FP has been extended to 45 minutes this year. Also, in feature race they need to use both compounds now. So drivers don't sacrifice sprint race to maximize result in the feature.

Yeah, because of RBR looking for the next Vettel instead of a great driver to back up Vettel. But she still got in!

Anyone know what Canamasas is up to this year? I was looking forward to him resuming his feud with Cecotto, whilst Cecotto resumes his feud with every single entity in GP2. :lol:

But yeah, unless someone's verbally beaten him up and told him to screw his head on properly, I fear it's gonna be more of the same this season from Cecotto.

Well, it seems he has been dropped by the Caterham Racing Academy. He could still get a seat, but at 27, he's getting on, and he was never as well-connected or backed as Cecotto..

Strangely, Sergio still claims he is 25...

Sitting at home doing nothing is less damaging to a career than a Trident drive! The best any driver has ever done across a season is 7th place and that was Gianmaria Bruni taking 2 wins in 2006. The only time they have had a driver finish a season in the top 10 overall!

They have had Pastor Maldonado, Stefano Colleti, Mike Conway, Andy Zuber and even Ceccoto JNR himself to no avail.

If a rookie wins the GP2 title this year, we can finally say for the first time since 2011 that that driver was actually a strong champion.

I would bet on Felipe Nasr winning the championship. He is consistent and well settled at Carlin, plus he now has Williams backing.

As much as I like Vandorne and Marciello, winning GP2 in the first year is very difficult and unfortunately people here seem to think that if you don't win in the first year you are "unworthy."

If you're referring to me, then I'm afraid you're quite mistaken. It's not that as much as the title being won by somebody who had been milling about in GP2/FR3.5 for 2-3 years previous and had accomplished little to nothing in those categories before their title winning year. I mean, when the title favourite among the drivers who have previous GP2 experience is Felipe Nasr, who finished 2013 with less podiums than Stefano friggin' Coletti. That, versus somebody like Stoffel Vandoorne, who was easily the second most-impressive junior driver last year, and was actually ahead of Kevin Magnussen after 9 of 17 rounds.

That said, if anyone is gonna beat Vandoorne or Marciello, it'll be Nasr. But from looking at 2013, I don't see him having the guts to beat them.

Makes me wonder what livery those two teams are going for in 2014.

Hilmer have, due to their tie-up with Force India, a replica of the F1 livery. Carlin have a blue, white and yellow livery for Nasr and a blue, white and teal livery for Leal.

They're all on the GP2 website.

True, but all because something does not currently exist does not mean that it never existed. The concept of the currency, and the rapid inflation that the currency underwent exists as historical fact is what is being referenced, regardless of its current lack of current real world presence.
