The old man and I just got our motorhome ready for "camp-over" racing season this past weekend, and since we really only use it as a toilet/shower unless it rains, it only has a 13-inch TV/VCR combo with a PS2 in it. Out of boredom I went to Gamestop, and picked up 6 games for $21! In addition to Need for Speed Underground 1 & 2, and NASCAR: 2006, For $1.79, (or about 8 pence thanks to Obama and friends), I got, purely on a whim, Speed Racer: The Video Game. It is based off the movie (I know, I'm the only one who enjoyed it, I'm weird) and is EPIC! Think about F-Zero GX and Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer have a love child and you'd be close, with some original '90s Need For Speed thrown in (4-minute Laps!).

Its the first racing game I've played that doesn't have a button for brakes. You have throttle, steering, and five buttons for "Car-Fu". Each attack nets you points, and in addition to points for Top-5 finishes and fastest lap, your car-fu score is converted at a 1000:1 ratio to championship points! I did a race last night in full "homicidal maniac mode" and despite finishing 9th (a non-points paying position) I scored more points that the person who finished P2 and had fastest lap! So Oppa Grosean Style would be a Multi time WDC under this system. It is needed for balance though, because some drivers are stupid fast, fragile actual racers (like the Grey Ghost,) and some are balanced nicely (Like Speed himself) others are just tanks who don't really have a chance of winning and need to bring the boom (like Racer X) and some are just useless (like Trixie). Overall, I recommend finding/buying it. If you're a fan of the show/movie, its loaded with fanservice, if you're not, its a cheap highly addicting fantasy racer. Win-Win!

A sarcastic Let's Play for the game you linked above.

Meanwhile, at the moment, I am playing MUGEN again - you know, that awesome fighting game engine. If you want to see my roster, just ask me. (Hint: I have Rare Akuma [video is not mine]. :)

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/06/microsoft-details-xbox-one-used-games-always-online

Microsoft has talked to IGN to "clarify" some facts about the X1.

1.) Yes, It is online
2.)Yes, you will have to pay a used games fee, but blame the publishers
3) You will be able to trade in games to SELECTED retailers.
4.) You can "gift" games, but not loan or rent them, at least not for a while.
5.)Yes Kinect has to always be on, you cn turn it off, but then turn it on for games (TV will work fine)
6.)No the Kinect is not recording, honest. (Sure it isn't......)

Seems microsoft is hiring people to troll message boards. I know of at least one that got caught on Gamefaqs (poor bastard quoted and replied to his own post, thinking he was on his alt name). If you have to go to these lengths, I dunno, why not just change the product?

Link's diatribe (after finishing Ocarina of Time)

So, Ganon, you thought you could take me on with your huge demonic swinging tail when you didn't like me beating you at tennis, eh? Let me teach you something: it's OVER, Ganon! Taste the kiss of steel, even though it isn't the sword I wanted to use because I've got one that's bigger and better, but so be it with the rules...

*SPLAT!*

GAME OVER! *cracks knuckles* And now to be recognised throughout the land, although before I am, first I'd better get my fake ID and see if it'll get me a few pints in the Kakariko tavern that's an underground speakeasy because I couldn't find it anywhere. Actually, come on, I've just saved the whole of Hyrule pretty much single-handed, if they can't bend the laws a bit now, then when...

Wait, Zelda... what are you doing... ZELDA! NO! STOP PLAYING THAT OCARINA!

*whoosh*

What's this? Why does everything look so big? Why is my voice so squeaky? And where's all the bum-fluff on my chin gone?

