F1 2013 New Stuff

Post by Alextrax52 »

I think this is in the right forum but the mods can move it if it's not.

Anyway F1Fanatic have managed to find out what is new for the F1 2013 Video Game and from what I've seen it looks epic. Take a look

Instantly I was disappointed that the game featured the 1988 Lotuses and Williams and not the 1987 models because those actually won races. Also there should be more modern classic cars to play e.g. an early 2000s Ferrari or McLaren. And on that video with Button's voice are they faking it? Sounds more like Davidson to me.

The 1988 Williams? Couldn't they have gone with the 1986 Williams-Honda instead??? Very baffling.

The game still looks very epic. Makes me wanna go to the store and buy a PS3.

I knew it wouldn't happen, but i'd have loved a rejectful car like a Forti or something of that level, something has to fill the void left by HRT

I think F1 Championship Edition was the last game to have this kind of stuff. There were many classic cars avaliable, the most recent being the 1996 Williams.

I think F1CE might be the same thing as F1 06, so yeah. It had a Lotus 49 and Lotus 72, and some other old cars I don't remember anymore. They were unlockables if you won career mode or something.

All in all this is a poor cheap gimmick. Codemasters would do a lot better to create an entirely seperate game called "F1 Masters" or something, with full season car & track sets. Basically GPL but slightly more modern (maybe a season from the 80s golden era?) and more console friendly. I hate the physics engine Codemasters use at the moment, it's awful to drive and no fun at all...

I find it cool that in F1CE, cars can blow up without warning! Some have suggested that Codemasters should do something like that.

There is already a thread in the Black Stig Forum which discusses features of the new game.

I thought they already did that? At least in F12011. I've had engines blow up on me. Also did a race at Singapore over the weekend and was running 2nd & came around a corner only to find Webber who was leading, just stopped on the side of the circuit. And retired at the end of the race. Which was pretty annoying actually as we were involved in a really intense but enjoyable race, at the time he retired.

In regards to the classic F1 cars in F1CE,IIRC they also had the 1980's Williams, 1951 Alfa Romeo I think? a 1967 Honda? and a 1977 Renualt.
Coming January 2019 a new F1 book revisiting 1994.

What on earth makes you think the developers will even consider putting that POS into the game?

The speed and unreliability would make the car a hit among gamers

Try the cars that top the charts in my double-DNFs thread. Especially the 1997 Stewart, which was actually a car with some speed, but neither one finished in 12 races.
