Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
would the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve count as an olympic park because the Rowing Lae from the 1976 olympics is next to it

It's been long enough, and it's a tie between UgncreativeUsergname and dr-baker, meaning Grovey has to decide.

Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
It's been a week, so I withdraw my vote, making me the winner! Yay!
So here's a challenge I came up with:
1. You must specify the location of the pit lane. Seriously, do it or you're disqualified.
2. You can't build new roads except for the pit lane.
3. The track must be 5-6km long.
4. You can only use roads that are yellow on gmap-pedometer.

Here's my entry: The Circuit de Verviers in Belgium. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5820389
The start finish line is exactly where it is on gmap on the Rue Louis Biérin. The pitlane runs parallel to the Rue Louis Biérin on the inside of the ciruit. The circuit itself offers a variety of different corners and large elevation changes.

Not a bad tactic though. How about I add my vote to the collection? Would that help?
At least the competition continues that way. For the record, you two could share the win.

Yeah, that would probably help make it less "controversial", if that's the word.

If dr-baker doesn't vote, I'll change the table at the wiki to reflect that.
EDIT: I realised that that means dr-baker has no motivation to vote, so I'll just say we share the win.

The deadline is 05:00 UTC at 24 February because I said so, so if you (yes, you) feel like putting in an entry, go ahead and you'll probably win by default.

Hope this complies. Pit lane either along Prospect Hill/Bucks Road or else a new parrallel new pit lane along the promenade near the ferry terminal. If I had to choose, I would say the latter, but I'm not sure about practicalites.

A street circuit in a city where I wouldn't go.

Pitlane between Imam Musa Al Kadhim street and river, just around the startline.

If nobody minds, I'm going to hijack the hosting of this for a single round within the next couple of days. You'll see why then.

Well, as the de facto current organiser, I'll temporarily hand the hosting over to you for the next round.

The only problem is that we need one more track, since with fewer than four the scoring system breaks.

I will try to post a track as long as I figure out how to use the gmap-pedometer thing on an iPad.

If there is, it's not apparent at all. If you made a track for this round, we'd have four and the voting could begin, but like you said, I don't know how many people would be interested.

Re: F1 Rejects Track Designing Competition
I see you need another track for this round, and so I present the Lagos SuperPrix, two bridges, long straights and some fast, sweeping bends. The pit lane would be the opposite carriageway of Eko Bridge.

Well, here's a really quickly-created one not far from my home: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5893918
The pitlane is on Lahdentie on the empty grass lot between Kaskelankuja and Kaskelanrinne. The track offers extreme elevation changes on Koulutie.
