and simply can't afford to pay the fine if we don't get the exception, so we may face the probability of not even turning up for the race." When asked whether he would approach Melrose or Whitechapel to drive again, Zimmer said "only if we're desperate."

Commission rejects HRT application for a 5th driver
The F1RWRS Commission has rejected HRT's application to run a 5th driver in Brazil. The Australian team asked for an exception to be made due to Frank Zimmer's impossibility to enter the south american country. "We have rejected the application on the base that neither Daniel Melrose or Poppy Whitechapel have been contacted to drive for HRT in Brazil. However, we could change the outcome of the resolution if both of them refuse to drive for HRT again. We also understand that HRT knew about this situation way before starting the championship and therefore it's their own fault forgetting that Frank Zimmer had to be replaced in Brazil. However, we'd be keen in talking to the FIA to see if they can do something so the Brazilian authorities grant an exceptional visa for Zimmer for the race only. Otherwise, I'm afraid HRT would have to pay a fine, after all, it's been 7 years since the incident and we're sure Frank will have learnt not to do anything like that ever again"

It's Klon that keeps banging on about Kartodromo Orobico not me!!!! Although how about serious consideration to Mugello?
Also, Scuderia Alitalia absolutely refuses to attend a race at Anderstorp should one be scheduled. We have absolutely no interest in travelling to that complete pile of excrement race track ever again since the F1RMGP debacle this season. It should be nowhere near the F1RWRS calendar, unless you want a Jacarepaguá type race again.

Had there be a Lippo Village street circuit for GP2, I would support a race there.
And Mecha will support Alitalia regarding Anderstorp.

Dammit. I was really hoping that Martin McFry was on for a good result after that qualifying performance. I bet Murray Walker had only seen that once before...

As far as I've tested, Mugello produces boring races if you compare to Monza. It'd be in Imola levels of fun.

I disagree. From 2013:

Team Calinetic have announced that John Zimmer has been signed to replace the outbound Nicolas Steele. Team owner Joseph Calinetic said that "John has offered to pay for the privelige of driving for the team, and considering his pedigree, we jumped at the chance." Zimmer, the elder brother of Frank who drives for Horizon, competed in one season of F1RWRS, in 2011, winning the Eastern Creek race that year for HRT. John was unavailable for comment, as was his new teammate David Koczo.
Mr Zimmer is a pay driver, so I expect some credits
And no, that wasn't the reason I put him in the car. I forgot about it, actually. I only went back and looked for it when Aerond told me I hadn't spent any credits on him, which I thought was weird of me to do.
