AVB has apparently confirmed that the soap opera is over. Gareth Bale is going to Real Madrid for some insane transfer figure. How on earth can a footballer be worth that amount of expenditure? And considering that UEFA have announced the Financial Fair Play regulations, surely this somewhat make a mockery of them?

I can't understand why you want to play for such an ugly club like Real Madrid. A club that thinks of themselves as the center of the football world (Remember when they "forced" FIFA to only allow Real Madrid to play football on the day of Real's 100th anniversary?) and tries to brand themselves as a brand (Like the New York Yankees) is way worse than the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or AS Monaco. There may be investors involved, but they'll never that ugly like Real Madrid. Hell, why couldn't Bale have gone to Manchester City? I would have bought a Bale jersey, as I'll never wear a Tottenham jersey...and a Real Madrid one for that matter.

I'm glad it's over with. Hearing about virtually nothing in football but Gareth Bale for the last month or two has been boring.

I now somewhat look forward to the international break, for the sole reason that it means Birmingham can't lose next week.

Given the amount of time of hyping for Bale from the first rumours to signing, I can't honestly make it conceivable in my mind that he'll be worth the hype. I thought he was maybe worth half of what he got transferred for. Is he really worth more than Cristiano Ronaldo? This is all bizarre to me...

Having seen the Anderlecht players bus somewhere around Bruges this friday, the boooing did their work, as they lost. I still don't know what they were doing there on a friday when they were playing in Waregem on the sunday

Then again, i also once have seen the Lommel United players bus parked in front of the place where i have bass guitar lessons. God knows what they were doing there. Also having seen a few times some OH Leuven vans heading in all directions except the one they were playing. Oh the mysterious ways of football teams and their vehicles.

Really boring day for me though! Only one pieces of calciomercato news on deadline day for Inter Milan; Joel Obi has gone to Parma once again, but to actually play this time, rather than just be co-owned. No new players coming in! The biggest flop of our deadline day was failing to loan out Patrick Olsen to Brescia!

If any team of yours is chronically lacking in the striker department however, I know a man who can still be signed even though the transfer window just slammed shut...

In all seriousness, I like terraces and much prefer them to seating. Kingsmeadow might be small but with the terraces you are always close to the pitch.

I've only stood in the terraces once (Peterborough in 2011/12), and i'm inclined to agree with you. I wasn't able to go to either Yeovil away game this season.

Happy with Ozil, not want to be greedy but would have been better if we had signed a striker too but hey we got the best striker in the world in our reserves (Bendtner). Im thinking Podolski when fit could play more in his natural striker role eventually.

Stramala, whats Viviano like? I think the average person thinks because hes loaned from Palermo who have been relegated he must not be any good! But I understand he played for Fiorentina last year.

Some other interesting signing on deadline deal, Kozak from Lazio to Villa. Big strong lad who I have bought many times (on football manager!). Seriously, a very good player and backup to Benteke. Heard he scored most in the Europa League last year.

Stephane Sessegnon started off brightly at Sunderland but seemed his form dipped a little. Enormous potential, who probably needed a change of team and he has got it. Victor Anichebe also can play but consistently injured, still only 25 years old and plenty time in his career.

Another good signing is James McCarthy, who Everton signed from Wigan. A great great player, again going to be an even better player in the future.

Finally in Peter Odemwingie, Cardiff have a great player. 30 goals in 87 games is a great record, and gives Cardiff a player with EPL experience and great support to Frazier Campbell, also at a reletively bargain price of 2.5m quid

The Dutch teams have been rubbish in European games the past few years, this year they are even worse. For example FC Utrecht (last years nr. 5, although not on that level this year) got eliminated by the bathplugging nr. 4 of bathplugging Luxemburg. The attendance for PSV-Ludogorets was also extremely low, only 11000 of the possible 36500 seats were actually used to sit on yesterday. Feyenoord, my club, may suck as well this year, but when Feyenoord plays de Kuip will be full whatever game it is. Ajax got shafted with the draw this year. FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Celtic, is pretty hard to survive in. But all can be summarized by saying that PEC Zwolle is now the leader in the Eredivisie. Many of you have probably never heard of this team and I can assure you, that is for good reason. As far as Preud'Homme is concerned, he did well at FC Twente a few years ago, so Club Brugge seem to have made a good choice with him.

Not that i care much about Brugge (altough i got big respect for Preud'Homme), but it's always lovely to see RSCA get humiliated. Especially by one of their arch-rivals.

I think their manager was on La Tribune (as a Limburger you probably don't watch it) along with the one and only Guy Luzon, who got pissed off when one of the journalists asked him about his record with Hapoel Tel Aviv and almost threatened to walk out. He still managed to do his best impression of Mournho, so i understand why he may come across as excessively arrogant.

This, I have a question for you. Do you know what has happened to La Louvieroise? They used to exist and have a great fanbase as you can see from this vid.

I saw that Anderlecht got trounced by Club Brugge, which should hopefully threaten their sense of entitlement to the league title.

Cercle are still pottering about around the bottom with only one win so far, and that was against Oostende so not exactly impressive. Getting outplayed by Charleroi 2-0 in the latest match does not bode well either.

And yes, FC Zwolle leading the Dutch league was mad but they've lost their last 2 games now so some normality is being restored. Seems not unlike Hoffenheim's exploits when they first made it into the Bundesliga. I don't really have a Dutch team, but I would like to see Willem II back in the top flight simply because I love their kit:
