Division C: The European Madness DivisionExpect to see some crazy racing from this Division.
Jenson Button,
Mark Dagnall, the
Iceman and
Rhys Davies make up the upper echelon of the division.
Frank Zimmer,
Checo Perez and
Thomas De Bock comprise the middle class of the division. Everyone else is a totally unknown quantity. If we were to rank everyone's inconsistency on a graph, those seven would be at the bottom, then we'd hit
Jari Kekkonen,
Gordon Shedden,
Sebastien Buemi,
Marc Goossens,
Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen and
Jean-Luc Schiller. After that, all bets are off.
Ron Mignolet has been remarkably inconsistent for DGN this year.
Ashley Watkinson and
Jos the Boss are accident-prone.
Valtteri Bottas and
Robin Frijns haven't been that great in Formula 1 so far, although Frijns has some talent (obviously, I'm extrapolating). All the European Microstate drivers, the Bulgarian drivers,
Pablo Galaz,
Stoffel Vandoorne,
Martin van der Maeyede and
Nick Nurmester are totally unknown quantities. I can already see it. Djurov will qualify at Brands Hatch due to Galaz's ineptitude. Djurov starts last, makes his way up to 20th but spins out at Turn 1 and starts a chain reaction crash that takes out half the field. I'm nervous. As for the teams, the UK 1 team certainly drew an easy group with only Raikkonen, Australia 2 and De Bock as their main competitors. It appears that the commissioner drew the groups with stronger teams from the Netherlands, Mexico and Finland in mind. I have no idea what he was thinking. Did he think Mika Hakkinen would unretire? Did he think that Pieter Kickert or Jesus Plaza would be selected? We may never know.
PredictionsOverall Drivers' Winner: Mark Dagnall

Teams that will advance: UK 1, Australia 2, Belgium, Finland
Round Winners:1. Kimi

Division D: The Weakest LinkIf Division A is loaded with talent, Division D clearly drew the shortest straw in the driver lottery. Other than
Fernando Alonso, there are no other top-line drivers in this group. The strongest overall team should be the Japanese outfit with
Kamui Kobayashi,
Takuma Sato,
Hagane Shizuka and
Hansuke Shioya, although F1RMGP standouts
Yuji Ide and
Hideki Noda were left in the cold. Spain has Alonso and
Phoenix McAllister but Gene and Torrente are weak candidates at best (why no love for De La Rosa, may I ask

). Brazil has
Nelson Piquet Jr. which discounts them from any team unity.
Jalmerson da Cunha has some talent but he needs another year to mature. Why didn't
Rubens Barrichello get the nod? I'm sure
Robert Moreno and
Antonio Pizzonia don't have anything better to do right now. I would have taken any of these guys over Piquet Jr.! It's also stunning that nobody called up
Pedro Chaves to partner
Daniel Martins at Portugal. Instead, they have been saddled with three mediocre drivers from the feeder series. Russia, Denmark and Austria are all middling teams, even if Austria does have the feared
Alexander Wurz
. Could Wurz rig the whole field with a neurotoxin so that he can win every race? I wouldn't put it past him... Anyways, I hope the Pan-African team has a good showing. For the championship, Spain and Japan will likely run away with this one. USA 2 doesn't have the numbers to compete, although they will make things interesting. All the other teams will likely steal points from each other, leaving only two teams to advance from this group.

Concluding Remarks: After all the love we expended on Luca Badoer in the JDD forum, how does he get snubbed in the F1RNC! What true F1 Rejects reader looks at the list of Italian drivers and says: "Enrico Bertaggia and Vicenzo Sospiri are better than Luca Badoer"????
The campaign to replace Bertaggia or Sospiri with Badoer at the Italy team begins now! You can still change it Mr. Lindsay! There's still time to let poor old Luca in! He has been overlooked for his entire career, and he has been tragically overlooked yet again! The Italian national team is not complete without Luca Badoer! This is the chance to give him the second comeback he deserves! He's already driving for SAAC in the F1RMGP!
