No-one's going to. Several names have been thrown into the ring & interest has now faded, so stump up the info & someone can pose a question which doesn't take the rest of your life to research.

Because it was the number allocated to his team by the FIA?

He was driving for McLaren, who were assigned cars 7 and 8, and was no.2 to John Watson who was car 7. I don't see anything unusual there.

Add a 1 ahead of the 8 and you'll get the number of carbon fibre chassis destroyed by the fella.

Sorry for the lame joke.

Yes, the correct answer to why Andrea had car #8 in 1981 was because "it was the same number up-side down......"

Not sure where I read it, but I do remember seeing that in print at that time.

Admittedly, I had the honor of being in the grandstand at F1 Austria 1985 GP when he went off during the race right in front of us aand rolled/flipped the car.....

Not really the answer but it was jokingly said that was the reason. However between us the answer is there somewhere.

Here's another easy one from me. What has occassionally been done to the AGIP 6 leg dog at Monza usually just in time for race day?

(Actually I'm not overly sure about either the time or place for this one, but it should be easy so what the ****)

I bet a lot of disgruntled Ford fans would be wishing that car 888 (and car 1) would end up upside down at some stage in the 2010 V8 Supercars championship.
This is a cool spot.

The irony of it all is they only have Ford to blame for it.

The answer to this Q is that the flame tongues were painted out (by intruders) & re-painted at "the other end". I doubt it could be done nowadays with much heightened security.

I know it's not exactly my turn (First post in this thread) but it's been left dormant for a few days. Judging by previous questions where they got answered immediately I hope that my question can provide a little more challenge.

What do these numbers mean to a former F1 driver?

they're all less than 3 & that's the No of titles won by Brabham/Stewart/Senna/Lauda/Piquet.

No? really? This is harder than I thought

Is this someones points per a 12 year season in F1 , or did he/she only compete in 12 races in 1 season?

Just off the top of my head it's not Bourdais or Piquet Jnr is it? Haven't checked the results.

Or JV one of the years he got fired mid season?

Couldnt be Bourdais, he retired in his last race in F1, he would have had to finish 8th if this was correct :-S

Hmm gave up trying to retain details like that about 20 years ago! :)

It's not JV or NP Jnr either. neither did 12 races in a season. (always assuming we are on the right lines).

It's obviously harder than I thought. The driver in question is a reject driver from the 2000's.

Haha! I posted that then 2 minutes later decided it may be a little easy so took it out. Each number is to do with an individual race.

Oi! Still raw about that! I don't expect to find football banter like that on the F1 rejects forum

EDIT: We have 4 first team centre backs injured or suspended and had to play a centre mid in defence. There are (some) legitimate excuses

I'm sorry, but I can't see the answer for this even with the clues provided. Unless it's something really unusual like "number of crashes done by specific F1 reject", in which case I'm guessing Piquet Jr for 2009.

Agreed,. Also people posting questions need to call time after a while & give the answer or things just die. Super Aguri posted a Q ages ago & hasn't given the answer.

Ok I obviously tried too hard to make the question difficult, hopefully someone else can have a go. I figured that the driver in question would have made answering this a little easier but nevermind.

The numbers represent the number of classified finishers that HWNSNBM finished ahead of at each race he finished himself.

Right someone else have a go please. Someone who knows how to write a good question :P

Here's one which is kind of obscure but may not be too difficult.

Which former F1 driver rolled a brand new Merc 6.9 S class between Druids & Graham Hill Bend (Brands) when on a demonstration run to show what a great car the brand new beast was. Only clue........ mid/late 60s. Oh all right...British.

I would guess Stirling Moss as he is the only British driver that I can think of who was linked with Mercedes.
