Hello ladies and gentlemen !

Do you manage some young driver and want to add a line to his early career ? A driver looking for a drive anywhere ? Here comes the rFactor Lupo GTI Championship.

A bit of « history »
The ADAC Volkswagen Lupo Cup had its final season on 2003 before being replaced by the ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup.

The Lupo GTI Championship
Mid 2015, a little group of german investors contacted Volkswagen Racing to negociate a deal. They wanted to buy 20 Volkswagen Polo to create a new reject championship. The german brand quickly refused but made a new offer : 20 unsold Lupo GTI and a stock of parts for a modest amount of money. A phone call later, the deal was concluded and the Lupo GTI Championship was about to born.

The inaugural Lupo GTI Championship will take place on 2016. Twenty (20) cars will be allowed to compete.

Qualifying and Race format
Free practice and qualifying will be one same session : 60 minutes
Race : 30 minutes.

Points scoring system
Similar to the one used in Formula One between 2003 and 2009.
1st : 10 points
2nd : 8 points
3rd : 6 points
4th : 5 points
5th : 4 points
6th : 3 points
7th : 2 points
8th : 1 point

1 point will be awarded for pole position and another for the fastest lap.

Trophies / Awards
There will be one main championship and three trophies.
Junior of the year : For drivers younger than 23.
Senior of the year : For drivers older than 23.
Woman of the year : For women only.

Women will be allowed to compete in two trophies, « Woman of the year » and Junior / Senior of the year.

Provisionnal calendar (subject to change) :

Teams and Drivers
Each team can enter a maximum of two cars.
Each team can use a maximum of two drivers per car during the season, except in extraordinary cases.
Drivers MUST be fictional and older than 16.

Notes
This is still in testing phase. However, this has made good progresses.
For technical reasons, there won't be live streams for the races.
Live commentaries on mibbit/IRC is a possibility.
Cosmetic stuff such as liveries / templates is still in research and being worked on.
Considering this is a support series and a possible feeder for the RTCC, the inaugural round will take place just before the first round of the RTCC.

Should it get off the ground, Davies Racing Team would be interested in fielding a 2 car team in this series. Twinings have agreed to extend the title sponsorship agreement from the RTCC to here.

I fixed an enormous mistake in my original post. Only the special round on the Norisring is supposed to be divised in two heats, and one final heat. All the other rounds will start with 20 cars.

FGCR, Nebula Grand Prix, Équipe Fantomette and Rosenforth Engineering are currently listed as two cars team.
You can find the application form in the first post to submit a new entry / confirm your drivers and other informations !

Whoa whoa whoa. Although you view might be based on the considerable amount of series that have failed before they've even started, I very much doubt this series will share that fate anytime soon. It has been thoroughly planned on the IRC channel, and all but one of the entries have been snatched in less than one day. I wouldn't be surprised if the series had to eventually start utilizing a waiting list.
