I am fairly sure that Taz Douglas confirmed that he wouldn't be in V8 Supercars in 2013

When? Every source I know has him as one of three favourites for the second LDM seat, with Fiore and Blanchard.

He said in Auto Action that he would likely not be kept on for 2013, and that he would race in the Victorian Formula Ford Championship. So that is quite a step down if it is true

Murph returns to where it all began

I now DEMAND that the team run the number 51 for Sandown and Bathurst.

It's almost as if Erebus are trying to be crap on purpose this year. I can think of at least half a dozen drivers that deserve the drive far more than this guy, whoever he is.

When their car has had a fair bit less development time than all three other manufacturers being crap is a forgone conclusion for 2013 anyway. In my opinion at least

You are forgetting the basic rule of V8 Supercars - under the body, the cars are all exactly the same. Unless you're going on about building the things, in which case they've already got two done - only Walkinshaw (they've done 3 out of 4), FPR (3/4), the Kellys (3/4) and Triple Eight (4/6, I think, but I know they got LDM and Tekno to send troops to help) have built more. GRM and BJR are close to finishing their second (and BJR need three as well), and DJR have, well, none. In fact, if any manufacturer is screwed it's Nissan - the engines are down on power and the Kellys might end up begging V8SCA to limit the other three manufacturers in the name of parity.

Speaking of our egotistical friends down in Mildura, when are they gonna get around to announcing Caruso and Moffat as their drivers for the two Norton cars?

Is it just me or did FPR remember at the last minute that Castrol was actually a sponsor of the team and ended up doing a last-minute botch job of putting their logo on the cars?

Now, how much of that is due to Ford FINALLY putting some money into DJR under the threat of massive customer backlash remains to be seen.

Take note T8. THIS is how you make an all-red livery work.

Wow, that's impressive. 8-)

I don't know about the FPR cars. First I think they look decent, next thing I know they look hideous. Are these the only teams that have revealed their liveries so far?

Holden wanted a big show to reveal the VF V8 Supercar with HRT. So what happens? BJR and GRM reveal their cars several days ahead of schedule

For the record, those cars look fan-fricken-tastic. It's a shame about the rear wing, but the rest of the car is sheer brilliance.

And not a Rockstar logo in sight. It's back to the future for HRT and frankly, I'm loving it.

I'm expecting Triple 8 to ruin the vibe of the new VF with some dull and uninspired corporate livery however. :|

They're definitely going to go for their standard "WINSLOL" livery.
they should at least give the Toro Rosso livery style a try. get a little bit more artsy with the details on the bull and have a gold nose.

ALSO: nobody found these yet?

I'd like to see Salo and Kurt Busch both in V8 Supercars. The rage out of both of them would be comedic although I don't see Kurt Busch being able to leave NASCAR's money without some younger or more recent champion unable to find a ride.

We all go nuts when the RBR F1 Team put a hint of purple on their cars, but we all go to sleep with the Aussie V8 RBR having a very similar livery. Our expectations must be so high (or so Low) on Red Bull (and their liveries, in this case) that when they don't deliver we all must deflate like balloons at the mediocrity.

I mean, it does its job and doesn't look offensive. Isn't that what a huge company like a Red Bull want? (cue debate after I go to sleep)

But Triple 8 got all our hopes up that they might be remotely exciting this year with the hilariously rejectful (and dare I say way out of character) promo video last month. To then do this to us is just disappointing.

But if it's any consolation, it's at least not vomit-inducing like the Pepsi-Max FPRs are.

EDIT: http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/02/14/red-bulls-v8-supercars-and-formula-1-teams-to-integrate/

Oh dear god. The last thing we need is Triple 8 to be even more dominant than they already are. Why can't the NSW Supreme court hurry up and get that Monster vs Whincup case sorted already?

Don't worry, it's not over yet...

...but the case will be most likely resolved after Clipsal, so expect more WhincupWinsLOL in Adelaide.

Oh, and after seeing the acronym for Red Bull Racing Australia (RBRA) in that article, I shall now call Triple 8 "Team Ahh Bra"

There's no sense of balance in the design of the car. It's a very corporate, bland design done in the Red Bull colors that doesn't quite have the energetic look an energy drink company should have! The differences between the Red Bull F1 and the Red Bull V8s are a difference between night and day.

The colors are similar, but the general design of both liveries is worlds apart. The Red Bull F1 has stripes that flow along the body lines very well. This just has the Red Bull, the yellow circle, and a white/red stripe running around the bottom.

I mean... really?

Look at the NASCAR Red Bull cars from 2007...

Image

Image

Energetic. It's got a lot going on.

Then there's this car Kasey Kahne ran in 2011...

Image

It's not great but it's a lot better than what Red Bull dished up for the V8.
