Maybe it does, but I'm opposed to it because there's no reason to market female and male racing drivers separately. They can race against each other, so why would you have a separate series? Though I suppose the drivers themselves could think it would be fun.

Most sports segregate men and women though - though I suppose motorsport is different to football or golf or something in that they'd both be driving cars of similar ability.

Yeah, and in football, they use footballs of similar ability, most golf clubs have similar abilities, all shuttlecocks and tennis racquets have similar abilities...

Hardly comparable.

Equestrianism and endurance sailing are the other two major sports I can think of that routinely have both men and women in the same competition and like F1, each human is largely reliant on the quality of a major element largely, but not entirely, "created" by other minds (the horse in equestrianism, the boat in endurance sailing and the car in F1). All three also cost a lot of money to do, thus making it difficult for multiple parallel strands to be sustained.

Hear, hear.

Also, it seems Lauren Blighton won that championship without winning any races. That's eerily similar to what (SPOILER) Kamui Kobayashi did in my 2016 fantasy F1 season.

But we're straying off topic a little, I fear.

Back in the 90s, I had a dream that included my mother getting back in touch with Bernie who knew her from way back in the 70s when she was a Brabham fan and regularly seen in the paddock. I said to her that I'd love to take a look at the new aero developments of McLaren so she called him and in the next scene, there they were: my mother and Bernie talking to the guard of the McLaren factory whilst I sneaked in past the guard and took a good look at the car.

Of course in reality, Bernie never was introduced to my mother.
"I don't think we should be used to finance (the manufacturers') R&D because they will produce that engine anyway" said Monisha Kaltenborn.
"You will never see a Mercedes using a Ferrari engine or the other way round."

I don't normally remember my dreams but I had a really surreal one on tuesday night.

I dreamt I was watching a Ginetta G20 race at Thruxton were upon I happen to bump into the Finnish Ice hockey team they gave me VIP access to the executive area. Which was nice. I then was stuck between two Finnish Ice Hockey player debating in Finnish who was a better driver Mika Hakkinen or Keke Rosberg. One of my quiz team was acting as interpreter. Needless to say the argument didn't get settled but we all ended up getting pi**ed on Finnlandia Vodka.

Things that worry me about the above dream.

1. I've never been to Thruxton
2. I'm not Finnish
3. I don't speak Finnish
4. Why where my mates from the quiz team in my dream?
5. No-one in my quiz team speaks Finnish either
6. I don't really like Ice Hockey
7. I don't drink Vodka

I had a dream last night involving me attempting to get an interview from some drivers on Vijay Mallya's boat during a Monaco GP party. Oddly, I was wearing Campos team kit (my brain refuses to accept the possibility of any team being known as HRT) yet nobody thought it was odd that I was trying to do my job on "Force India territory". Perhaps predictably, little usable material got recorded because most of the recorded stuff consisted of random people drunkenly mumbling stuff into the camera.

The one decent set of quotes I got was when I sat on the deck to get away from the noise and struck up a conversation with a random driver from a team that was neither Campos nor Force India. Most of it seemed to revolve around discussing who had the biggest/nicest/most ridiculous boats in the harbour.

We can work on that. 8-) I believe Teemu Selanne, who has played for the Finnish national team, is a personal friend of Mika Hakkinen.
Nissanymania! Friday has never been the same since.

The car in front is a Stefan.

I had a dream that Kobayashi will finish 4th in the Bahrain GP, would be great if that were to come true.

And a few weeks ago I had a dream that Stefan GP was testing at Suzuka with Taki Inoue as the driver. Japanese fans were going crazy.
