Although, someone besides a competition winner did decide a challenge as the one who won that time didn't show up for a while to decide, but that's it. Since I'm one who tends to post tracks and results during a competition, but doesn't have a grasp or authority on deciding anything in such situations, I think I'll let UgncreativeUsergname decide the fate, as he ran this for a long time before I came along. My personal opinion is that we should stick with what actually happened, but if it was a misunderstanding (and it appears it was), and Stramala would them get a vote from you watka now that the misunderstanding is resolved, which would propel him into winning status, I believe the next theme should be drawn up by Stramala as a solution, as this thread should not be run too strictly. It's all for fun, right?

The scores have been announced, so the vote's closed, so watka is still the winner of the competition. It's not like Jimmy46 where he disappeared, he just can't think of anything, so he gets to keep the win.

So here's the new rule, since apparently I can autocratically make them when needed: if the winner can't think of anything, the runner-up can make a challenge if they want. So if Stramala wants to make a track brief, he can, as he's the next one in line. If he doesn't feel like it, then tommykl gets the privilege next. Here's the full list for this round:
1. watka
2. Stramala
3. tommykl
4. peteroli34
5 (at this point we decide by fewest reject points; this is not a new tiebreaker for the regular results). go_Rubens
6. dr-baker
7. roblomas52

Of course, it's unlikely it'll ever get down very far in a competition, but it's better to be safe.

I know I'm 6th on the list and therefore unlikely that I'll decide, but I do have 2 or 3 ideas if people want...

I offered merely because: a) I haven't had the time to look at much accept the PS forum recently because I've been out most evenings, b) Stramala had a legitimate compliant and I was wrong about his track.

Anyway, seeing as he hasn't come up with anything since I posted I may as well throw something out there:

Underground, Overground

You must design a track that visibly passes by (that is, next to a metro symbol in Googlemaps Pedometer) at least 5 metro stations (e.g. London Underground, Paris Metro, New York Subway). Here is a list of metro systems to help you, however I'm not sure all of them will have symbols on Googlemaps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_metro_systems

The track should not be more than 10km long (it shouldn't need to be!). Aside from negating one way systems/roundabouts/central reservations etc, all track must be based on existing roads.

Ask me if you have any queries or post a track and are not sure if it's eligible.

First there was Parco Sempione. Now, there is Fiera Campionaria.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6152954
The start/finish and pit lane would be located on Viale Daniele Ranzoni.

Fun fact: The track passes the Lotto Fiera station, on Linea M1, currently the closest stop on the network to Stadio San Siro :D

I also used the pit area from Gran Turismo 4 Opera Paris!

Not sure if it's legit, as the track doesn't go directly above any of the metro stations, which I'm not sure is a requirement (please clarify), and the metro stations may not be close enough, if you know what I mean.

I can't say that any of those layouts really convince me, but here we go:

Best:
1) UgncreativeUsergname
2) peteroli34

Worst:
1) roblomas52: That's not a racetrack, that is "How many chicanes fit into 8 km"
2) Stramala: Sorry, but I'm not a fan of chicanes.

Best

1. peteroli34 (22)
2. UgncreativeUsergname (14)
3. pi314159 (10)
4. Stramala (4)

I congratulate peteroli34, for providing a track to blow the rest away. Especially me, I was clearly lacking ideas.

b]Worst[/b]

1. roblomas52 (20)
2. Stramala (14)
3. go_Rubens (10)

Rob wins handily, but I though my track was worst. Heck, I wanted to nominate myself for 2nd worst track! But I'm surprised Stramala got as many bad votes as he did, I thought his track was half decent, and I only gave him a vote because the top 3 people this time were just too good. So, peteroli34, go on, we await an audacious challenge.

December 14th is my birthday and Christmas is Christmas, so mid- and late December is a different time from the rest of the year for me. That's my excuse for forgetting about this.

Now, then, I don't know what was going through watka's head when he made his votes, putting me and roblomas52 at the top and dr-baker as the worst track. These are my, so obviously much more objective and well thought out, votes:
Best
1. watka – Lots of long, flowing corners and challenging tight ones, but every one is different. It looks like it'd be a fun track both for drivers and spectators. The only major flaw is the little chicane before the first turn; it'd be easy flat and it'd make overtaking harder for no reason.
2. dr-baker – If you imagine all the roundabouts aren't there, which I unknowingly did on the zoomed-out view, it's a great 1930s-style track.

Worst
1. roblomas52 – When will you learn to stop making tracks with the same zero-radius ninety-degree corner literally half a dozen times? Three of the same curved braking zone, two of the same corner you have to compromise your exit for, and the less than 90-degree angular corner which, whilst both challenging and flowy, you did a million times. A track made in Argentina would be less repetitive.
2. go_Rubens – The same complaint, but less.
