Anyone remember the V8 Supercars based championship I plan to run. Well, it is here. Sort of.

Re: F1 Rejects V8 Supercar League: Ideas & Suggestions
First of all, can we have that co-driver rule abolished? Secondly, can we have both Dunlop Series and Main Game teams in the one category, if only for the sake of the ridiculously large grids at places like Bathurst? Finally, would we sourcing cars in the same way that the V8 teams currently do? (i.e. Teams like T8, FPR, SBR and the Walkinshaw group sourcing their own cars and the rest of the teams buying customer cars from those teams)

Re: F1 Rejects V8 Supercar League: Ideas & Suggestions
I've got a few questions in regards to how this series will be run:
- Will it use a game (V8 Supercars 3, rFactor, etc) or a results generator (Xkoranate)?
- What manufacturers can we choose, just Ford & Holden, or Nissan and Mercedes as well (or possibly even more manufacturers)?
- Do we use real teams & drivers, or fictional drivers and teams (or a combination of both)?
This is a cool spot.

Re: F1 Rejects V8 Supercar League: Ideas & Suggestions
I was actually planning to run this with NR2003. I am not sure If i said this in the FORWSOGMM thread bit it will be set in 2011 so just Holden and Ford at first but new manufacturers will be gradually introduced in the future. All drivers and teams are real. Everything else is TBA at the monent.

NR2003? That means 43 car grids, correct? If so, dis gon be gud.
Now, all we need to do is wait for Kostas to take Walkinshaw and the fun will really begin.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

HRT was always going to be mine from the whole time
And to be honest the grid will probably be capped at 30-32 for most of the season with one offs allowed for the big events.

I demand a full grid at Bathurst!
As long as the calendar includes Eastern Creek and doesn't visit Yas Marina, then I'm happy.

I'm guessing the big events will be Adelaide, Sandown, Bathurst and the GC, correct?
Speaking of the GC, I don't want any of this international co-driver crap. Instead, I want it as one 600km enduro around the original layout, just because I can. And also, could you please make Albert Park a championship round?

The calendar will depend on what tracks are available. And there will be a full grid at Bathurst, possibly including an entry driven by me and Grovey in real life ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

I meant that we would drive the car on the game ourselves
And Kostas, you can have Walkinshaw Performance. I am only taking HRT

Not sure which team I'll manage in this... can't decide between FPR, SBR, DJR, Triple F or deciding to alter history by bringing Triple 8 back to Ford.
This is a cool spot.

I have a better idea...I take control of Triple Eight and plonk Fabrizio Giovanardi into a Holden full-time

Sandown simply HAS to have the 500 before Bathurst, not Phillip Island. They can have that Norton Challenge instead. I'd also say have Albert Park as a championship round after Adelaide, which can then be paired up with Winton as round three ahead of Perth and the three rounds above the 'Brisbane Line'.

I believe all current tracks are available except Hamilton, Townsville and Sydney Olympic Park. Oran Park is also available if you want to pretend it never closed down.

Seeing as the grid in this series would be larger than in real life, can BJR expand to four cars (2 works BJRs and two Britek cars) as I've just had some brilliant ideas for what I'm going to run for the series?

Re: F1 Rejects V8 Supercar League: Ideas & Suggestions
Over the past few days, I have been working on a personal pet project for GTR2... the end result is our very own V8 Supercar championship using a combined custom carset comprising of the 2008 and 2009 mods. A team uses its budget to pay the entry fees for each race weekend ($10k per weekend or $150k for an entire season; $5k per weekend or $75k for an entire season for single-car teams) and to pay for regular and enduro drivers (which offers regular drivers accept will be determined by Flaschenpost's patented decision making system while enduro drivers will be a free-for-all). A team earns $1000 for every point it scores under the old points system from 2003-2005. If I can figure out how to edit individual car performance, I'll add the option to buy car upgrades later in the year as well.
All drivers must be real drivers that would at least remotely consider driving a V8 supercar (Although that second criteria will be relaxed for enduro drivers). In addition, teams have the option to take up paydrivers, or in the case of teams like Britek, Greg Murphy Racing or Triple F, can enter their team boss in the car free of charge. But bear in mind, they will still consider attractive offers from other teams.
As far as part time entries go, each team will have the option between the older cars (BF Falcon or VEI Commodore) and each event will have a certain amount of wildcards depending on the grid limit for each track, up to a maximum of 40 entries. These will be announced on a round-by-round basis. The larger full-time teams such as T8 or HRT can also enter part-time cars, which will be eligible for championship points but not necessarily for prize money, as that will come from the two highest placed cars for each team on any given weekend.

I will confirm that I will take HRT and put Tander and W Davison in the driving seats (staying true to 2009) and reserve Mark Skaife for one of the endurance seats. Also, can the bigger teams buy out one of the smaller teams in order to expand to two cars?

I'll confirm GRM, with Holdsworth and Caruso in the cars. In accordance with traditional GRM policy, I'll leave announcing the endurance drivers until the week before the 500 ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

You're gonna have to make offers to both Tander and Will Davidson, but Tander has a very high chance of staying at HRT as he feels happy there. Davidson might be an interesting case though but with enough money, he should be your second driver for next year. And yes, you can have the team boss as an enduro driver.

SBR's all yours mate. But like with Eurobrun above, you're gonna have to make offers for your drivers.

What is a reasonable price for the drivers?

I'll take Ford Performance Racing. I do not know much about V8 Supercars,so I'll just take the two drivers who I believe are good for me:Shane van Gisbergen and Mark Winterbottom

Using the defending champ Whincup as a benchmark of around $800-900k, I'd say around $700k for Tander and $600-650k for Davison should be enough to keep them both on board

I have no idea what I'm doing here, so I guess I'll just take DJR and hope I'm not too crap. As for drivers... I guess continuity is never too bad, so I'll try and secure James Courtney. For the other seat... well, Mat Jackson doesn't have anything lined up at the moment - despite, y'know, beating Jason Plato's works SEAT with his family-run BMW last year - so I'm gonna try and sign him, and hope he transfers well to V8s. What would be a reasonable offer for them?
EDIT: I'll offer James Courtney $650k, and Mat Jackson $200k

I'd like to take charge of Walkinshaw Motorsport.
Dumbrell and Reynolds can f*** off, we're getting new drivers instead. We'll offer The Enforcer $250K and former BTCC champion James Thomposon $250K as well. Failing that, our backup choices are Fabian Coulthard at $150K, and then Jonathon Webb $100K as well.

Another thought occurs:
Why do the Kellys have #11? Surely if Larry never gave up the game he'd keep it?

I don't understand this either. Even though Larry's RECs were #11 and #16, Perkins Racing indeed ran with #7 and #15 and Kelly Racing used #11 and #16. I still have no idea why, but that is exactly what happened.
Just because it doesn't make sense, doesn't mean it ain't so!

Much like Salamander, I'm going to be a bit of a headless chicken at this. However, I'll give it a damn good go...
I'll take Perkins Motorsport (because, well, Jack Daniel's!); and I'll drop in with my driver decisions in a bit when I've done some research.
EDIT: Right, so I'll offer $750k to get Craig Lowndes, and $450k for Fabrizio Giovanardi.

Not quite. When Perkins and the Kellys came together, Perkins owned the #7 and #11, the Kellys had the #15 and #16 from the HSV Dealer Team. They swapped the #7 and #16 around so the Kellys could run the #7 and #15 as the Jack Daniel's Racing (one entity for point scoring purposes), while Perkins owned the #11 and #16 (AKA Kelly Racing).

I'm going to take Triple 8 and re-write history... that's right, they're staying a Ford team after the 2009 season! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
