Which was, apart from the obvious 1950 British GP and the 1950 Indy 500, the only race in which no driver took part who had previously won a world championship Grand Prix?

I'm thinking a race where the British teams boycotted, so I believe it's the 1960 Italian Grand Prix, where Phil Hill took his first win, I think.

I was just about to make myself look a right idiot there and say there was also any race in 1994 after Senna died and weren't Mansell's comeback races, but misread it as no championship winner rather than race winner. :)

As for the Murray Walker quote, could it be the Renault team in the early 80s when they went kaputt all the time?

I can give a clue and narrow it down that the time-frame is 1999-2012. Murray Walker was quoted saying this in a Season Preview while dissecting a certain team.
And it was not Renault.

Was Murray talking about Sauber, during a 2001 season preview article he did for F1 Racing magazine?

IIRC the technical boss he was talking about was Sergio Rinland.

You're bang on target, ibsey.
It was indeed the F1 Racing article you are referring to, and Sauber was the team.
However it was Willi Rampf he spoke of.

I remember reading that very article back in the day. IIRC Murray absolutely slated Sauber in it. But in the end it turned out to be another of Murray’s “prophecies that did not come true”. Since Sauber when on to have their best ever season (up until then). Despite an extremely inexperienced driver lineup. Also I seem to remember during Murray’s ITV commentaries of the early races in 2001. Murray spent a lot of the time trying to rectify his pre season comments about Sauber.

Can’t think of another question to post here at the moment, so someone else is more than welcome to do so.

According to Murray Walkers 1991 Grand Prix Year (sponsored by Fosters, wont see that any more!)

Which team introduced a 'go faster' button in their car which gave em an extra 200rpm for a very short period of time.
Miserable Thierry (Boutsen) staggers round mostly on ten cylinders (out of 12) with no clutch, low oil pressure, bad brakes and no grip to finish tenth, 3 laps down...

(Murray Walkers review of Boutsen's Brazil 1991 race).

Thats a point these days!

The answer to my latest question was indeed Jerez 1997. When Jacques let Mika and DC through on the last lap, little did he know that he would never lead a lap of a Grand Prix again, although he was ahead of Fisichella in that hilarious moment at Montreal 1998.

Williams as well and although they weren't sponsored by Fosters, their livery is very similar and that gave me a potential hint.

Brabham-Yamaha?

I'm guessing the engine was so bad, it wasn't able to rev very high for long periods of time. Hence the go faster button, to assist overtaking?

What F1 driver was quoted saying this:

At ______ last year, I think I drove a very, very good race.
I started __ and overtook two cars to win. And I overtook two cars not because they pitted, not because they ran wide.
No, I actually overtook two cars, in anger, to win a GP - and it was totally overlooked, in my view, because I'm not Michael Schumacher.
If I was Michael Schumacher, everyone would have said, "What a magnificent, classic Schuey win!".
But no one said that. No one said, "F*cking Hell! ________ won a great race and actually passed two cars to do it."
No one said that.
