F1 Dreams
Re: F1 Dreams
I had a dream last night about the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix...
I had missed the initial GP due to some party I hosted,so I decided to catch the highlights the day after.Unfortunately, due to school,I was only able to catch the race with eleven laps left, where there were only 5 cars running.Vettel first,Button in a very close second,GGGRRRSSSJJJNNN in third,Alonso in fourth and Daniel Ricciardo in fifth. The rest of the points paying positions for those who had retired I can't exactly remember, but I can remember Jules Bianchi being classified 11th,behind Bottas,at which I yelled out a very audible"NO!". The track was also different, as it had new,Paul Ricard esque run off areas.
Button was looking for every possible opportunity to get past,in the turns,on the straights, through runoff areas, but he just cannot get past. Then Alonso, who was about to fall a lap down, spun and started to face the opposite direction...and drive the wrong way...right into Button, ending both their races, leaving GGGRRRSSSJJJNNN in 2nd and Ricciardo in third. Since the race was so boring with three cars aft spread out across the track,so the TV broadcasters decided to show the crash that took out half the field, which started with Adrian Sutil losing all his brakes, piling into the field in turn six and causing chaos everywhere...
...and then I woke up.

Re: F1 Dreams
I had a dream last night about the Spanish GP, although not this year's. Based on the cars, it must've been 2002, although Button was driving a BAR instead of a Renault. And for some reason, during my dream, I was convinced that it's actually the year 2004.
The dream included a pile-up in the first corner of the race, Barrichello and Villeneuve had massive shunts, especially Jacques's looked really serious, but then he just jumped out of the car and walked away. Then there was a moment where Webber overtook Yoong for the lead (although that moment was at a corner rather reminiscent of Interlagos than the Catalunya), then there was a second start where a couple of cars went into the wall for no apparent reason in the start/finish straight. After that I heard the Hungarian commentators telling shockingly the "In the lead there are... THE TWO MINARDIS?!!"
It was interesting.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: F1 Dreams
Yesterday when I was sleeping, I dreamt and I watched the future 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix on TV and Nico Hülkenberg scored his maiden victory.
Like in 2006 and 2011, there was some rain, but not a lot and Nico, using the tyre-friendly Sauber, made two stops to everyone else's three and this put him ahead.
It was also Hülkenberg's first podium. I think Mark Webber lost his front wing at the start.
Last autumn, I dreamt that I visited http://statsf1.rd-olive.net/ to see the results of the 2012 Japanese Grand Prix. Again, the race was yet to happen in reality and the weather was so bad that only five drivers finished. I think they were Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton, Button and Sato who for some reason was racing on home soil for HRT! The picture for the race was of the five survivors grouped together after the race.

Re: F1 Dreams
Here's one. The other night, I dreamt I was reading the 2014 season guide (obviously the 2013 season had finished). Anyway, in the Red Bulls were Mark Webber and Antonio Felix da Costa (Vettel had retired after winning his 4th title), Alonso was partnered by none other than Maldonado at Ferrari, Hamilton and Perez were driving the (bright orange) McLarens. Kobayashi and Frijns were driving the Saubers, which were also orange, and Sunderland striker Conor Wickham was driving for Marussia. I can't remember the rest of the grid ![Embarrassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)

Re: F1 Dreams
Apparently I've become addicted to F1 enough to have a vivid dream about it (I hardly ever remember my dreams)
It was at Monaco this year, but for some reason its was dusk and there were no tall buildings around the Hotel Hairpin. Someone was leading in a white car with orange stripes: It looked like a Brawn with the green replaced with orange. What was weirder about the car was the fact that there was some seemingly random series of orange lines on the airbox.
This car took off ahead of the pack being lead by a Red Bull and both Lotus's. The white car blazed passed casino at a clearly unrealistic speed while everyone else followed a few seconds behind at normal speed. The dream ended with one of the Lotus's passing the Red Bull and then blazing off to Hotel Hairpin to try to catch up with the leader, with the other caught behind the Red Bull trying to do the same. I could faintly hear an announcer yell "Raikkonnen" and "Webber" , so I assume that Kimi was the one that passed the Red Bull and took off to catch the white car.
I wonder who exactly was driving that white and orange car, was it Webber or was he just the Red Bull that was leading the train of cars....?