Oh, great. Brilliant! You've turned me into a boy again. OK, I know, you might think this is payback for what I did to the bloke in the windmill and ruined his whole reason for existence but still, this is a bit harsh, isn't it? Not only do I now have to go through puberty properly with all the raging hormones and the acne and the complete loss of control of both arms (well, actually, that's not so different from all the times I was trying to swat that little runt who swarmed around my head and said "HEY! LISTEN!" every five minutes when I was engaged in far more pressing matters) and shouting "YOU'RE SO UNFAIR!" at the parents I don't have... but you made me miss out on the big party that everyone went to and there was my future all set in stone there like the Master Sword is now, which, like I say, I don't exactly need anymore. I mean, I was going to ask Malon if I was that knight in shining armour she was dreaming about (of course now I can't because I'm ten years old again and I think girls are icky) and even if she wouldn't admit it I'm sure I could have asked the Gorons to bash me out a few chestplates and greaves and a helmet that's far more fetching than a green cloth cap that makes me look like a pointy-eared Robin Hood. You know, they owe me big time after I saved their dinner from being Tesco Value rocks for the rest of eternity. Next thing you know, I've got that song of hers on repeat play, the cows are squirting out that Lon Lon milk like it's going out of fashion and I can sell it all to that madman in the market who'll pay stupid money for it. I could have been rich, rich beyond the wildest dreams of that Giant's wallet, could have bought a bigger ranch, could have told that Ingo where to get off, could have paid those carpenters to do a decent job rebuilding the stable after Biggoron accidentally stomped it when he was dancing too hard, could have saved up for Impa's imminent trips to Weight Watchers which we know are coming up in the future after a couple of unfortunate incidents involving more time travel and the seasons all going round the bend... and then maybe in a couple of decades when I got bored of being rich and famous I could grow a beard, dress in purple and call myself Error and growl at anyone who tries to get me to do anything more than mention my own name. And, some time in the future, in a different world, a band of travelling troubadors called Ensi-somethingorother from strange place called "Fin Land" - hey, maybe it's where the Zoras go on holiday - will sing of my adventures.

But no, Zelda, you had to ruin it all, didn't you?

Back to my house in the forest I go with all those other irritating kids. There isn't even anywhere in that forest to ride my skateboard on, seeing as that's what kids my age are supposed to do. Or maybe I'll just write messages on Hyrule Castle Village's "Horseback Archery Rejects" noticeboard, and roundly mock that "Life" team who only had a three-legged horse with severe bronchitis and their jockey couldn't hit a target that was right in front of him.

Thank you, Zelda.

Thank you so much.

Yours very annoyedly,
Link.

(P.S. Although as I said I'm ten again and I think girls are icky, when I've grown up again, I promise I will never, ever let one of those Gerudos get anywhere near me. Especially after that trick they pulled with the cauldron of soup. Never forget, never forgive.)

Microsoft kick off E3 in just under 3 hours.

Will they continue to dig their own grave or can they save the Xbone? Their conference is 2 and a half hours long. I pray it won't be all TV, COD and EA sports.

Apparently Microsoft are unveiling 15 new games, quite a few of which are all-new franchises, so it shouldn't be as bad as the Xbone announcement, but given that Microsoft in general in the last 3-4 years has been all about shooting themselves in the foot, I'm not holding my breath.

I think you mean Sony. Though it is true that this is exactly what Nintendo needs; Microsoft to bomb so badly that it makes the Wii U look good just by not being the Xbone.

Also, if anyone didn't catch the Microsoft conference, don't worry: TotalBiscuit has you covered.

So they spend some of their allotted time to show off the XBOne's capabilities...AND they're releasing the 900th version of the 360.

I've had enough of this...I'm going to stick to Hogs of War and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the next 14 years until the PS4 drops in price by £9 and a sticky bun.

It's $499 US Dollars, which is £320. Microsoft clearly hate the UK.

No kidding, Klon! Also, as BCS pointed out, I'd think you mean Sony, not Nintendo. I also agree with the points raised by BCS about what Nintendo needs. Personally, I think Microsoft already bombed it like they did releasing Windows 8 for a desktop computer instead of saying it was for a tablet  :geek:

To be honest, the UK usually gets the short end of the stick when it comes to prices on video games and consoles, but damn. That is just a ridiculous price differential.

