tommykl wrote:When you mean engine changes are mandatory, does that mean that I can get another engine that will still be a Gillet? Because I reached to power limit on this Judd too many months ago
There will still be a Gillet engine available But you can chose not to get it and get another one (no rebranding allowed).
By the way, I can confirm there'll be a Free chassis and a Free engine along with the Free tyres. But teams will only be able to chose one of the three.
Does that mean that if I keep the Gillet engine, I'll keep the same hunk of crap I've had for the past three seasons?
According to the engine list, you have a Judd GV10 rather than an actual Gillet engine, thus the two are unrelated. It will have different stats to the GV10. You will be shown the stats to the Gillet powerplant before anyone else and given the option to take it, or pass and wait for the market to open to get something else.
Like Aerond said, everyone will have a new engine. The entire system is changing, so no-one will be using the same engine they had for this season. Well, that's my understanding at least.

Which is slightly crap for those who heavily invested in a decent engine last season in the hope of being free to invest in a highly needed new chassis next season, ending up with half the cash, no engine and a very outdated and therefore useless chassis... I sense backmarking days for some (read Sunshine).

And Simpson. And HRT.
Actually, out of curiosity, how many people sacrificed 2015 with a crap chassis in the hope of mating a good engine with a good chassis for 2016?
Aerond, could you email me my current chassis and engine stats please? Just for comparison more than anything. I tried to keep track of my updates, but I lost the track at some point.

Add Kingfisher to the above list. Had a good engine this year, coupled with an outdated and unreliable chassis. Was hoping to invest all money from this year (of which there will be quite a bit), to have a fast engine/chassis combo. So back to square 1 again.

Well, I missed out on the decent chassis that I wanted last time round, because I was away in the lead-up to the market open and totally misunderstood how to apply, thereby losing the chance to get the chassis I wanted. This time, however...

What on earth are you going on about? The engine was perfectly fine. It just had a rubbish car to go with it

I'm half-tempted to go for that, but I have no literally no idea how much money I have, or how much that engine cost new.

Erm, slight problem there. You can't sell your engine to anyone for next year because nobody's allowed to buy any 2015-spec engines for next year when the new system kicks in.

We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Depends on how long it takes to do the NC races and how long aerond wants to finalise the new rules package.

Actually with that, we could rebadge them on the wiki for the sake of storylines with little annotations explaining their situation, while you keep them as their original names in the carsets for GP2, much like I do with Ronden's Lancias/Zastavas in the F2RWRS.

Now, to refresh memories and make it easier to find again:
I'm more than happy to help out - I've already started on the Kingfisher, as I've already got a brief for a livery I was meant to do a couple of months ago (sorry about that AdrianSutil!). If everyone could post their ideas for a livery, that'd be great, so that me and the other guys who are good at liveries such as Ataxia and Nuppiz could take on the projects.
Rumours are starting to filter through out of the Netherlands that Gruen Beer has signed a title sponsorship deal with Boxtel for 2016 only. Originally, it was speculated that they were going to sign with Revolution but they felt that the reputation of Amsterdam fitted their brand much better.

Alright, even though TMLW hasn't even begun the Indy race, I want the carset for the Baltic Sea GP done as soon as possible. Therefore would everyone please look at the entry list on page 44. All driver changes ought to be done until I've returned from the Harlem Globetrotters show on Sunday. Should HRT not nominate drivers until then, I will put the Super Zimmer Bros and Du Lei/Renaldo Jimenez in a hat and draw a driver pairing from it.
From the first work on it, the carset looks more realistic than the Nürburgring one - aside from Holden being bloody overpowered - and I will post the grid calculator once it is done.

Oh, the Baltic Sea GP. I already sent you my livery via Facebook, and based on download stats you already got it.
Our drivers will be Nick Nurmester and Tommi Hämäläinen, slightly on the contrary to earlier reports. Going with an all-Finnish lineup for obvious reasons.

Revolution and sponsorship? No.

It's a Revolution that they even get sponsorship in the first place.

It has been disclosed to us that Autodynamics are in financial trouble and are on the verge of demoting Damon Cannon for a pay driver. There have recently been rumours circulating around the paddock that Cannon's job is less than safe but key Autodynamics staff have been nothing but pleased with his performance. Now it appears that it will be money that will sideline him to test driver. A anonymous source inside Autodynamics ans reportedly stated that "it is an option being looked at, it isn't what we want as Damon has done a truly great job behind the wheel. But if it is the only option we will do it to insure our long term survival". One suggested possibility is that a deal with Gillet could be reached for the services of Jean-Vincent Albertini.

Has anyone else done any Indy liveries? I got the Kingfisher ones and have done HRT, Revolution, Gillet, Kamaha, MRT and Sunshine, although they've all been done quickly and lazily, especially since I'm working off the pictures of the cars Aerond posted at the start of the season and can't make out many sponsors. I also need Simpson to confirm drivers, and Sunshine to replace Katayama. I'll probably be able to run the race after Easter (delayed due to exams/holidays), so you've got a week or two.

Just use the JLD liveries for Indy. It'll save me having to do special one-off liveries for the event