Last night, I saw a dream about a F1 race on some street circuit - it didn't look like any of the ones used by F1 so far. Räikkönen in the Lotus and Alonso in the Ferrari were having a scrap for the lead, with Kimi alost punting Nando off the track. A bit further back Hülkenberg, driving for Sauber, said on the team radio "sorry guys, I'll have to retire" and pulled over into the pitlane, stopped the car in front of the Sauber pitbox and ran behind the pit complex where the toilets were to vomit (apparently he had caught some sort of a stomach bug).
For some reason Sauber's pitbox was the very first one on the pitlane and their second driver was a certain K. Kobayashi, as evidenced by the signage over their pitbox...

Re: F1 Dreams
Well I had another dream about F1, though this one was a lot less cryptic then the last:
It was at a city course, it looked like the Tokyo R246 course from Gran Turismo cause of the letters painted on the road.
Apparently Jenson Button was ill and couldnt make the race so Mclaren got him replaced by.... Nigel Mansell....
So the race went on with fairly normal relations, Hamilton was fighting off the Red Bulls and Ferraris for the lead. At some point though, Mansell was blasting the Mclaren up the field, with the announcers acting quite surprised when he passed Vettel to get in the top 3.
It then cutted to Hamilton and Mansell reaching a right-angle turn, and Mansell just slams Hamilton, punting the Mercedes off to the side. The announcers were going nuts over this action and how Mansell was now in the lead in his first race back! The dream ended focusing on Hamilton throwing his arms up in the air in anger, as would be expected from such a maneuver.
Perhaps this is more realistic than I think, since Mansell is still supposedly looking for a place in F1 nowadays![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: F1 Dreams
So... a few nights ago I dreamt that the reason for Heinz-Harald Frentzen's successful 1999 season was that his Jordan had a special (but fully legal) fuel injection system. And that this fuel injection system was invented by Riccardo Patrese.
In the dream I even went to Riccardo Patrese's page on wikipedia and read about it. Apparently he had developed the system between 1995 and 1997 and he had a worldwide patent.
Why do I dream such things?

Re: F1 Dreams
Can you recall how this fuel injection system worked?
I had a special one a while back. It started when I went to some area nearby my cottage, nothing too abnormal. There's a local theatre there. I've never been in there before, but in the dream, I thought it was a good idea to enter it. For some reason, the F1 Drivers Association was holding a "private meeting" there. Out of nowhere, someone asks of I could help out and volunteer to serve hot coffee to them. Naturally, I accept. Everyone starts out normal, except Mark Webber, who was speaking in a British accent and was trying very hard to make it as fake as possible. Eventually the meeting turns into random conversations, with Alonso being the most rowdy. Eventually Jules Bianchi shows up and is somewhat stunned by what he sees, before Alonso says "hey look, the lizard king is here!" Sadly, it ended there.
And before you ask, no I don't have a clue on what I did that day.

It's very rare for me to have F1 dreams, but somehow I had two last night.
The first was an item on the Dutch tv news bulletin about Hamilton and Alonso hating each other with Alonso wearing a Mercedes jacket over his Ferrari clothes just to annoy Hamilton.
Alonso succeeded with Hamilton running off in anger. The second was that the Belgian Grand Prix had suddenly changed from Spa-Francorchamps to Zolder. Also were the gravel traps at Zolder not filled with gravel, but with snow.![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Snow traps would be interesting. Would have to make sure that they don't melt and flood the track though.

