Max Chilton is 25th in most laps driven Jerez & Bahrain combined. That's not that bad, it is a pretty solid, respectable position to be in the standings.
Good job, Max. It could be worse.

Jesus was born on a 25th day of the month.
2 plus 5 equals 7 which is the perfect number.
Max's racing number is 4 and he did 21 laps at Bahrain - 4+2+1 also equals 7.
Chilton has 7 letters in it.
Max is short for Maxwell which also has 7 letters in it.
He is from Reigate, which has 7 letters in it and his car is powered by a Ferrari, which has 7 letters in it.
His fastest lap time at Bahrain was 1:42.511 - 1+4+2+5+1+1 = 14 which is wholly divisible by 7.
He was 9.228 seconds off of the fastest time at Bahrain - 9+2+2+8 = 21 which is wholly divisible by 7.
The Australian Grand Prix will be held on 16th March, which is the 75th day of 2014 - (75/2014)*4 (Max's race number) = 0.14896, which is equal to (as near as makes no difference) 1/7. If you doubt that, then 0+1+4+8+9+6 = 28 which is wholly divisible by 7.

If he is not doing low fuel runs or using softs/super softs then it is a respectable time.

He did manage a good 44 laps today which is great for Marussia seeing as they've had a tough time of late in terms of getting mileage on the car. Hopefully the rest of the week goes well for them.

Car 11 last year was driven by Nico Hülkenberg. His best finish was 4th. Surely we're in the wrong here?

Melbourne preview:

Edit
Chilton improved his pace by a massive 12,165 seconds from FP1 to FP2! Seriously impressive.
Max Chilton, Marussia
2013 Qualifying - 20th, 2013 Race - 17th
“I didn’t think much could come close to the feeling I had making my Grand Prix debut last season, but I’m every bit as excited one year on as we head to Australia for the first round of the championship. There have been some very positive signs in testing, which lead us to believe that we can have a good season. Until we get though the first race it’s difficult to expand on that, but the performance is there and we haven’t even scratched the surface yet. Of course, it would be great if we could match last year’s fantastic reliability record, but that is likely to be a much bigger task this season. Personally, I’m ready to get my teeth into the races. I’m entering my second season so I have my own goals as a driver, but what matters most is working together as a team to rise to the challenge as this will be a tough but exciting year.”

Max Chilton, P1 - 1:46.922, 17th; P2 - 1:34.757, 19th
“The first two sessions have been a little like night and day in that we’ve had a really positive FP2 compared to the issues we experienced earlier. The second session was not entirely trouble free and we had to make some adjustments to get the car to my liking, but at least we got a good rhythm going and were able to put some proper laps on the car, which we really needed for evaluation. We are still just scratching the surface and there is a lot we can do to improve the car for here and the forthcoming races, but it’s a car I feel confident with and that we can develop, so I’m feeling positive.”

NBC had a small feature about Marussia's chances in their coverage of FP2. And the main person was Max! He must be a great thing to be centered around a 1 minute feature on NBC!

Re: Get Ready for... The ChiltonCraze!
Last year, the battle between Caterham and Marussia was decided between an early-season 13th-place finish. Max now has that 13th place. Will this count, or can Max max out the performance of his car even further?

2014 starts off with a bang!
Melbourne, Australian Grand Prix 2014.
Marussia - Max Chilton, 13th
"Today's race was by no means perfect but we have started the season with a two-car finish, and on my side a 14th place as well, so we have to be pleased with that. The start was obviously extremely concerning. I was on the grid preparing for the formation lap with the usual procedures and suddenly everything just cut out. At that point I was worried that my race was already over, but the team did a fantastic job to push me off the grid and back to the garage where they reset the car and I was able to start the race from the pit lane. From that point on I knew we had an important job to do to get the car home, but at the same time do the hard work to we needed to be able to evaluate the car over a race distance. It was quite pleasing to be able to catch Ericsson in the process. We've learned an awful lot today that will stand us in good stead as we prepare for the next race in Malaysia and also to start developing the car for the longer term. After a tough time in testing when we did not achieve all the mileage we had hoped for, it's good to take home a 14th place finish from the first race of the season. It's a nice reward for all the hard work across the whole team."

Max has been getting his Malaysia preparation priorities straight :
Also, is he pitching for sponsorship from Loreal?
"I don't like being away for more than a couple of weeks if I have to be, so to spend a full seven days at home I thought was worth it," said Chilton with regard to the gap between the first two races.
"I got quite a few things done. I had a photo shoot, went for a heat chamber session to get ready for the conditions, so it was worth it."

Sepang FP1 & FP2
I wonder what the 'masses' of data they gathered in Melbourne exactly was? Whatever it was, I wouldn't understand it.
Max is way too intellectual for me..
Max Chilton, P1 - 1:46.911, 18th; P2 - 1:43.638, 18th
"It was good to be back in the car. We learned so much from the masses of data we gathered in Melbourne and there really is so much potential for development with the car that it’s nice to start making in-roads into that. This morning we were compromised quite a lot by an electrical problem and this afternoon ended better than it started. I spun on my opening lap but we got the car back quickly and I was still able to achieve quite a lot of track time, so it was a good recovery. There’s still plenty of work to be done to improve the balance but we ticked a lot of boxes."

There were actually several drivers that had warped numbers during the broadcast. Some issue with FOM.
Button also had faulty numbers at one point, he had a lap time of 29 minutes. And there was some other
driver too which I forget...
