Rejects of LFS 2014-2015
Re: Rejects of LFS: 2015 Aston Final now up
After numerous tests, I can now confirm that there is a possibility for live video broadcasts late in the season. If nothing else, at least the Aston 24 Hours will be run with that. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

J.O.U.R.N.A.L Editorial wrote:Aston 24 Hours vs F1RMGP Bathurst Enduro - what's your pick?
In 2014, the first ever F1RMGP 24 Hours of Bathurst Endurance Race was held. It was very succesful, with on-track drama everywhere and with high attendance, on the circuit and on the television. The grid of that race consisted of V8 Supercars' duopolies - Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore, as well as Nurburging 24 Hours-spec Nissan GT-R, and a pair of lone DeLorean and a modified Trabant. The Belgian team of Ecurie Nationale Belge, running a Holden Commodore, won the race dramatically over the Nissan GT-R-powered Leyton House-Dome teamup. This year, the F1RMGP 24 Hours of Bathurst Endurance Race will be held again, with some changes to the rules.
And we saw a new name in reject endurance racing - Rejects of LFS' Aston 24 Hours will be held for the first time this year. Not much is currently known about this endurance race, except that some of RoLFS drivers are reported to take part in the endurance race. We are currently not sure if it both races will run against each other - i.e. being rivals - but we know some of you expect so.
So, what will be the best reject endurance race this year - F1RMGP'S 24 Hours Bathurst Endurance Race or Rejects of LFS' Aston 24 Hours? Vote your opinion, now. It counts (we hope). See you at both enduros!
A previous version of this article erroneously said that ENB ran a Ford Falcon - this has been fixed.

Voiced commentary is still a big no-no, but UStream has a chat window besides the stream where I can drop in every now and then to comment on something, although that forces me to pause and leave the game window.
I guess more info is wanted for the Aston 24 Hours, so here goes:
- The event will last 24 hours, real-time, which obviously means that I'm not going to be present all the time.
- The event will be broadcast live on UStream. Because of the reason I mentioned above, the camera might occasionally be locked on a single car for quite long.
- The cars used will be those from the RWD GTR class. To give the field some variety, each model is limited to supply a maximum of seven teams.
- There'll be 20 teams where you can nominate three drivers each, so a total of 60 drivers will take part. In other words, each AI driver is named after a certain team and the drivers actually do not exist anywhere else but on these forums and the wiki. The game does not support driver changes in the middle of a race so we'll just have to use a bit of imagination (like the drivers are changed during certain pitstops).
- All fictional drivers aged between 20 and 50 are eligible. Currently retired drivers are also accepted, provided they fill the age requirement. As there has been probably hundreds of drivers in our virtual series over the last couple of years, I'm not accepting drivers that haven't raced before (i.e. you can't create them just for the purpose of this event). I'm sure you can still find enough drivers with relative ease.
- The race is scheduled on 16th-18th October in our calendar, so drivers taking part in the surrounding RWRS events (Japan on 8th-11th and Brazil/USA/Surfers on 23rd-25th) are advised not to take part, especially those who are also going to enter another endurance event (Indy 800).
- The event has no special rewards or prizes. The winner merely gets glory for winning only the second ever 24 hour event in Reject Motorsport history. Because of this, there's also no risk of injuries or penalties.

Fixed. It was on the wiki as clear as a Perspex bell.

When do you want us to confirm drivers Nuppiz? I'll make mine easy and say Jones' drivers will be O'Heagan, Massinion and Brinson.

There's no rush with it - it'll still take some time to run the remaining races in Japan, after which I'll have to concentrate on creating new wiki pages for both of my series (as their respective seasons happen to end almost simultaneously). Besides, RoLFS teams can always opt out from this event, opening new slots to other entrants. There's currently 18 teams in the main series, so with 20 slots that means there'll be at least two non-RoLFS entrants.
Oh, remember to pick the number for your car (can be anything from 0 to 99), and if you want you can already pick the car model you're using as well, although I will post my personal suggestions on each one a bit later.

It's not the accent - I think my spoken English is rather good, even though I rarely get to use it. But I don't have a microphone, and even if I did I'd be too shy to commentate with any sort of emotion (living with my parents, you know), instead I'd just about whisper the bare necessities into the mic.

Well, using these cars is what is left from my old idea of GTRWRS (before Stramala came up with his), which I canned simply because I didn't have enough time. But maybe next year we could use thosse UF1000 GTRs, just for the laughs

In that case you'd better look at other users, or even their retired drivers if they can't spare otherwise. This event has no risks at all and doesn't count against the five-driver limit (as does none of the RoLFS races), so you should find three drivers rather easily. Besides, both of your RBWRT drivers (Hallenstein and Paasonen) are available.

Well [spoiler alert], myself and Aerond were able to formulate a solution with uStream that allows third party commentary over the stream. I could commentate on the key moments of the race

Now, let's not forget the more pressing issues amidst all this. I still need Aeroracing to nominate a replacement for Akira Yamamura so I can start running Kyoto Ring tomorrow.
Also, it looks like the appeal vote started by Winton is narrowly defeated, as Aeroracing are unlikely to vote for their driver's disqualification from the standings. Kingfisher and Aeroracing can still vote if they want, though.

Re: Rejects of LFS: 2015 Aston Final now up
So RTS started the car picking process. Remember that each model can be used by no more than seven teams in total, and I've added the remaining amount of each car to the entry list.
The wiki page tells you most of each car's strenghts and weaknessess, but here's a short summary.
The wiki page tells you most of each car's strenghts and weaknessess, but here's a short summary.
- FXO is generally the slowest over a single lap. However, the difference in initial lap times is countered by the 4WD configuration, which is easier on the tyres and helps recovering from any possible accidents. Additionally, the car consumes less fuel than the other two, which can become an important factor in a long endurance event such as this.
- XR is the conservative approach in this class, offering a balance in speed and endurance. It's faster than the FXO, but slower than FZ50. Tyre wear and fuel usage is slightly higher than with FXO, and it is somewhat harder to control because of the FR layout.
- FZ50 is the riskier choice, as while it is faster than any other closed-clockpit car in the game, it's also very hard to control and eats up tyres and fuel at an astounding rate. You have to hope for a trouble-free race with this car, as it can poorly recover from accidents and spends more time in the pits than the others.

Winton Racing will be entering the event.
We will be number #13 in the FXR, and we will be taking Nathan McKane and Ragnar Larsen. If we can get a third driver off someone, that'd be great, too.
I'll whip a livery up soon.

MRT will take the FXO with the non-earth-shattering lineup of the father (of MRT El Presidente), the son (i.e. prodigal successor Macklin) and the holy ghost (Resident touring car driver Tom Douglas). Thus, leaving Hamilton to join the RBWRT should he choose to do so.

I can't even use him due to him not even being 20 yet

Former F1RGP2C driver Jorg Scrattenheim would like to get a drive in this, He has been mainly been racing GT and touring cars since his open wheel retirement so he is ready for this. If he doesn't get any offers he will race for my team

Interestingly, his wiki article is deliberately vague about his age, so if you set his birthday to something like August 95, you should be good to go. Unless I've missed something fundamental in the process.

On the old wiki I had his birthday as the 3rd of Feburary 1996 (so two years older than me in real life), But I guess I might think about changing it

Fusion will do as we always do; play it safe and go for the XR.

Team Rojo will take XR.