Re: F1 Dreams
Last night, I had a dream where I was playing Formula 1 '97, although for some reason I drove a 1998 Arrows and the game had a F1 Challenge '99-'02 HUD. I was driving at a Monaco-like track, before my engine failed at what could roughly be described as the Massenet corner. For some reason the game didn't remove me from the game immediatedly, and I also noticed that I could still move the car slightly across the track. So I decided to create as much havoc as possible given that my race was already over. First I was crashed into by Heinz-Harald Frentzen driving his 1999 Jordan, before the camera changed to an onboard feed of... Paul di Resta driving a Force India (not sure which year's model), who eventually crashed into me as well.
Suddenly, I was able to get out from the car and walk around the circuit. I walked on the track in the wrong direction, eventually reaching the main straight where there was a huge Winfield banner above the start/finish line. And then the dream ended.

Re: F1 Dreams
There is a way that you can edit the text files in F1 Challenge 99-02 to make it so that retired cars are not removed from the track. Which causes chaos at Indianapolis.

Also were the gravel traps at Zolder not filled with gravel, but with snow.
Snow traps would be interesting. Would have to make sure that they don't melt and flood the track though.
Well, snow is still better to slow down cars than ice, at least...
As long as the snow is not packed down hard, then it would work.

I know. It doesn't even need to be indianapolis - I did it for the 1999 Spanish GP and won it in a Minardi, quite simply because I was the only car left running!

Re: F1 Dreams
I had a dream about F1 for the first time in a while.
I was in this scrapyard and there was this huge media event about this upcoming F1 driver called "Devil Senna" who was apparently Ayrton's Senna's grandson. I was suddenly part of the crowd of media holding their microphones towards him, and thus he turned to me and started boasting about being the first grandson of a World Champion in the sport.
Then I woke up.

Re: F1 Dreams
Today I had a dream. I was a student at Hogwarts (which, though, looked like typical russian university), and for some holiday we had a F1 race nearby. we all went there to watch. As the qualifying session started, some guy came up to tell he has a new team to participate with. He said his company was "Rosco". All of a sudden, he was allowed to let his two drivers participate on an unofficial basis. They started last in race because didn't take part in quali. They, though, were called "606RR F1 Team" in all the results. One of them managed to climb 10th in that race.

Re: F1 Dreams
Dreamt again about F1. Don't worry, no Jim Morrison references.
The race was a strange combo of New Jersey and Valencia, it was obviously a street circuit. I can't remember anything until midway through the race. Webber, having retired from racing since his Le Mans stunt fails miserably, is commentating alongside Ben Edwards. Webber hates everything that's going on the track. Daniel Ricciardo (now on Toro Rosso, oddly enough) is somehow in 4th place, having a new floor on his car which is made of obsidian (minecraft anyone?) which apparently reduces drag. The race is marred by Pirelli tyres, but not because they keep wearing out... But because the wheel nuts are made from cheap plastic and they keep falling off! Only two cars suffer from this, but Martin Whitmarsh (now with Marussia) is already complaining to this with Edwards and Webber via walkie-talkies. Vettel, being one lap in the lead ahead of everyone else, on the final corner, does lots of doughnuts, a car passes him and Edwards says "and Webber's unlapped himself!," presumably in error. I don't know much about the order everyone else finished in, but Rosberg was in sixth until he spun off with another fallen off wheel. He changed on to wet tyres (!!) as a result.

Re: F1 Dreams
Last night I dreamed I was racing in the 6 wheeled Tyrrell . I was trying to pass Jack Brabham but he kept closing the door on me. For some reason the race was being held during the sunset and I could hear the commentators in my helmet.
Re: F1 Dreams
About 3 nights ago I dreamed F1......racing with dodgems cars
But they go as quick as F1 cara in 90s. The circuit is unknown, looks like located in suburbs without any barriers and at the end of the day...........Raikkonen crashed fatally
I think he hit a wall head-on at full speed.......
