I was big in to XBOX Live at one point but then my Mum's credit card which the account was attached to was frauded and I wasn't bothered to set up a new account.

So if I ever get around to getting a new one, I'm in.

 This should be easy then! I had Stabilty Control, Traction Control and Anti-Lock Brakes turned off all the time in FM2 (basically all settings to maximum) and still found it too easy! (And manual gears btw).

I fall between the two of you then. I use the wheel and manual gears for single player but online to be more competitive I play with the controller and auto shift. I race with the rest of the driving aids off.

Re: The Racing Game Thread

Post by MinardiFan95 »

When I was on holidays I started playing F106 for PS2 again and I thought that people here might be interested in an offline racing championship (using F106 or any other F1 game). This series will be known as the "F1 Rejects World Championship".
If you are not familiar with offline racing competitions, then here is the basic idea behind them:
1. Each race usually runs over one week, meaning you have one week to submit the race time from when the race thread is started.
2. Races are either time trials or held over a set number of laps or a set race distance.
3. You must submit the time to the race organizer (via email or PM). DON'T post your race time or lap time in the race thread (although you can post split times from sectors 1 & 2).

Rules
There will be a limit of 10 or 11 teams depending on which game is used for the championship. The series is also limited to 20 or 22 drivers but a test driver may be permitted for some teams.

Cars will be rotated between each team so teams use all 11 cars over the course of the season (the order of rotation for F106 would be: Super Aguri, Midland, Toro Rosso, BMW Sauber, Red Bull, Honda, Williams, Toyota, McLaren, Ferrari, Renault). If one team starts off with Renault, the next week that team will be using Super Aguri's

There will be 11 races in each season, with 6 test sessions.

Team names must be reject related or they will be ..erm... rejected by the governing body F1ROLRA (F1 Rejects Offline Racing Association). Some examples are:
Not allowed: McLaren, Ferrari, Schumacher GP, any manufacturer teams, Brawn GP, Button F1 Team, Lotus, etc.
Allowed: Super Aguri, Life, Pacific, Andrea Moda, Badoer GP, F1 Rejects Racing, HWNSNBM Racing, BGNPT (Bertrand Gachot's New Plaything), Fondmetal Team Malaysia, Stefan F1, any other team profiled on the F1 Rejects website, etc.)

Each team's entry is to be set out like this example:
Team Name: F1 Rejects Racing
Driver: HWNSNBM
Game 1: F106
Game 2: GP4

If you are interested please post in this thread announcing your interest in the series and which game(s) you would prefer to play.

There will now be two series of the "F1 Rejects World Championship"; one for PS2 users and one for PC users
The game choices for each series have been narrowed to two games each
PS2: F106 & F1 Career Challenge
PC: GP4 & F1 Challenge '99 - '02

Also, would anyone be able to suggest mods and tracks for the PC games.

For the PC game I suggest that we use the 2006 mod because as far as I know (well for GP4 anyway) It's one of the best mods out there. Not sure about F1 Challenge though. Any F1C users out there that can suggest a mod for that game worth using?

Now that I've obtained a fully functioning PS2 after my first one died (2001-2009 RISP)

ADx_Wales: F1 06

Before it died I was playing Gran Turismo 4, being able to win the "Formula Gran Turismo 2004" which is a generic F1 carshape of the times, and its got exactly the same colourscheme as Tom Pryce's Token just to the right :).

I'm up for GP4, but my preference is to work without mods. I find them fiddly, and I like the 2001 grid.

Also, how are we going to work this? Didn't they end up scrapping the online capability GP4 because of licencing issues or something. :?:

EDIT: Nevermind, I just read the thread properly.

I will make an offer here that might seem crazy... crazy awesome!

I'm a massive fan of F1 Challenge 99-02, and have about 2 years of making edits, tweaks and league mods for it. What i'm proposing is that I could make a mod that includes nothing but reject cars, either repainted liveries, or the actual cars themselves if they already exist in another mod. They would share the same engine and physics files to ensure fair competition, but just think of a Life competing with Andrea Moda and Mastercard Lola for a win :D

I always thought GT4 F1 cars looked more like FNippon cars...
GT3 F1 cars though were almost identical to real F1 cars. There was one that looked a lot like the Lotus 99T, and another one that was similar to the Williams FW16. Two cars that Ayrton Senna drove. The man who was a hero in Japan...
This one, though, looks like the Williams FW11 Image

I think the F686 was the Mock FW11, Honda powerd, The nose area is the same blue that would (should) have a number on it, Its a shame they made 6 different F1 cars for the Japanese GT3 , but the Brit GT3 version only has two, which are hybridised versions of the 6 JPN models.

Anyways, I'm definately a Formula GT Reject anyways, more spins than politicians.

now that i'd be very interested in. I don't have a steering wheel or pedals and i run the game on vista which means there are a few teething troubles (one of them being no pitstops!) but if you made such a mod available i would download it certainly.

IndyCar Racing, 2, or CART Fury?

The GT3 car names were based on a simple formula:
Car type, cylinders, year / driver
(ex. F686/M = Formula (1), V6, 1986/Mansell)
(ex. F094/H = Formula (1), V10, 1994/Hill) The F094/S is similar to the F094/H but lacks the barge boards.

There will now be a series for each of the four games. However, one driver can only enter in two of the series.
The seasons used by each game will be:
PS2
F106: 2006 season (duh)
F1 Career Challenge: 1999 season
PC
GP4: 2001 season (original game, not a mod)
F1 Challenge '99-'02: "Rejects Mod" or, if the reject mod is not finished in time, the 1999 season.

The points system will be the same as the points system used from 2003-2009.
The number 1 (since there was no previous champion) will not be used this season. #0 will be used in place of #1 (For example: Williams had to use #0 in 1993 as Mansell went to CART/Indy Cars). Numbers will be allocated in order of entrants.

The numbers 1 (since there was no previous champion) and 13 will not be used this season. #0 will be used in place of #1 (For example: Williams had to use #0 in 1993 as Mansell went to CART/Indy Cars). Numbers will be allocated in order of entrants.

Teams

Nippo-Italian Wildcards
#0 - LucaPacchiarini (GP4 - PC)

Cosworthless GP Engineering
#2 - MinardiFan95 (F106 - PS2)
#3 - MinardiFan95 (F1 Career Challenge - PS2)

The series will start on Saturday 13th of February (maybe earlier if the Reject Mod is finished before the 13th).

don't have PS3, so I have to go for GP4 (which I've never played in my life).Once you set a date, on line server, game and mod, i'm in. Lets hope it won't be on working ours for me.
