Driving through London the other day I noticed they had already started naming streets after 'Mr Talent'...

Only a matter of time before a statue of him, complete with his awesome hairdo, will be placed on Trafalgar Square.

Max Chilton, Marussia
“The Indian Grand Prix represents another new race for me and my team mate, so once again it will be an exciting and challenging weekend in equal measure. The team have good experience of the track, having raced there on two occasions previously and, as always, the work we have done in the sim will be a huge benefit, so we have a good foundation on which to start the weekend.
Having reflected on Japan in particular I’m really pleased with how things are progressing at the moment, so I’m hoping for a similarly productive time in India, making good steps at every stage of the weekend
.
A good two-car finish is our team target, but also from my point of view I would obviously be happy to maintain my record of being the only driver to finish every race - for another four weekends!”

Voting for the Autosport Awards has kicked off, and our man Max is in the running for rookie of the year! It seems his amazing talent is absolutely unmistakable, so let's all give him a hand to reach an accolade he most assuredly deserves! ;)

I can't vote on that it would seem. Subscribers only.

So I voted for Max here instead:

Let's all push him ahead of Charles Pic !!
And off that 22nd spot.

Not only did The Talented One finish ahead of highly rated teammate Jules Bianchi, he also wrote his place in the record books, as a joint record holder with Tiago Monteiro and Heikki Kovalainen. Finishing the Abu Dhabi next week will make him the new record holder, COME ON MAX, DO IT FOR US!

It's what Max is best at: Keeping the car on the road.

But really outside the dreamworld this is the first race in which I can honestly say Chilton did a solid job finishing 17th 20 seconds ahead of Bianchi and nearly 1 minute ahead of Pic who's been more invisible than the old Rosberg

What is wrong with our world?
I went to Youtube to watch some videos, and they (YT) pitch me some ten-year old girls channel.
After a quick look I think her channel is about make-up and fashion, and she's ten!
Now, what bugs me is she has 12 499 subs and 2 799 738 views.
Max Chilton's YT channel has 173 subs and 7 241 views. Both were created in 2012.
I have done my best to spread Max's channel at various places, but alas..

So once again, what is wrong with the world? Image

No one was talking about Fernando Alonso in 2001. In this way, Chilton is following in the footsteps of one of F1's greats.

watka wrote: No one was talking about Fernando Alonso in 2001.

I was. I remember reading everything I could on him in F1 Racing, and making lists etc comparing him with other rookies from other eras.
I also watched his Spa win in 2000, on Eurosport I think it was. And was glad when he graduated to F1 later.
He was the first F1 driver to be around my age (1½ years older) and that inspired me some. As did him being ahead of the Jaguars in many a qualifying sessions that year.
But I'm afraid I lost interest in Alonso when he left Renault the first time. Since then, my perception of him changed for the worse unfortunately.

Anyway, there was no YT in 2001. And by the end of 2001, I'm pretty sure there was a bit of talk about Alonso.
And Max has now raced 16 races, almost as many as Alonso raced in the entire '01 season (17).

Max Chilton, Marussia
“Taking part in FP1 at the Yas Marina Circuit last year was one of the highlights of my career and racing here for the first time is certainly one of the things I have been most looking forward to in my debut season. It’s a great circuit, in a part of the world I love. With GP2 Series running with us here in Abu Dhabi it has been nice to spend some time ahead of the business end of the week training and relaxing with drivers I raced alongside over the past few years. I had a great race last Sunday and it has been nice to reflect on that and think about how we can maintain our current stride with three very important race weekends remaining. Yas Marina Circuit is a tough track technically and physically, but I’m feeling confident and aiming for a repeat performance from India.”

It's official, Max love deserts.

A solid 22nd place for Max in P2 today. Only 1.106 seconds behind the highly touted teammate Bianchi. He is really on it this weekend, for sure.

Max Chilton, P2 - 1:45.565, 22nd
“A shorter day for me having made way for Rodolfo’s planned Free Practice session this morning. I’ve driven here before so I am pretty familiar with the track and the acclimatisation was short. Just as I was getting into my run I felt something wrong with my car. It seems that I had a damaged brake duct, but we’re not quite sure how it happened. The guys worked well to replace the duct and turn the car around and I was pleased to get quite a few laps in after that. We are finding our way with the car balance a little but now is a good time to do that as these are the conditions we expect in qualifying and the race. Not a bad start but quite a lot of thinking to do in preparation for FP3.”