And if that wasn't enough, Sony have absolutely destroyed what was left of Microsoft's credibility in their conference. I might have to buy a PS4 for the exclusives alone. And this. Just this.

I have always backed, and will continue to back, the notion that the Xbox 360 as being an almost legendary console that is better than the PS3 or the Wii.

The Xbone, however,is shite. And now I'll be off to get a PS4 or a WiiU.

And with Finland's oh-so-nice taxation thanks to the National Coalition Party, XBone costs no less than 529,90 € to preorder. Which about £451 or US $703.

Well, wasn't going to get it anyway. I'll stick to my PC, and by the time it's outdated I probably have a job etc. so I can buy a new one for around the same cost.

For anyone's information, you will need a PS+ subscription to play online on PS4. Go rant.

Before anyone gets riled about that, let me explain why it shouldn't be a problem.

With PS+, you get a crap-ton of discounted games, a free game each month (not like Bejeweled or anything like that; a proper £40 game) and a bunch of other stuff...and unlike the Xbox, stuff like Netflix or whatever is free. You don't HAVE to have it; if you don't play online then you've saved yourself about £40. But it's not a purely a thing to "play online" with, it's more like a VIP membership.

So it's not a problem, really. Xbox Live still costs money anyway...

Clicking through from there, and I see that there is the DeltaWing available in GT6. Oh my. :) :D  8-) Even without the Manx TT track, this could tempt me to buy...

I'd buy it but I don't have a PS3..... :(

Forza 5 doesn't really look all that good to be honest

I wouldn't say that. In addition to nearly a 1000 cars they'll be classic Grand Prix and Indy machinary, plus Bathurst. But honestly I'm intriqued by the "Drivatar" feature. If it can really learn your driving style, and if you can "ghost race" your friends (the drinking games write themselves there) and if you can race "yourself" and learn from it, and improve your laps based on it's running, then it will be basically a simulator/Driving coach, which is awesome.

The trouble is it isn't worth the money. While I bought a 360 just for Forza 4, I can honestly say it was worth it, as the system, wheel, game and DLC only cost about $400, and I easly got my money back out of it. That won't even by the Xbone itself. Forza 5 after system, wheel, internet, etc is looking like an $800 investment, which while I'm sure it improves on 4 (n already great game) it better be better than actual racing for that much.

Looks epic, drop the stupid standard cars/premium cars BS and you have a winner. I honestly can't think of a better send off for the PS3. Pure brillance on Sony's part here. How many people would rather drop about $100 (after DLC) for a game, rather than the $800 above?

Before anyone gets riled about that, let me explain why it shouldn't be a problem.

With PS+, you get a crap-ton of discounted games, a free game each month (not like Bejeweled or anything like that; a proper £40 game) and a bunch of other stuff...and unlike the Xbox, stuff like Netflix or whatever is free. You don't HAVE to have it; if you don't play online then you've saved yourself about £40. But it's not a purely a thing to "play online" with, it's more like a VIP membership.

So it's not a problem, really. Xbox Live still costs money anyway...

Eh, that's the way it USED to be. Now that's its mandatory, its pretty much PS Live. I'm pissed about that, but its opt-in/out, and since the system will actually function without being hooked to the net (and will play used games) it'll be fine. I imagine it'll work like XBL in that you can acess the store for DLC without having a membership

One last question, what is that car in the GT6 trailer/screens that looks like an old 50's GP car? Is it a Morgan?

It is an LCC Rocket, it was designed by Gordon Murry before he did the McLaren F1 and I think it still holds the world record for the fastest car in the world…in reverse at 110mph

It's only mandatory for PS4 multiplayer and other stuff mentioned. ;)

I think the LCC Rocket will work with a livery editor. Don't start a big mass-complaining though, I am not triggering it - because I am not one of GTPlanet's "whine whores"...
