Calm down dear, it's hard when there's so many better teams above Alitalia to pay attention to, you tend to forget the dealings of the lower teams! ;)

It will be hilarious looking back on this statement next season, when Alitalia will have vaulted ahead of Jones in the championship :)

Indeed Jones and Sunshine will be on the track, whilst Alitalia will be beating the rush back to the airport after another DNPQ.

McFry was running in 2nd place. Then he decided lapping Danny van Rijkens around the outside of Turn 2 was a great idea. Cue crashing into the wall at 180mph and destroying his chassis.

Idiot.

And Douglas Mann decided to be absolutely useless while being lapped, pissing everyone off. Still fluked his way into two undeserved points though.

And someone loved Mann so much that they placed him 18th in the championship with 3 points ahead of Shinobu Katayama and James Davies who have er 6 points.

I missed the race as I was asleep as was stupidly late in Taiwan, sounds like I missed a corker although disappointed by the lack of text commentary and places though.

It's probably a good thing you missed it though as Sunshine are now ahead of you in the championship, the guy you sacked a few weeks ago ended up on the podium, Du Lei crashed out of the easiest podium ever and Mori's now facing the possibility of a one race ban for causing all the chaos on lap 1

Daniel Melrose, making a special address to Tropico after the race wrote:Proud nation of Tropico. I come to you with most glorious news. Earlier today, our South African comrade Danny van Rijkens have done our people proud by scoring the first ever point of Tropico Grand Prix in the F1RWRS. This momentous occasion will go down in Tropico's rich history as one of our greatest achievements. And to celebrate this most wonderful result, tomorrow, Monday the 28th of September, has been declared a national holiday for Tropico. In addition, van Rijkens has been made a honourary citizen of our proud nation as rewards for his efforts on behalf of the Tropican people.

Well, he has to suck up to the people before announcing his intention to stand for election somehow

Sammy Jones wrote:I'm absolutely delighted for Rhys in what was a dominant performance, taking a comfortable win to really put himself and the team in an excellent position in both championships. He was superb all weekend, and has given Castrol Jones Racing its first ever hat-trick of pole, fastest lap and victory, and the team's first pole position since the 2012 Australian GP, and its first fastest lap since the 2012 British GP. Not only does this throw into stark reality the dominance in recent times of the DGN and MRT teams in terms of outright pace, but also the achievements of Rhys over the course of this weekend. Heading into the final two races of the season we now have the perfect platform to push for both championships. The position is somewhat similar to the closing stages of the 2012 season where we came so close, but ultimately fell short. I'm hoping this time the team can go one better, and either Rhys or Rosco can overhaul Dagnall and bring the drivers' title to Jones. We have one of the most reliable cars on the grid, and two of the finest drivers the sport has ever seen. Daniel Melrose and his boys will be having many sleepless nights over the coming weeks as they worry about the threat we pose. We will not stop until the last lap of the last race of the season is complete, we want these championships more than anything else.

I was actually watching the online footage with oral commentary. But I switched off as soon as McFry crashed. Damn you, McFry! Almost switched off after Pippa Mann's crash. Could have been such a good race for my drivers... Did Ben Fleet finish in the end? I imagine he was last, but in what place was last? 7th? 8th? Possibly even 6th?

8 out of 8th. With Koczo 7th. Alitalia so near yet so far from the points. Two more DNFs ahead and it would have been a double points finish for the team with the second least powerful engine in F1RWRS!

To be fair, he was involved in the first lap shenanigans and dropped an entire minute to the rest of the field while limping to the pitlane for repairs, which cost him an extra 30 seconds. He could maybe have battled Koczo and Van Rijkens for the last point without that mess.

Battle is well and truly joined in the fight for 12th place in the constructors' championship, with Prospec on 2 points only just holding off HRT and Tropico, while Alitalia look capable of scoring points as well. Why is this important? Well, with the withdrawal of DGN, 12th place in the constructors' will be the final place which avoids pre-qualifying come the start of 2016. Any points at this late stage could be vital, especially with Prospec and HRT still needing to go through pre-qualifying in Fuji.

Am I right in calculating that Gillet will have to go through pre-qualifying at the next race?

I don't think this is true. The only way this can happen is through extremely severe attrition. Alitalia's best result in F1RWRS is 7th, twice, in both cases it was David Koczo. Last year it was on the team's debut, and he was 7th out of 7 runners, with Dave Simpson having already retired. In the last race he was 7th out of 8 runners, only with team-mate Fleet behind.

We are pulling off miracles in qualifying, but you can't do miracle quali laps 50 times in a row. I don't think we can score points, but at least we'll probably the best of the teams that fail to do so.

Claiming the Sunshine car is improved when you finished in front of even weaker cars like the Tropico and Alitalias and Douglas Mann does not really prove much, you still probably put bugger all in into improving the car. I am just getting used to the Revolution, you just wait until a dry race happens.

James Davies wrote:Oh come off it. Daniel was fighting for a podium in Zandvoort as well, a race with much less attrition. The car has definately improved - sure, it's nowhere near the level that the team were at last year, but it's a hell of a lot better than it was when you last drove it. Nearly 6 months ago. But at no point did we ever hold up a Dofasco. A Dofasco of all things.

In light of recent events, MRT would like to answer the RoLFS commission's request and start a petition to have Tanner Jason banned from all major RWRS-sanctioned championships for the next two seasons at least, effective immediately.

Scuderia Alitalia can be considered the first name on the list...

Autodynamics support a one season ban but not more than that as I have seen other worse examples examples of stupid driving that haven't resulted in such tragic results.

Well, I fully support Wizzie's petition, however, to me sounds more natural a 2-year ban. I'd also propose a 1 year ban for Tristan Jung, who apparently ignored yellow flags too (there should have been flags when Fukuda was rejoining the track), causing the first collission.

I'm currently examining the replay further - specifically, I'm looking at Tristan Jung's in-car view around the time of the collision. If he did not make any effort to avoid the collision I'm also in favor of some sort of a ban. After all, Martyn Rietacher was ahead of him and managed to avoid Fukuda.
