First seventh in a race, and now seventh in a qualifying! Maybe we won't crumble under our enormous debt after all! Come on point(s)!

Just a question - after this time we will have an option to spend again, right?

Re: 1979 Virtual F1 - Brands Hatch race up!
Pi, I've just gone over your budget numbers for us in excel and I've found that our current budget should be -628,750 rather than the -878,750 you've listed. I think you've missed out our midseason prize money so you may want to check that for the other teams too.
Also I've realized I made an error with my quote for the extra pay driver money we got from the reshuffle. Our initial deal with our original drivers was 30,000 per race rather than the 35,000 I based my calculation on at the time. Therefore our extra pay driver money should have 280,000 rather than 200,000 which would bring our current budget up to -548,750.
Finally, instead of reimbursing the drivers that lost out on race drives from the reshuffle, would it be okay if we kept their money and use it to give them a guaranteed drive for next season? This would give Derek Daly, Teo Fabi, Andrea de Cesaris, Jan Lammers, Michael Bleekemolen, Huub Rothengater, Keiji Matsumoto, Roberto Marazzi and Hiroshi Fushida all a race each next season for the 30K they initially provided for a race this season instead of the 50K that we instead on selling the rest of the entries for. So we will only be selling 25 of the 34 total entries next season. This would give us back an extra 270K and bring us up to -278,750, enough to ensure we make 1980 with the end of year prize money for 19th.
Hope this is all acceptable.

I don't know what some teams are doing, but shouldn't we limit the amount of drivers a team can have per season to at least 10? At some teams it's becoming rather unrealistic..

Okay thanks, I only noticed this because I was desperately looking for a way to scrap enough money together to make it into 1980. So since that last strategy didn't work we are still 48,750 short. Our only option now is to start a begathon for the remaining money. All we need is say five teams to find it in their hearts to donate 10K each (or for one to donate 50K) and we'll pay back once we have our 1980 package sorted and our mate who works at Heineken will hook you up with a year's supply of the finest Dutch beer.

If it helps, Rolf Stommelen has 50k sitting in the bank, and he might be willing to drive for Boro for a race. And there's also a bevy of drivers in Merzario's proposed "Bracket 2" you could turn to to replace the guys that are bringing less than 50k a race.
Other than that, if you come onto the chat at some point, we might be able to discuss a deal with Boro that could potentially save the team for 1980.

Re: 1979 Virtual F1 - Austrian GP up!
Phenomenonal wins in Germany and Austria! Truly a dream come true for us. McLaren is now 54 points ahead in the WCC but no one in Bavaria is resting!
Great results from Shadow as well, a podium and another points finish has them in 6th in the WCC a tremendous improvement over 1978.
Pi, Is our budget accurate? I know I'm nagging about this, but I need to see how much I have left to develop our final upgrade, as well as help out Boro and Kaushen.

YES! A POINT! Though it was from Chris Amon. Where was Giacomelli when he retired?

We really had some great races and are now in 5th position. Maybe we can even attack 4th place.

Another 1-2 in quali! Splendid! And 4 cars in the top 14!
Bmw will immediately give $55,000 to both Boro and Kaushen. This isn't a loan, enjoy it!
Also we are working hard on our "King-Tiger Spec" motors as well!

Boro would like to see if both Rolf Stommelen and Emilio de Villota are interested in bringing their 50k to us for a race each. This would be in the place of Rad Dougall and José "Pocholo" Ramirez who only brought 40K each. This last change should bring our debt to less than 500K.

de Villota has already spent 40k to troll around at Merzario, so he won't have 50k for Boro as well if my understanding of the rules are correct.

Such ungratefulness. You asked for a 30k loan and we give up 55k as a gift. I see how our northern neighbors treat Christmas presents.......

At the end of the season, I'll be handing over Renault to somebody more likely to take the team a little further than I have. I'd then like to return to the waiting list if that's alright, Pi.
At the very least, someone competent should be heading up the engine side.

I say revoke their engine upgrades.

We at Boro on the other hand are extremely grateful for the 55K as it means we will survive into 1980 once we get our end of season prize money and also leave us with enough to pay back McLaren's 30K loan earlier than planned. A truckload of Heineken is on its way over to Munich for all at BMW to enjoy, the driver has been instructed to ignore all traffic lights and stop signs.
Therefore we will keep our lineup as it is with Dougall and Ramirez running as planned.

It was german humour: thus a totally unfunny way of asking you subtly 'what exactly do you have in offer for that prize'

Germans aren't funny, deal with it

Re: 1979 Virtual F1 - Austrian GP up!
We are at the point of the season where Ligier are stuck in a bit of a jam in terms of budget. But due to the fact we're concerned about Williams and Arrows behind us, we will spend 600k on Ground Effects after this race, which will be our last upgrade of the season.
