Chris James was the most penalised driver in the 2012 BTCC. He got a lot more penalties for bad driving than Neate. And he was a total bathplugging retard on the internet.

I'm curious as to what Chris James was tweeting last year. Was he just slagging everyone off for no good reason or something? It looks like he no longer has a presence on Twitter.

EDIT: Does he tweet through his own team's account? Because said account looks incredibly unprofessional for a racing team.

I don't know about the account being for the team, but unprofessionalism is massive on the account. Chris James for you.

The fact that Dave Newsham was winning races in that vectra, an older, slower car than the NGTC cars is great...

I now have 402 posts. But when I'm frequently gone on weekends, it allows my post rate to go down a little. So little that Kimi-ICE has nearly caught me. So, maybe we should have a contest to see who can get to 500 posts first, like East Londoner did with pasta_maldonado. Kimi did join nearly a month after me, too...

I am not going to compete for 2 reasons

1 You have 409 posts i will now have 358

2 I'm going to the British Grand Prix so i will only be around before and after the race for the predictions' ROTR' IIDOTR' the ratings and a bit of discussion. That's a big chance for you to be miles ahead

I'm pretty sure I've never had any sort of competition, not even a friendly pact, with East Londoner. Don't know where the hell you got that one from go_rubens!

Only a small number of my first 1,000 posts were meant for post count inflation, as young Mr Brun said, everyone falls foul of that little game when they join. :P

Hey! Stay cool, man! Stay cool!

I know, I was a bit of a scheming c**t, but I was watching the whole time, by the way.

Plus, there were only 7 finishers in Australia in '08, so this low amount of finishers has happened before.

I didn't decide every retirement, either.

Plus, I've been doing a lot more activity in the PMMF, so that could be a part of it as well.

Right, I think I've seen enough. First, arguing about who has the most posts and how they've gotten so much in a short time is extremely childish, and behavior like this should be stopped immediatedly. I don't care who started it because it shoud never happen in the first place, and using swear words to emphasize what you have and what you haven't done is only making it worse.

Second, the NJ GP thread. I already warned once that it was going way out of hand and would be locked if there was no improvement. OK, it did get slightly better so I allowed for it to go on until the end of the "race". But even during the race people disagreed on what should and what shouldn't have happened, and I'm quite certain it will just continue now that the so-called "race" is over. The post quality in that thread was nowhere near that of Bahrain 2011.

Cancelled GPs don't happen often, but when the next one comes around, I don't want to see a repeat of this. So preferrably don't start a topic for it at all, because clearly people can't agree with each other the way they used to do anymore.

I think the problem may be that members are, quite simply, just trying too hard to recreate what they see as "the good old days" of the forum, and as a result stuff like this happens on a regular basis. Maybe the forum has become a victim of its own success? I hate to say it, but even I'm starting to see a decline in standards. And that is a sad thing to see and say. :|

It's a natural evolution. We would either be part of the evolution, or not be part of it, but we can't stop it. It's a simple fact that when more people know the website, more people will find the forum, with more people, the percentage of interesting posts will decrease. However, in absolute numbers, we have more good posts than ever. It's just that in absolute numbers, we also have more bad posts. And i know i'm also contributing towards the second category sometimes, but i'm doing my best to sometimes be part of the first category, as i think quality is worth more than quantity. I think most people actually agree with me. I also hope that the old guys don't give up on this forum. Yes, you will have to deal with these kids. If you can't handle kids, i suggest you go go living in a retirement home, because kids are being produced in huge numbers these days. It will not get any better. The good old days are over, so let's go for the good new days, then?

If thats a genuine opinion then it gets my vote as perhaps the daftest one ever expressed on here.

Is it like Facebook where kids need to have thousands of 'Friends' to prove how

Actually, the massive Friends list on Facebook makes as little sense to me as actually caring what your post count is on here.

We can sort this out by removing that number of posts from the screens cant we? Is that technically possible? It could make the people that are only here to rack up big numbers go elsewhere.

I know other forums lack a post count, so I think there should be something in the board admin tools that should disable that. It would be for the best if the post count was disabled.

Yeah, I kinda agree with that. I started both threads, and those two threads reflect how the forums have changed over the past few years. As and when another comes round, I think either it doesn't happen, or I could work on some firm ground rules to insert into the first post to highlight expectations?

I know other forums lack a post count, so I think there should be something in the board admin tools that should disable that. It would be for the best if the post count was disabled.

It shouldnt affect any right-minded members so perhaps we could give it a try.

Edit: I have never really cared much for my post count and I never will do.

Apparently, today marks three years since I joined this madhouse as a slightly naive 15 year old. Who knew what horrors I was letting myself in for...
